All the sad and reddie in their final scenes together and why I’m crying

• The echo of Richie and Beverly’s words of encouragement was what got Eddie to face his own fear and stick with the others until the end, with Richie’s in particular focusing on how brave Eddie is and that he, specifically, knows that Eddie is stronger and better than he’s giving himself credit for. Richie’s voice went soft and Eddie, despite all their banter, trusted him and accepted this for himself.

• As Pennywise started to morph into its brutal form, both Eddie and Richie run off together to the set of doors. People have already touched on this, but the very scary being a closet initially and panning back to both was rather telling (cough cough it was about being in the closet).

• The constant bickering and bouncing off each other, despite the stressful situation, venting off their anxieties.

• Both of them cooing and melting as soon as the Pomeranian sits for Richie, falling into a glimpse of what they’d be like together, being soft over a dog and, frankly, complete idiots in the best way (who doesn’t love the idiots in love trope? Sure they could be smart, but wise? Hell no) (also, the “next time?!”)

• Richie getting caught by the dead lights in a direct parallel to Beverly in chapter one, eventually getting saved by true love (Ben for Beverly, and now Eddie...)

• Eddie believing in both Richie and Beverly’s words and spearing pennywise right throw the mouth, causing it to impale itself in the formation around it. He saves Richie and immediately runs to him

• Eddie going to gush about his victory to Richie, rather than the others around him. Him crouched directly over Richie, not helping him up, but wanting to be close and is absolutely elated.

• “Richie, I did it!” Eddie being so proud for his act of bravery and saving Eddie and possibly killing IT and is genuinely euphoric from his actions and wants to tell the person who’s opinion and thoughts matter most to him

• Eddie having no fear and therefore no flavor to IT, only being a threat to its being, so Pennywise, having no real use for Eddie, kills him first. And rightfully so, it would make Richie’s fear more delicious in the long run.

• Pennywise stabbing directly through Eddie’s torso, impaling him completely and blood spilling onto Richie’s chest as he can only watch. The desperate and soft “Richie, Richie” before Eddie gets tossed aside like nothing and falls hard down into a pit

• Richie running to Eddie and being the first of the Losers there. Richie trying to stop the bleeding with his own jacket, while Eddie clenches his hands onto Richie’s shirt, holding him so tightly.

• Richie helping carry Eddie to leave

• Eddie’s last words we hear being their own personal running joke. Knowing that him and Richie shared actual final words that weren’t shown because Richie stayed back with Eddie while the others worked on killing Pennywise

• Richie being so happy to tell Eddie that they killed IT, but having no reaction. “Eddie. Eddie!” As he holds Eddie’s cheek. Beverly tells him he’s dead, but he insists he’s not, that he just needs help. Everyone but Richie has accepted this

• The world is crashing around them and they have to go, but Richie only hugs Eddie and runs his hand through his hair and cries. He has to get physically pulled away because he’d die there if not. He wanted to die there.

• Being dragged all the way to the front of Neibolt, and even then, Richie screaming Eddie’s name and desperately reaching out to the collapsing house. He still wants to help Eddie and still can’t even imagine what his the world would be like without him. It’s pointless but he keeps trying (wanting to die)

• Cleaning Eddie’s blood from his glasses. Later being revealed that dropped them because he got so emotional over it all.

• Hearing jokes from the other losers about how Eddie would hate cleaning off in the dirty water of the Quarry. Everyone is fond and quiet, but it pans to Richie and he’s sobbing with his hand over his face. His first love just died and it’s so much.

IT spinoff where the big turtle brings back everyone that pennywise killed in its last few cycles and we see bill sitting at home when suddenly his phone rings and theres a man on the other end who says that his name is georgie and that he has so many things to tell him.

then we see richie watching tv when the doorbell rings and when he opens it, eddie stands in front of him and richie cant believe what hes seeing and believes that this was a cruel trick of some kind but then eddie says his name and eddie touches him and hes actually there and richie breaks down crying and thanks every single god there is for having returned eddie to him.
