⋆ ˚。Gentle Hands ♡ ⋆。˚
╰┈➤ shadow x reader
warnings: none, pure fluff <3
author´s note: first post, yaay!! i was drying my hair earlier when this idea popped into my head, and i just had to write it out! honestly, i’m so glad i did. there’s just something about soft shadow that makes my heart melt ˙◠˙
The gentle hum of the blow dryer filled the dimly lit room, its steady whir blending with the slow, rhythmic rise and fall of your breathing. Warm air brushed over your scalp, gliding through your damp hair in soothing waves. The weight of the day had settled deep in your bones, exhaustion making your limbs heavy, but Shadow’s touch was enough to keep you anchored.
You hadn’t even tried to dry your hair properly before he had snatched the dryer from your clumsy grip. And now, here you were—melting beneath his careful touch, eyes fluttering shut as his fingers moved carefully, combing through your hair in slow, methodical strokes, untangling knots before passing the dryer over each section with quiet precision. He wasn’t rushing. He never did when it came to you.
"Mmh… this is nice."
Shadow didn’t answer right away, but you felt the way his hands slowed, the way his fingertips lingered against your scalp, tracing over strands like he was memorizing the feeling. Every touch was careful, deliberate, reverent: never harsh, never hurried, like he wanted to make sure you were comfortable, like he was doing more than just drying your hair.
His presence was steady, but there was something else beneath it. Something quieter, something unspoken. And then, just as the warmth of the dryer passed over you again, a pause.
You barely had time to process it before you felt it. A soft press of lips against your cheek, warm and fleeting, but impossibly tender. Your heart swelled, a deep warmth spreading through your chest. Without thinking, you tilted your head slightly, leaning into him, a silent plea to stay close.
He let out the softest breath, something almost like a sigh, but he didn’t pull away. Instead, his fingers brushed through your hair one last time before the dryer clicked off. The sudden stillness made you realize just how close he was, how his presence had been keeping you grounded all along.
Shadows chest was pressing against your back as his arms wrapped around you in a loose, protective hug. His warmth completely surrounded you, lulling you deeper into comfort.
He pressed another kiss against the side of your head. This time slower, softer.
"You’re falling asleep" he murmured against your hair, voice softer now, filled with something that made your heart ache in the best way.
"Mmh.." you hummed sleepily, not denying it, but not quite ready to move either. Then, gently, carefully, he began to pull away—not fully, not abruptly, but slow and deliberate, like he was easing you into something softer. His hands glided down your arms, his fingers briefly ghosting over your wrists before he shifted, guiding you toward the bed.
Before you could drift off completely, you felt the weight of his arm wrap around you, pulling you close, holding you against him.
He didn’t say anything. He didn’t need to. Because the warmth of his embrace, the steady rhythm of his breathing, the way his hand rested over yours: it all spoke for him.

⋆ ˚。Prime Headcanons ♡ ⋆。˚
╰┈➤ sonic, shadow, knuckles x reader
warnings: none, pure fluff!
author´s note: anon, i had an absolute blast writing this!! i couldn’t resist adding a little funny twist to Shadows, because, well, why not? honestly, i adore these, and i really hope you do too ♡( ◡‿◡ ) also, i left out a few characters this time, but don’t worry, i’m planning a second part!
➼ Sonic ༉‧₊˚.
As you and Sonic walked side by side, still catching your breath from the latest chaotic Shatterverse mission, he suddenly nudged you with his elbow and smirked.
“You know,” he said, tossing you a sideways glance, “I think saving you back there definitely proves I love you more.”
You scoffed, crossing your arms. “Please, I literally had your back the whole time. If anything, that just proves I love you more.”
Sonic raised an eyebrow, his signature smug grin forming. “Oh yeah? You sure about that? That’s cute, babe. But I definitely win this one.”
You narrow your eyes at him, crossing your arms. “Excuse me? No way. I obviously love you more.”
