Those words brought back a memory J’Ihiro had thought was long forgotten.

“What if they find us?” said a small voice from within the tender embrace of a Mi’qote woman in her early twenties. “Shhh...” The woman covered the mouth of a young J’ihiro with her palm. “They’ll find us if you’re too loud...”

Heavy footsteps and gruff voices could be heard from above the two. “Take anything valuable!” shouted one of the voices, a male Elezen wielding an axe. The sudden shout caused the young J’ihiro to jump. The Elezen man felt a bump underneath his feet and a malicious grin crept from ear to ear on his face. “Looks like we have some rats under the floorboards.” The man raised his axe arm and swung it down in between his feet, breaking apart the wooden floor. The Elezen man and two others pulled apart the floorboards, revealing the two hidden within. The men pulled J’ihiro and the woman out from their hiding place. Young J’ihiro kicked and screamed for his sister, but the bandits were much stronger than the two of them. One swift strike to the side of J’ihiro’s head knocked him out cold. When he next awoke he was alone in the house. Nothing but his sister’s necklace remained before him.

J’ihiro fiddled with the trinket that hung from the side of his mask, the same trinket that always hung around his older sisters neck, as he solemnly repeated the words “For those we have lost... For those we can get save...”

Scars

Briefly describe some of the notable scars of your muse. We get it - the “interesting scar” is one of the most abused tropes of fandom - so have fun with it and embrace the cheese factor if you want!

Like most warriors, scars litter J’ihiro’s body. Bullet wounds, cuts, stabs, magical burns, you name it. He wears each and every one as a badge of honor, except for the most prominant one. The scar over his right eye is not a badge of honor, but of failure. When he was young, his tribe was attacked by a band of thieves. They pillaged everything to the ground. The young J’Ihiro stood up against the leader of the bandits in an attempt to protect the girl he fancied, but was struck down by a single swing of the bandits blade and the girl was taken, never to be seen again. The blade in question had a peculiar aether draining property, leaving J’ihiro’s right eye to leak aether. Over time the wound healed and the leakage gradually became less constant. These days, aether only leaks during an adrenaline rush or when he experiences high emotional stress.
