my friend sami wanted me to share his story with you:
Today, my twin brothers, Hamza and Bilal, and I left home with a small amount of money to buy one kilo of flour that costs $90. While we were on our way, the occupation forces suddenly opened fire on us. My brother Hamza was shot in the leg and started bleeding heavily. Some medics rushed to pull him to safety, while Bilal and I had to lie flat on the ground and crawl toward a sand dune in the desert.
We survived by a miracle—just because we were trying to buy a little food to keep us alive. We didn’t ask for much, just enough to fill our stomachs and give us a chance to survive. But even that became a risk. I’m asking you from the bottom of my heart: stand with us and help us.
My name is Sami, and I want to live. I want to feel safe, even if it’s just for one hour. Please, don’t turn away as if nothing happened. Don’t ignore these words. Your donation could save a life. Even the smallest act of kindness can bring light to someone trapped in darkness.
Imagine yourself in my place—hurt, hungry, and scared—while others could help but choose not to. Please take a minute to think—and then donate. Your support will not be wasted.

Help Save A Child's Life!!!
Hello everyone, I am writing on behalf of Shaima, a mother from Gaza who lost one of her daughters, and now is at risk of losing another. Her daughter Ilana needs medical intervention to survive a lung disease, which will cost 2000$. Please donate to her, her campaign is vetted (#610 on Gaza Vetters).
DONATION LINK Below are Shaimaa's own words, and pictures of her children and their situation:
"I want to convey the story of my daughter, who lost her sister at the beginning of the war. Now, Ilana suffers from difficulty breathing as a result of recent tests. She has a sultan's disease in her lungs. She needs urgent medical intervention. This costs 2000 dollars. My husband lost his job and lost everything he has. We can't afford these high costs in proportion to the catastrophic situation. My daughter needs treatment. I am a mother who lost her first daughter. I don't want to lose my second child.
I hope that someone will come to love for my child. She deserves to live in peace, to live without pain and pain, and to become fine."

"My children also suffer from lack of food. There is no food for their body."

"Here Adam is on the grave of his sister Ivona, my son became in a psychological state that is not well, what will my child be if Ilana loses?"

"My son is also not well in many videos asking for help from everyone who watches his story." Thank you for listening to her story, please help her and save Ilana's life. Even the smallest donation is a step forward to save her.

you cannot talk about the homophobic murder of jonathan joss without including in the conversation that he is indigenous.
american indian men are at the 2nd highest risk of death by murder compared to all other ethnic groups. in their lifetimes, 82% of native men report having experienced domestic violence. yet the overwhelming majority of perpetrators are non-natives (88% of native men and 92% of native women who reported violence said their attacker was non-native). what’s more, tribal governments are often stymied in their attempts to bring justice against non-natives, meaning that many of these cases go unresolved.
this was an intersectional attack. the fact that he is indigenous matters, even if the motivation was homophobic, because it made him even more vulnerable and disposable in the eyes of his killer.
as always, look into MMIWP to learn more, and speak up for us. miigwetch, take care

My family is going through a very difficult time right now, and I humbly ask for your help.
I can't find any other words or feelings to describe the situation we're going through.
If you could donate anything—no matter how small—it would be tremendous. If you can't, just sharing or sending a kind word would be a great comfort.

Help Ahmed 💔
Ahmed, our 4-year-old child, suffers from diabetes. Amid the war, his condition has severely worsened due to the lack of his medication and insulin. We struggle monthly to obtain the necessary insulin needles for him, at exorbitant prices and with great difficulty❤️🩹💔.

Ahmed needs .4 gauge needle tips suitable for his age, but he has been forced to use .8 gauge needles, which cause him great pain, making him cry every time he receives an insulin injection. However, today Ahmed is very happy because we managed to get .4 gauge needle tips after nine months of pain🥹🥹.

Ahmed is supposed to have a special diet for diabetes, but he is forced to eat whatever is available here since the appropriate food is not accessible, which harms his health.
Ahmed should check his blood sugar levels 3 to 5 times daily, but due to the unavailability of test strips, we only test him when absolutely necessary, which happens about once a week.