Sonic chuckles, stepping closer, and the way he looks at you makes your heart do flips. “Alright then, let’s settle this the Sonic way. First one to the top of that hill wins the official ‘I Love You More’ title.”
You squint up at the hill. It’s steep, but nothing you can’t handle, especially if it means proving your point.
Sonic wiggles his fingers in a teasing wave. “And since I’m such a great boyfriend, I’ll even give you a five-second head start!”
You don’t wait for him to finish. The second he says "five," you bolt.
“HEY—THAT'S CHEATING!” Sonic yelps, laughing as he instantly takes off after you. The wind rushes past your ears, and you can hear his footsteps closing in.
“You said five seconds!” you call back between breaths, your heart racing from both the sprint and the sheer fun of it.
Sonic appears beside you in a blink, his grin wide and full of mischief. “I also said I love you more, so technically, you’re already losing.”
You roll your eyes. “Pfft—dream on, Hedgehog!”
Sonic suddenly leans closer mid-run and presses a quick kiss to your cheek, making you gasp. “Wha—SONIC!?”
“What?” he asks all innocently, while smirking, of course. “Just proving my point.”
The cheeky distraction works: you slow down just enough for Sonic to pull ahead. With a burst of speed, he crosses the finish line first, spinning to a stop and striking a victorious pose.
“Boom! Winner!” He throws his arms in the air before pointing both thumbs at himself. “And the official ‘I Love You More’ champion for life.”
You, on the other hand? Absolutely dying.
You finally reach the finish line, but the second you do, your knees buckle and you drop to the ground, panting. “Oh my… Chaos… You’re stupid for making me do this…” you gasp between breaths. “And I’m even stupider for actually doing it…!”
Sonic bursts out laughing and drops down beside you, watching as you dramatically flop onto your back.
“Aww, c’mon,” he teases, propping himself up on one elbow. “You’re tellin’ me that’s all you got?”
You shoot him a glare, but you’re too exhausted to argue. Instead, you just groan and throw an arm over your face.
Suddenly, you feel a shadow hovering over you. You peek out from under your arm and see Sonic leaning over you, his face way too close, his eyes way too full of amusement.
“Told ya I’d love you more,” he murmurs, his grin softer now but still playful.
You huff, but you can’t help the way your heart melts a little at the way he’s looking at you. “…I still think I love you more,” you mumble.
Sonic laughs again, then dips down and presses a quick kiss to your forehead. “Keep tellin’ yourself that, babe.”
➼ Shadow ༉‧₊˚.
The Shatterverse had thrown you into more than enough chaos for one day.
After barely making it through a heated battle with the Chaos Council’s forces, you, Sonic, and Shadow had finally broken free from the mess. The three of you landed on a broken stretch of New Yoke City’s rooftops, the neon lights flickering in the distance.
You let out a breath, trying to steady your heartbeat. “Okay. That was way too close.”
Sonic, catching his breath, gave a tired grin. “Pfft—please, that was nothing. We totally handled that.”
Shadow, standing slightly apart from you both, just crossed his arms, his expression unreadable. “Hmph. Don’t let your guard down yet.”
Before you could roll your eyes at his usual broody act, your stomach twisted with unease. Something felt… wrong. Then, suddenly— A bright blast of energy shot toward you from behind.
It was so fast—you didn’t even have time to react.
But Shadow did.
Before you could blink, a streak of black and red moved faster than your eyes could follow. One second, you were standing there—the next, you were in Shadow’s arms.
His strong grip locked around you as the world blurred, Chaos Energy crackling around you. The weightless pull of a teleport made your breath hitch, and in a flash, you were somewhere else entirely: a rooftop ledge, far from the attack.
Shadow still held you firmly against him, his chest rising and falling just slightly faster than normal. His red eyes flicked over you, sharp and almost desperate.
“Are you hurt?” His voice was lower, rougher.
You were too busy trying to process what just happened. “…I-I’m fine.”
Shadow’s grip lingered for a second too long before he finally exhaled, setting you down carefully.
“Good.” His tone shifted back to neutral instantly, like he was trying to shove whatever just happened deep down. “Be more careful next time.”
