knife being a goofy menace to society in the remaster is so funny but also so sad because i KNOW what happens to him later. does he know that he will eventually grow to regret his actions, but feel that it's too late for him to change due to him firmly establishing himself as a cruel and dangerous person, and even though he tries his best despite that he is unable to make others trust him no matter how much he tries due to his own fear of emotional vulnerability? does he know that his constant urge to harm others that causes him and everyone around him so much pain was hard coded into him by somebody who thought it would be funny? does he know that despite everything, there will eventually be people in his life who really do care for him, and who see him as something more than a violent freak? does he know that he's going to fucking DIE.
