There’s always that kind of student who jokingly throws something weird in a PowerPoint or an essay and then forgets to edit it out (I’m guilty of this) and Hotch is the kind of guy that when the student realizes they did it they freak out. He looks like an asshole and he’s probably going to really deduct some points but he doesn’t.

He sees the formatting as “Essay # IDFK for the big lawyer DILF” and he just grades it and at the end throws in “it’s spelled H-O-T-C-H-N-E-R” and it’s mortifying but he didn’t take any points away

okay but hear me out, motorized scooters are like,,, a significant method of transportation on college campuses now and i cannot stop thinking about a young spencer reid scootering to class. like imagine ur a regular caltech student minding ur business and u look over and see this fucking 12 year old with the most horrible transition lense glasses in the wackest polo-khaki combo you’ve ever seen flipping a peace sign as he zips past you at the speed of light on his way to ochem and you just have to be okay with that.

untitled princess bride fic: inigo montoya x reader?

a/n: I started watching Criminal Minds over quarantine and the idea of Inigo Montoya and Jason Gideon came to me since I literally can’t see Mandy Patinkin as not Inigo Montoya (and my cousin was super upset there wasn’t more Inigo Montoya x reader fics). So this is probably going to have some CM elements/characters but I think I mostly want to focus on having this as a Princess Bride fic. If you have any opinions on what direction this fic should/could go in, PLEASE let me know! I have the most general rough idea but I’m just genuinely unsure of what I want to write.

warnings: none?, spoilers for a movie from 1987

Prologue

“Goodnight, sleep well, I’ll most likely kill you in the morning.”

These were the words that Inigo and his crewmates heard every night from the infamous Dread Pirate Roberts. Only, Inigo knew what they really meant.

See, after rescuing Buttercup from an impending marriage to Prince Humperdink, Westley had offered his--sorry, the Dread Pirate Roberts’--ship to Inigo. It made the most sense to him; he had his true love with him again, he no longer needed a place in international piracy. And Inigo had finally avenged his father after twenty-some odd years, no longer desiring to be in the revenge business now that he was beginning to be in the backend of his thirties.

Really, their plan was genius.

Westley, Inigo, Fezzik, and Buttercup would return to the pirate ship where Westley would parade still as the Dread Pirate Roberts with Fezzik as his new second-in-command, Buttercup as his new lover, and Inigo as a new crewmate drawn in by the glamorous lifestyle piracy has to offer. They would sail for however long it took to get from Florin’s capital to the Fisherman’s Village just north, and during that time Inigo would secretly learn how to become the next Dread Pirate Roberts with Fezzik while Westley and Buttercup prepared for their new life together once again.

Easy enough, right?

Contrary to popular belief, it was actually that easy.

The hardest part for Westley had been practicing with Inigo to lessen his Spanish accent to more closely match the previous Dread Pirate Robertses’, though they quickly learned that the secret was to slow down his words. Inigo had a bit of a tougher time adjusting in order to prepare for his new role.

The worst part was the haircut.

Since the Dread Pirate Roberts was never seen without his mask anyway--and thanks to Westley for keeping and growing out his small mustache so Inigo could keep his--Inigo didn’t have to do much physically to become the new captain.

After about a month of sailing and practicing speech, mannerisms, and thought processes, Revenge docked in the Fisherman’s Village for a few days during which the Dread Pirate Roberts’ lover left him for some scallywag and one of the crewmen--Joseph? Eh, doesn’t matter--stayed behind. Hardly anyone noticed, with taverns to be patronized, wine to be drunk, and women to be wooed, but the crew didn’t question their fearless captain when his facial hair seemed much darker and far more impressive upon their return to sea.

Acting as Roberts was a bit difficult, as was to be expected, but Inigo took his new responsibilities in great stride. Obviously he had a reputation to uphold, but he did try to implement a more understanding and less chaotic nature. After all, there is so much more to life than feeling bitter.

And after almost a full season of sailing on Revenge, Inigo was finally starting to feel at home.

so I’m writing a princess bride fic (honestly I can’t believe it took me this long but we knew I’d get here at some point) but I’m unsure which direction to take this in. when i first thought of the idea it was as an AU for criminal minds (bc mandy patinkin) but now i’m thinking of making it an inigo montoya x reader fic??? thoughts? opinions?

anyways i’m gonna post (an excerpt from??) the prologue sometime in the next couple hours so yeah let me know if y’all have any thoughts about what kind of fic it should be