You blinked. Then, as your mind caught up, you smirked. “…Did you just teleport me to safety without thinking?”
Shadow’s eye twitched.
“And,” you continued, grinning now, “you totally held me the whole time.” You stepped closer, your smile only growing. “Shadow, was that—dare I say—instinct?”
His entire body stiffened. “Don’t make this a big deal.”
“Oh, it’s a huge deal.” You crossed your arms. “You panicked and saved me before I even knew what was happening.”
Shadow scowled, looking away. “I didn’t panic.”
“Mhm. Sure.”
“I didn’t.”
“Then why are you still standing so close to me?”
Shadow didn’t move. Didn’t even blink. It was only when you tilted your head and raised an eyebrow that he seemed to process the question. The tips of his ears flicked back. And for just a fraction of a second—his grip on his arms tightened.
You could practically hear the mental error message going off in his head.
“You’re insufferable.”
You chuckled, leaning in just a little, just to mess with him. “You love it.”
Shadow said nothing, but the way he turned away just a little too quickly was all the proof you needed.
Even as he walked ahead, you could tell he was flustered. And honestly? It was the cutest thing ever. But just as you were about to follow him— a very distant voice shouted from below.
“UMM—HELLO?! A LITTLE HELP?!!”
Your heads snapped toward the battlefield below, where Sonic was still surrounded, dodging attacks left and right.
“ARE YOU SERIOUS?! YOU GUYS JUST LEFT ME?!” Sonic called up, barely avoiding a laser blast. “SHADOW, YOU COULDN’T TELEPORT ME TOO?!”
Shadow stared at you. You stared back. A long, painful silence.
Then, at the same time: "WE FORGOT SONIC!!!”
➼ Knuckles ༉‧₊˚.
The shimmering neon skyline of New Yoke City glowed in the distance as your ship rocked gently on the water. Or rather, Knuckles the Dread’s ship.
You had ended up in the Shatterverse thanks to Sonic’s latest reality-shattering mishap, and now, you were stuck navigating pirate-infested waters with your very own pirate captain boyfriend.
Which would’ve been great—if he wasn’t being so over-the-top about it.
“YARRR, THIS VESSEL BE ME DOMAIN!” Knuckles boomed, hands on his hips as he gazed heroically across the deck. “A ship as mighty as the waves themselves!”
You stood a few feet away, arms crossed, watching him with a raised eyebrow. “…Are you done?”
Knuckles, completely ignoring you, twirled his cutlass dramatically. “THE SEA BE CALLIN’, AND I BE ANSWERIN’—FOR I BE KNUCKLES THE DREAD, FEARSOME RULER OF THESE WATERS!”
You snorted. “The sea isn’t calling. It’s pretending it doesn’t know you.”
Knuckles narrowed his eyes at you. “Excuse me? I be a legend! The most feared and respected pirate in all the seas!”
“Feared? Knuckles, the last time you tried to be intimidating, the Chaos Council’s bots ignored you because they didn’t see you as a threat.”
Knuckles gasped. Offended.
“THAT BE A LOW BLOW, LOVE.” He placed a hand over his chest, shaking his head dramatically. “Aye, a wound deeper than any cutlass could inflict.”
You rolled your eyes, biting back a laugh. “Oh no, however will you recover?”
Knuckles sighed dramatically, stepping closer. “Only a worthy tale could ease me pain…” You raised an eyebrow. “Oh boy.”
“Gather ‘round, lass.” He grinned, resting a foot on a barrel and striking a heroic pose. “And let me tell ye the tale of me greatest victory!”
You sighed. “I feel like I don’t have a choice.”
Knuckles twirled his cutlass and pointed it skyward. “There I was, facin’ a MONSTROUS sea beast! Its EYES glowin’ like the fires of a forge! Its TEETH as sharp as cutlasses! It rose from the depths, threatenin’ to drag me ship and crew into the abyss!”
You blinked. “You don’t have a crew.”
