i will not let my susie name headcanon be remain hidden any longer!!!!!!!!!:

although i completely understand the idea of susie eventually warming up & be comfortable enough for __ character to call her susanna (especially for shipping...hehe...), i'm more in favor of the idea where susie is a derivative of all her dimensional counterparts & prefers being called susie over susanna

(↑additional headcanon! parallel/another susie & all of susie's dimensional counterparts prefer to be called susanna, although susie is a nickname they use, it's not what they prefer to be called!)

embracing her current identity as susie would be a great showcase of how she's emotionally grown--she's no longer the once fearful young girl who was trapped in the another dimension waiting for potentially years to be freed OR the woman who was so stuck in the past she did everything in her power to try & make things as they once were

if you're not close to her, you call her susie, if you are close to her, you also call her susie, & that's how she wants things to be!

doubt anyone remembers that kirby mecha au i mentioned only once out of the shit ton posts i've made on this blog, but i had another dream today about it that was...yeah it was metasusie themed who would've fucking guessed based on my track record 🗿

CONTEXT FOR DREAM:

mk is the first mech ever created by the extraterrestrials--the kaiju of the story--meant to replicate the technology of hwc's dream mechs, kirby & dedede who are referred to as the star & the king, & he starts off his debut as an enemy. however, because the extraterrestrials mainly rely on biological means, he was created with a brain

however, because the mechs need to be rely on a human partner, aka a pilot ie. magolor pilots kirby & taranza pilots dedede, despite all his strength, mk's kinda beginning to lose

mk quickly realizes that the need for a pilot must also be the case for him (thanks to his logical thought process/brain) & he immediately shifts from fighting kirby/dedede to looking for a human

fortunately for him (& unfortunately for susie), susie & others who works as backup for the dream team so happen to be nearby his escape route & so he destroys their defense mechs & although majority manage to escape, he manages to get susie & immediately shoves her into his pilot.

now, susie has ALWAYS wanted to pilot one of the dream mechs, especially since she's the one who came up with the idea & designed them, but she never thought this was how she'd pilot a corrupted version of said mech.

anyways, susie's immediately hooked up to the system, his emotions hers & hers his, which causes them to quickly find out: they are BARELY compatible, leading mk to EASILY override susie's control over the mech

to explain why they're incompatible while magolor/kirby & taranza/dedede are: kirby & dedede gained their personalities from magolor & taranza, their personalities based on the pilot's most subtle emotion as well as their most ideal self, almost as if the mech is a complete 180 of their pilot's personality

meanwhile, the only reason why susie & mk are even compatible in the first place is that both mk & susie want to survive.

anyways, now that mk's got a human "pilot" in his grasp, he's finally able to beat down both kirby & dedede

furthermore, magolor/kirby & taranza/dedede are very hesitant in fighting mk as well since they don't want to potentially hurt or kill susie, something mk takes advantage of

of course while in the pilot, susie throughout the battle is ABSOLUTELY freaking out as obviously she doesn't want to kill any of her friends but being forced to watch them receive blow after blow

however, when she realizes that they're not attacking back due to being afraid of potentially hurting her, she finally decides to do something about it rather than just panic & feel helpless

so, susie tries to do the crazy thing & override the mk's control with her own by syncing her feelings with mk's --acting as if she's some sort of trojan virus

after struggling to figure out how the mech feels, she's eventually manages to trick the mech into believing that her own feelings are his own

& although syncing with mk's feelings allows mk to become more powerful, susie manages to override mk's control with her own, create an opening for magolor & taranza-- taranza being able to pin mk down & magolor left to stab the extraterrestrial mech

mk's immediately realizes what susie's just done & attempts to override her again, however, her emotions cause him to feel confused as he's never experienced complex emotions before, particularly sorrow, self-sacrifice, & acceptance of death.

magolor & kirby try to reason with susie that there must be a better way than this but susie tries her best to console them, telling them that it's all going to be okay & that she's thankful for the many memories she's made with not only them, but with dedede & taranza as well

she tells them that she doesn't have much time since she can feel her control quickly slipping away from the mech, which finally forces magolor to go in for the killing blow.

however, as magolor & kirby go in for the stab, susie is suddenly ejected from the pilot. & she knows damn well that it wasn't her who did it.

YEAH SO MK SAVED HER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

after the battle, susie has to mentally recover for a while, but learns that the hwc saved mk's brain & all remnants of his mech body, interested in examining his extraterrestrial origins. however, susie has other plans for her savior--she wants to save him.

so she immediately heads to figuring out how to genetically modify his brain--his brain is FUCKING HUGE & has been basically stored in a freezer the size of a literal box store & susie would preferrably like to be able to talk to him somewhere that isn't so...cold. & lowkey smells like shit.

after eventual nonstop testing for two weeks, susie finally manages to create a significantly smaller replicant of his brain the size of a human brain, although it's been fitted with mechanical parts in order to more easily hook up future advancements such as visual & auditory sensors as well as transfer mk's memories from his original brain into this new one