Help Ahmed obtain his most basic right, which is the right to treatment. You can help by sharing the campaign link or donating🙏🏻🙏🏻. Here is the campaign link:

✅️Vetted by @gazavetters, my number verified on the list is ( #621 )✅️
Today was unlike any other.
We received a few donations and with them, we had our first real meal in over a month. For the first time in so long, we didn’t go to sleep hungry. We cried, not from pain this time, but from overwhelming joy and gratitude.
To everyone who donated, shared, or simply kept us in their thoughts thank you. You didn’t just feed us. You reminded us that we’re not alone. You gave us back a piece of our dignity and hope.
But the struggle isn’t over. We’re still in need of food, support, and a little more light in these hard times.
Please, if you can, continue to help. Every share, every dollar, every act of kindness makes a real difference.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you. And please, stay with us on this journey.

By now, you all must have seen the news that Gaza had officially run out of food, as one of the main aid suppliers in Gaza, World Food Program, had announced that their stock has been completely depleted, leaving just a few days for community kitchens to function.
This comes after more than 50 days (and counting) of Israel's complete closure of the borders, preventing food and medicine, among other life essentials, from entering Gaza. There are children crying out of hunger with trucks loaded with over 100,000 tons of food mere minutes away from them, which Israel continues to prevent from entering besieged Gaza.
This also comes after Israel had deliberately destroyed swaths of farmlands in Gaza, specifically targeting them with bombs and chemical weapons that destroy the chance of growing crops. Israel also made sure bakeries are destroyed as well as water sources.
Diabolical is an understatement when it comes to the Zionist entity.
There are still things you can do. On top of raising awareness and protesting when possible, independent organisations like APN are working directly with farmers in Gaza to rehabilitate the agricultural sector and restore local food systems to combat famine, counter the blockade and build food sovereignty. You can donate to their Revive Gaza's Farmlands initiative here.
Additionally, keep in mind that this means whatever food supplies remain available in Gaza now costs astronomical amounts of money, so keep sharing and donating to individual fundraising campaigns. Gazafunds is a good source if you're not sure where to start. Remember that your donations and shares are often the only source of hope for these families.

the ceasefire was supposed to begin about an hour ago as of writing, but the israeli army has admitted to its continued bombing of the gaza strip, violating its own agreement. netanyahu claims he cannot honor the ceasefire until hamas hands over a list of names of settler hostages to be handed over first; hamas blames this on technical issues.
my friend and gazan journalist siraj abudayeh @siraj2024 (#219) tells me there is shooting along the border between gaza and '48, both in the north and south of gaza. he is also, despite everything, cautiously optimistic that things will settle themselves out soon and the ceasefire can properly begin. here's the message he sent me on the matter (before we got the notification that the ceasefire had been violated):
The ceasefire entered into force in the Gaza Strip after agreements were reached between the Palestinian factions and the Israeli occupation, which gave an opportunity to calm the military situation that had led to the death and injury of thousands of civilians and the widespread destruction of infrastructure. But despite this temporary cessation of fighting, the humanitarian need in Gaza remains dire and persistent. The temporary ceasefire came after months of military escalation, during which civilian areas in Gaza were the target of air and artillery attacks, resulting in the destruction of homes, hospitals and schools. Although the fighting has stopped, Siraj's family still needs significant humanitarian support. Siraj's family is still displaced and suffers from a severe shortage of basic materials such as food, medicine, and clean water. The next phase requires support to mitigate the ongoing humanitarian crisis.
there's still a strong chance that aid will be let into gaza in the coming days, and the process of rebuilding gaza will begin - whether under israeli fire or not. after gaza has has everything stolen. i ask that whoever sees this reblogs or donates to siraj's campaign. he has lost friends, family and colleagues, gofundme has deleted his survival campaign twice, and he's lost his livelihood over the course of this genocide, funded by america. we don't know what is coming next, but we know that these facts cannot change. what matters most right now is getting aid to people who need them.

We apologize to the whole world for the scenes of torn limbs and flesh scattered in the air, for the sight of decapitated heads and burning tents.
We apologize to the world for disturbing your daily lives.
Forgive us if you saw a massacre and it weighed heavily on you, stopping you from finishing your cup of coffee.
Forgive us if, while scrolling through reels, you saw a burned child in Gaza and it ruined your mood.
Forgive us if the screams of our women disturb you.
Forgive us, for we are being killed against our will, and there's nothing we can do about it.
Forgive us because in our time of weakness we turned to you to ask for help to save us from death.
Forgive us because we posted links to campaigns to save us everywhere.
Finally, I want to ask you a request, and you are free to respond to my appeal or leave me alone to face this genocide with my family

tumblr just deleted a huge swathe of palestinians who were on here trying to fundraise. if you've been helping any of these fundraisers please take this time to 1) check in with palestinians you're in contact with 2) help them submit support requests if needed 3) keep these campaigns circulating while the beneficiaries are being silenced. these campaigns are life or death, this isn't just social networking. do not let these fundraisers languish.