Knuckles ignored you.
“But FEAR NOT!” He gestured grandly. “With me own two fists, I FOUGHT the beast, facin’ it one-on-one! A true battle of strength and will! And with one final, mighty blow, I sent the beast screechin’ back into the depths!” He crossed his arms, grinning proudly. “And THAT, me dear heart, is why I be the most fearsome pirate in all the seas.”
You stared at him for a long moment. Then, without warning, you stepped forward—and wrapped your arms around him.
Silence. Knuckles froze. Like, completely stiff-as-a-board, brain-malfunctioning, doesn’t-know-what-to-do-with-his-hands frozen. “…Uh.”
You hugged him tighter, resting your head against his chest. “You’re ridiculous.”
“I—Uh—I mean, AHEM— w-what be this… soft ambush ye be plottin’?!” he finally stammered, voice cracking just a little.
You laughed, looking up at him. “It’s called a hug, Captain. Maybe you’ve heard of it?”
Knuckles tried to regain his composure, but his arms hesitantly moved—awkwardly at first—before finally resting around you. He cleared his throat, trying to sound tough.
“…Hmph. A bold move, lass. To take the great Captain Knuckles off guard…”
You smirked. “Oh, totally. You’re completely defenseless right now.”
Knuckles grumbled something under his breath, but you could see the tips of his ears burning red. And then, out of nowhere, he reached up, plucked his pirate hat off his own head, and carefully placed it onto yours.
Your eyes widened. “Wha—?”
Knuckles turned away quickly, crossing his arms. “A true pirate’s gotta have a hat,” he muttered. “Consider it… yer official crew membership.”
Your heart did a tiny flip.
Knuckles, still not looking at you, scratched the back of his neck. “…Looks good on ye.”
You grinned, tilting the oversized hat on your head. “You’re such a dork!”
“Hmph.” Knuckles finally looked back at you, his usual confidence returning. “Aye, but I be your dork.”

❀⊱Walking Home⊰❀ ⤷ Shadow the Hedgehog x Reader | sfw, fluff, one-shot, school au
synopsis: You and Shadow are walking home from school.
warnings: reader is a mobian, not beta-read, DO NOT TRY ANY OF THESE STUNTS.
a/n: Had this super cute idea while listening to music at work. Actually, a lot of my fic ideas are because of songs I listen to lol. (Also, I wrote this in one evening, so there's probably typos galore and general pacing/tense issues.)

The sun was setting upon the horizon as both you and Shadow walked alongside the road, cars occasionally passing by. You had, graciously, missed the bus going to your neighborhood. Why Shadow was with you, of all hedgehogs, you don't know. He doesn't even live anywhere near you. You weren't even sure if you two took the same bus. After a car passed by, tousling your fur and quills from the wind, you finally spoke up:
"So.... You live this way too?" You asked, tentatively, pushing some of your quills out of the way of your face and turning around, walking backwards in order to face Shadow.
Shadow was silent, simply breathing in deeply before letting it go, looking off towards the road. It's almost as if he was trying to avoid eye contact. You looked away as well, towards the sunset above the water. Seagulls squawked as they flew by, creating an atmosphere that could have been romantic if this was one of your maladaptive daydreams... Not that you fantasized about anything similar with the hedgehog in front of you.
"... Yeah," Shadow said, catching you off guard. You stopped suddenly, the jerking motion making one of your feet skid on the gravel. You tried to correct yourself but one of your feet caught on the other's ankle and it caused you to trip. You were about to land on your butt if it wasn't for Shadow catching you by your arm. His face showed surprised shock. You were pretty sure that the reason why he looked so shocked was from your complete failure to walk, considering, y'know, the current situation.
Shadow closed his eyes and let out a breath before helping you up, chastising you. "You should be more careful."
"Ah-hah.. Sorry!" You said, scratching the back of your neck in embarrassment. Your heart was beating out of your chest and you were sure your face was very flushed. You wondered if Shadow could see the blush, if it was even there. "Thanks for the save, Shadow."