ALRIGHT SO NOW THE DREAM:

it begins with susie finished with installing visual & auditory receptors into mk's brain & hooking it up to visual/auditorial sensors before finally deciding to take a break after a long day of work, browsing wedding dresses on her pc, something she enjoys to doing as a pastime activity

she decides to also use this as a test to see how mk's brain reacts to certain stimuli, interested in seeing what chemicals his brain releasees when exhibiting certain emotions on a live eeg scan of his brain waves

when he finally gains the ability to see & hear again, she notes how irritated yet relieved he is to see that she's alive & curious when watching her scroll through different bridal dresses

although susie's very VERY interested in the fact that extraterrestrials may have vision very similar to humans (as after all, mk was a brain hooked up to a mech suit), she can't help but smile when she sees mk's curiosity from her simply scrolling through a bridal dress website as after all, the concept of marriage itself is likely extremely foreign to him

the dream shifts to later when mk has officially joined the main cast. although the other mechs--kirby & dedede--are portably just programs inside of a watch able to project small holograms of themselves, because mk isn't a program & instead a human-sized brain, he runs around in a mech body that holds his brain

anyways, when the cast undergoes their casual outing episode, when they pass by a bridal shop, susie begs them to go as she's always wanted to go to one & experience what it's like going to one

kirby & dedede are fully in support while magolor & taranza simply relent--they don't want to turn down one of their best friend's biggest dreams in life. meanwhile, mk notably doesn't say anything & just follows the crowd

there, susie gets fitted into a wedding dress, & as a joke, the fitter asks who's the groom

of course taranza & magolor decline while dedede & kirby straight up can't put on a suit.

however, mk says that he would like to be...despite being a mech.

of course everyone asks him if he's so sure or if he's gone insane/finally shown his true extraterrestrial colors, but mk's completely serious with his decision.

the fitter's really unsure how they would fit a mech in a suit so taranza & magolor go to help the poor guy out since it's likely that mk has no clue how to put on a suit or any sort of article of clothing for that matter (& they don't want to potentially destroy any sort of property they don't plan on buying)

anyways mk comes out looking fly as fuck, leaving susie a bit flustered --mainly by the fact that she never expected that mk would ever do something like that

despite being a brain capable of emotion & real thought, mk is largely & meticulously very logical, almost as if he was a program himself--but him putting on a suit reminds her of that first day he reacted to her scrolling through bridal dresses, that he has a more emotional side to him

either way, susie & mk are embarrassingly (or at least in susie's case) peer pressured into couple poses, as if they're about to be wedded (except the groom's a mech so i'm gonna leave that part of their relationship open to you guys.) --magolor takes multiple photos of them, making fun of susie while taranza, kirby & dedede try their best to make the situation less mean & more lighthearted, telling them how cute they look despite the awkward situation (which mk's completely fine with while susie's only getting more & more flustered).

the episode ends with mk unsure of his developing feelings for susie-- he doesn't know whether it's really okay to have these feelings, especially since he's just an extraterrestrial brain piloting a mech suit--a weapon, while susie is an individual who is far more than that, an individual with ambitions & dreams beyond just fighting the extraterrestrials...& most of all, she wants to walk down the altar with someone someday. & it probably won't be him.

meanwhile susie's crying her ass off begging magolor to delete the photos he took earlier.

OKAY THIS IS ACTUAL MISINFORMATION, the koko head is 1000+ STEPS, meaning that i would & HAVE hiked up a 1000+ step staircase in hawaii in the scorching sun & also went down a 1000+ step flight of stairs all in the name of metasusie.

this was inspired by one of @icy-dark-star's posts from i think a few years ago where they did something similar, genuinely one of my most favorite metasusie posts of all time

there's also a picture of them after i climbed up the koko head, but these are supposed to be just beach photos so beach!

...but know that i would indeed hike up a 500 step staircase all the way in hawaii in the scorching sun & go down said staircase just for them, this is the power of metasusie fans.

i've been thinking of covering the topic of media getting "lost in translation" specifically during the translation from japanese to english & how it plays into the subtopic of localization again recently but i honestly don't think i can do it justice since it's a complex topic that requires a lot of nuance

i think the most i can really say is to remember that a lot of official translations are still chalked up to interpretation of the translators & that localizations are often a result of attempting to find a cultural equivalent of something that exists in the original culture that does not exist in the other & may be conceptually difficult to understand for those within the other culture ie. brock's onigiri being referred to as jelly donuts by 4kids or figuring out how to translate phrases such as 頂きます (itadakimasu) into culturally understandable phrases in specifically western culture

although we understand these foods & phrases today, please consider that when the media was first originally translated, it was likely that the average person did not know what these foods/phrases were nor meant which is why they needed a cultural equivalent at the time

i should make it clear as well that although i do have a strong bias towards more direct translations, i do not view all localizations as bad as creating direct translations of certain cultural phrases/actions can be extremely difficult when there's no equivalent of in another culture, it's only when the translators are explicitly adding personal biases that did not exist within the original medium is when i begin to have an issue

i was watching the "a minecraft movie" with friends & thinking about gk & the metasusie fankid for something (that i am not finished with) & here are some random thoughts that popped up while watching it:

rather than a golden dagger, i feel like mk gifting max a sodory (perhaps a special one) would conceptually make more sense; perhaps max points out how galaxia's sentient & like his dad, he wants a sword friend too. how max gains the sodory friend? well max finds a random sodory & mk threatens it into essentially being an eternal playmate for max for the rest of time until it one day dies & the two develop a cute friendship over time (think bojji's & kage's relationship from ranking of kings). i imagine the sodory would be absolutely terrified by mk & perhaps even initially max when it learns that mk's his father. not sure how it'd react to susie as of currently, but i think it would work well with max's theming as a weapons enthusiast/weaponsmith since he'd probably learn from a young age to take care of blades, mainly due to constantly taking care of his sodory. i was thinking that max's sodory could look different from other "sodories" as in its wings & pupil are purple similar to max's hair color, the gold plating around its eye could be more of a hwc gold color, & the end of the hilt could be white similar to a diamond (thinking of haltmann & his mech) --a shiny pokemon of sorts

with the kirby & the forgotten land dlc coming, i'd like to imagine that gk has a lot more kids to name. the starry eyed knight is more than just excited to learn he has more grand(?)children he can spoil to death (but his favorite will always be mk) because he's just like that
