It’s the final day of @snugaberdeen at @arkade_gallery 🥹 It’s been amazing to see the project develop and to see Arkade opening up again after the pandemic and being a space that people look to for comfort and creativity. The project has been the hard work of @mbutterworthart @jimstax & @corvideyes along with support from many of the studio artists. I’m finally getting a chance to relax and enjoy the vibes as I’m usually stuck at work so it’s great to be parked on a sofa for the next few hours. For anyone who missed it, RGU & Aberdeen University have partnered up to host the Aberdeen Cultural Summit with the first event taking place a few weeks ago at the RGU campus. I was invited as a speaker and spoke about how we engage with artists but also communities and building meaningful connections through festivals like Nuart Aberdeen. I did feel the day was beneficial in many ways but especially for putting so many key players in the same room and allowing space for informal conversations which hopefully spur on some action. I was also touched by so many people offering their help and support for our platform Creative Aberdeen and look forward to building something robust over the next few months.