🚨 We Need Your Kindness to Survive 🚨
Hello, My name is Mosab Elderawi, and I live in Gaza with my family. Life here has become harder than I ever imagined, and I’m writing this with hope in my heart that you might hear our story.
The ongoing war has devastated my family. We’ve lost 25 family members—each one a beloved part of our lives, taken too soon. I miss them deeply—their laughter, their presence, their love. Every day is a reminder of this unimaginable loss.

We are now facing daily challenges to survive—things that most people take for granted, like food, clean water, and a safe place to sleep. The harsh realities of life here have replaced our dreams with the constant fight for survival.
Our Current Situation:
💔 Lost Stability: The war has left us without work or a stable source of income. 🍞 Basic Needs: Food and water are becoming harder to afford with rising prices and scarce resources. 📚 Dreams on Hold: Like so many here, my family’s dreams have been replaced by the need to simply survive. 😢 Unimaginable Loss: Losing 25 loved ones has left a void that can never be filled.
How You Can Help:
I’m sharing our story with the hope that someone out there might care. Even $5 can make a big difference for us, and if you’re unable to donate, just reblogging this post can help spread the word.
Your kindness, no matter how small, is something we’ll never forget.
What This Means to Us:
Your support is not about changing our entire situation—it’s about giving us a little relief, a little hope, and a way to keep going. We are not asking for much, and we understand if you can’t donate. Sharing our story is just as valuable to us as a donation.
Thank you for reading this far. It means the world to us to know that someone is listening. Your kindness gives us strength and helps us believe in a better tomorrow.
With all our gratitude, Mosab Elderawi and Family ❤️

A little late posting this, but Hani Almadhoun has posted the weekly update on the Gaza Soup Kitchen fundraiser page!
They're operating pop-up kitchens, delivering food and medicine to medical posts, and running water trucks wherever they can.
You should read about the good they're doing and donate if you can!

🕊️ Nadin’s Hope: A Mother, A Memory, A Future
Hello, my name is Nadin I’m from Gaza. I’m a graphic design graduate. I’m a wife. And now — I’m a mother.
I finished my design studies just before the war began. I had dreams of starting a small design studio, of making art that told stories. I used to think about colors, fonts, sketches. I used to think about the future.
Then the war came. And the future became something we tried to hold onto, moment by moment.
On October 22, 2023, I was pregnant when a missile destroyed my husband’s family home. 25 members of our family were killed — his mother, his siblings, his nieces and nephews, children. Entire branches of a family tree gone in seconds.
We were displaced twice after that. Everything we had disappeared — home, safety, routine, rest.
A few weeks later, I gave birth to our daughter. There was no crib. No stillness. No celebration.
But she came into the world quietly and beautifully. And in her eyes, I saw something I hadn’t felt in weeks: life that still wanted to grow.

Now, I spend my days holding her and trying to build a world around her that doesn’t shake with explosions.
We don’t know what comes next. There is no clear path. We are walking toward the unknown, step by step — with our daughter in our arms and hope as our guide.
🧡 How You Can Help
This is why I’m asking for support. Not for comfort — but for survival. To help care for one baby girl who entered the world after everything else collapsed.
If you can spare anything, it will help us:
Cover basic needs, so we can breathe and heal
Support a path toward even the smallest stability in a place that has none
My husband manages the donations securely through a U.S.-registered Stripe account. Everything is converted to USDT and exchanged here in Gaza. The rates are difficult — $100 becomes only 245 shekels — but we use every shekel carefully, with full transparency and documentation.
🎨 Sharing a Piece of Me
I want to share more than my need. Over the next few weeks, I’ll begin posting some of my graphic designs from before the war. They are pieces of who I was — and who I still am.
They may not be perfect, but they hold something real: my story before the silence, and my belief that beauty can still live alongside survival.
If you’ve made it this far, thank you. If you can give — thank you. And if you can’t, just sharing this post is a form of support I will never forget.