"Just make sure not to do something stupid again," he replied, retracting his hand from your arm. He crossed his arms across his chest and continued walking. You put your hands to your face and crouched onto the ground after he passed you by, your bag falling off your shoulder with a soft thud. That small little accident could have been such a romantic moment, you knew it. You secretly hoped for it. You wanted him to lean in and confess his (nonexistent) feelings for you. But, of course, this isn't one of your fanfics. This is reality. Shadow doesn't like you that way. you have to remind yourself.
You jump when a light touch touches your shoulder and you spin around, eyes wide like a deer in headlights. If he couldn't see your blush earlier, he could now.
"What are you doing?" Shadow asks. You stand up abruptly, putting your hands in front of you defensively as you properly face him.
"Ah, my legs just hurt!" You say quickly. Though, it wasn't a lie. Your legs really did hurt, though not enough to crouch down onto the ground. "We've been walking for miles, y'know, and I just... needed to..." You trail off, looking at Shadow as he turned himself around then knelt down on the ground, his back facing towards you. "What are you doing?" You echo his earlier question.
"You said your legs hurt," he stated, matter-of-factly. You step back. Shadow wouldn't just give anyone a piggyback ride. Who is this person? Because this is not Shadow.
You didn't say anything. Instead, like the very sane person you are, you dash ahead of Shadow, skipping and jumping. After a spin, that you thought made you look cute, you smiled widely at him. "Thanks, Shadow, but I'm fine, really!"
To emphasize your point, you decided that it was a great idea to jump on top of the railings, which, by the way, was right next to a cliff face. You started walking along them as if you did this every day after school. Which was a lie. You took the bus home. The closest thing you've done to this was on the monkey bars when you were in elementary school.
"See? I'm completely fine!" You say with a smile on your face.
Shadow walked up to you, his face showed no amusement. "Get down from there, you're going to get hurt."
You 'pfbbt' at his comment and start to walk again. "Please. I'm fine."
You notice how much taller than him you are on top of the rail as the two of you walk. You look at his quills, seeing the red highlights and the way they're styled. You wonder if his quills just grow like that or if he styles them that way. Turning towards him to ask this very question, you start: "Hey, Shadow-"
But, you didn't get to finish your sentence before your foot slips off of the metal railing and you start falling off of the side of cliff, your voice shrill as you scream in surprise.
"HEY!" Shadow yells. He acted fast, quickly grabbing your hand before you could fall any further. You stared up at him, heart beating fast from the terror. His face was scrunched up in, what seemed to be, both worry and fear. You weren't really able to tell. Shadow pulled you up and away from the cliff. You scootched as far away from it as you could without being in the road, breathing heavily. "What did I tell you about getting hurt?!"
You flinched at his raised voice, which is almost never an occurrence. He wasn't one to raise his voice. "I.. I'm sorry, I..." You started, trailing off. You couldn't think. All that was in your head was how close to death you just were. If Shadow wasn't here to save you from your own antics you wouldn't be alive. You stared at were you just were at the edge of the cliff.
"Hey," Shadow said, softer, waving his hand in front of your face to get your attention. When that didn't work he grabbed onto your shoulders and forcefully faced you towards him. "Are you okay?"
You couldn't believe it. How was your heart beating faster? The guy you've been crushing on for who-knows-how-long has somehow become even more attractive to you. Is this the suspended bridge effect? "I... yeah. I'm okay." You managed to say.
Shadow let go of a breath that you didn't know he was holding. Was he.. relieved? I mean, it would make sense for him to be relieved. He almost witnessed the death of his classmate. He should be very relieved. That was when Shadow suddenly picked you up without warning. Bridal style. Your brain short-circuited. "Wh.. What are you doing?!"
Shadow looked at you like you were dumb. "Making sure that you don't do that again."
Okay, yeah. Makes sense. You hid your face in your hands as he walked alongside the road with you in his arms. While this was definitely your dream come true, it was not supposed to happen in this way.
Though... you didn't mind it.
