hi friends! i’m severely lacking in threads for my beloved drama queen soloist liv, so here’s a little spring fling plot call for anyone open to writing with her during the event!

she’s going to be performing at the everland tulip festival and attending the allure korea charity auction, so if your muse is showing up to either, i’d love to cook something! she tends to come off quiet and elegant in public but anyone who’s spent ten minutes with her knows she’s actually full of dry sarcasm, unspoken theatre kid chaos, and a deep love for snacks. she’s good at slipping in and out of conversations unnoticed, but her fans would kill for crumbs, so she’s on her best behavior (sort of)

liv didn’t bother with pleasantries. she never really did when it came to seungjae anymore. just dropped her bag by the door, kicked off her sneakers, and padded across the floor with socked feet and the kind of slow, sleepy shuffle that only came from being really off-duty. one sock came halfway off in the process. the other didn’t make it past the threshold of the couch. she flopped down without grace, curling her knees to one side and letting her head rest against the cushions like she might never move again.

jae’s apartment was warm in a way hers never managed to be. soft lighting from the tv. a hint of vanilla from some candle or snack or detergent she couldn’t place. her body was still sore in that dull, satisfying way that only came after a good show—the kind of ache that reminded you what you’d pulled off. waterbomb had been a rush. thrilling. exhausting. and loud in every sense of the word. the travel thereafter? a reminder that even idols were only human- and she definitely wasn’t spared.

this, though? this was the part she didn’t realize she’d been waiting for. quiet. unhurried. a soft place to land where no one needed her to be impressive.

seungjae’s fist shot up in victory beside her, and liv didn’t even flinch. didn’t bother lifting her head. she just sighed, low and exaggerated, and reached for the controller like it might save her from having to stand up again.

“wow. congratulations,” she said sarcastically. “you beat someone running on convenience store ramen and stress. history will remember your bravery.”

she turned her head just enough to squint at him from where she lay, the faintest glint of amusement flickering behind her otherwise unimpressed expression.

“and you picked peach again. i’m not judging. just observing. patterns, and all that.”

her fingers moved lazily over the buttons, half-setting things up again. and then, without warning—without drama—she shifted. one easy, fluid movement as she adjusted her position and tilted sideways, head coming to rest lightly in his lap like it was the most natural thing in the world. no commentary. no question. just a slow blink up at the screen, completely composed.

if it happened to mess with his focus a little? oops, oh well.

“go again,” she murmured, voice light. “might as well let you stack your win streak while i’m feeling generous. morale support and all that.”

her arm curled loosely over her middle as she settled further into place, shoulders relaxing into his legs like they’d been made for this. she didn’t look at him—kept her eyes on the screen instead, like she didn’t know exactly what she was doing. her tone stayed easy. almost lazy. but smug, too. just a little.

“plus…” a faint smirk tugged at the edge of her mouth. “you look really good when you’re smug about something small.”

she let it hang there. didn’t follow it up. didn’t look to see if he was reacting. just focused on the screen like she hadn’t just lobbed that line into the air and left it to sizzle.

“one more race,” she added, already queuing it up again. “then i’m stealing your blanket and falling asleep right here. do what you want with that information.”

by now, seungjae’s pretty sure that liv’s pretty familiar with his apartment. where the drinks are, the snacks, guest toiletries, and what not. despite living on his own, seungjae at the very least enjoys having a clean home.

so when liv arrives, seungjae knows he doesn’t need to take any sort of extra step to make the house ‘cozier’ than it is. set up any sort of mood. he knows very well what sort of arrangement this is. it’s one that works the best for both of them too. they’re good friends, which makes everything a lot more easier, and a lot less complicated. it’s the complications that come with these things that always mess with seungjae’s head anyway.

somehow, his schedule hasn’t been insanely packed. his usual filming for his show, and if anything, seungjae’s been busying himself with trying to find the perfect song for a comeback. so he thinks he needs this, some relief, some tension to get off his back. which is exactly why he’d asked liv if she was free to meet up.

and so here they were in his living room, bodies against the couch, as the air around them tensed. “liv – ah, liv! there… – yes!” yes! seungjae stands up, pumping his fist in the air. “haha, yes, i beat you again. that’s what? 2 out of 3? you really suck at mario kart,” he raises a brow, proud of himself for this ( somewhat small ) accomplishment.

sure, this hadn’t been his original intention when he’d invited her over. if anything what he’d envisioned involved a lot less nintendo switch, and a lot more warm bodies. but this is fine, if anything seungjae enjoys this quite a bit. “again, let’s go again. princess peach is honestly awesome, liv. she’s unbeatable, for real.”

At Hyorin’s soft chuckle over the outfit game, Rena smirked. “Complimenting all the cute ones and going dead silent at the bad ones? Feels too obvious. I say we just give silent scores and let the suspense haunt them.” She lifted her fingers as if holding up an invisible scorecard. “Nine. Two. Negative one.”

She barely glanced at the screen before pretending to rate whatever unfortunate outfit was on display now, knowing full well Hyorin would play along even if she pretended not to.

The tteokbokki comment, though, made her let out a short laugh, eyes flicking toward Hyorin with something almost—almost—approving. “So you admit you’re using me for snacks. At least you’re honest.”

She reached for her phone, preparing to not-so-humbly beg her manager to make the stop on their way back to the venue. even though she knew there was no way she and hyorin were going anywhere, it was fun to entertain the idea that she sort of had someone on call for silly things like snacks.

“If we timed it right, we could sneak out.” Her tone was entirely too casual, as if she were making an actual, logical plan. “We just need a solid excuse. Something so ridiculous they won’t even question it.”

She shot Hyorin a sideways glance, an eyebrow raised, like she was actually daring her to come up with something.

“Well? What’s our cover story?”

hyorin lets out a snort because rena's right, and that's probably a big reason why she doesn't let too many people get close to her. who knows what they'll start spouting about her behind her back, right? not that she's had it happen to her just yet, but she knows the likeliness of it happening at all was simply too high.

"we could do it at some overseas concert one day because the foreign staff might not be able to tell us apart." it's a joke, but she thinks there's a possibility it could actually happen. "i'd love to sing your songs anyway. maybe i should post a cover one day. a little shoutout to my lovely liv," she says a little teasingly.

although she dreams of releasing a solo album in the future, the truth is that hyorin doubts she could actively promote as one. she's heard seniors talk about how being in an idol group is probably the best thing to happen because they always have something to fall back on. hyorin agrees, and that's why she adores angelix so much, despite some of her fans insisting that ydh doesn't treat her correctly—she doesn't completely disagree with that part.

nevertheless, she can't see herself as anything more than a group-based soloist, and she doesn't want to be. however, she does want to release music. something that'll let her sing her heart out. but who knows when that'll happen or if it'll ever happen.

"rating outfits actually sounds kind of fun," she admits with a soft chuckle. not that she'd actually agree to doing it, but it sounds like a nice way to get the time going. "we could keep it boring and just compliment all the cute ones we see and stay dead silent if we disagree with any of the styling choices."

she wasn't even sure what group was performing right now—she lost interest after her own setlist was up—but there was bound to be a few god awful outfits. there always are.

"tteokbokki is the best way to get me to stay," she commented before stretching out her arms and leaning back into her chair. "with how much time we have left, it'd be nice if we could like leave for a meal." but hyorin knows she's speaking into the abyss because there's no way that'd be allowed.
