a draft that sees the light of day. Purely fluff.
✦. ⁺ . ✦. ⁺ . ✦. ⁺ . ✦. ⁺ . ✦. ⁺ . ✦.
They know everything you need
LAW tried not to brag about it, of course it wasn't a huge feat, but deep inside him there was that repressed pride every time you thanked him with a big smile. That's why he was always on hand to please you. That meant that whenever you were on your period, your favorite sweets and medicine pills would appear on your bedside table. Or whenever you had a night shift, he would always show up to chat over a cup of coffee made just right for you - strong and sweet, even if he had a cup for himself with a completely different recipe. He would know your favorite food, your favorite book, and everything about the little world around you. He knew how to defend you from your fears, even if it was driving away two little bees that dared to follow you or checking if any food had shrimp that you were allergic to. He could face anything and everything, as long as the reward was seeing you happy.
SANJI naturally tried to please you, it was part of the relationship of course, but something always went beyond that between the two of you. More than your favorite dishes, he knew by heart and sautéed lost recipes from your homeland or even had tried to get as close as possible to the stew you said was popular in your family. The ultimate reward was seeing your eyes light up. Sanji also knew how to listen to you like no one else and you were the only person he would let in the kitchen, after all, he knew that cooking helped you deal with any problem in your mind. He didn't say I love you, not in front of you. He could flirt and say it jokingly with other people but with you it had a different meaning.
They include you in their routine
CROCODILE wasn't a man of feelings. No, that was just a delay for him. What he didn't count on was that one of the affiliates of his company would catch his eye. It wasn't something carnal, which attracted him even more. That's how you went from being one of the company's employees to someone high up in the ranks, which made the line between the two of you increasingly tenuous. He wasn't good with words, with feelings, but somehow his way worked on you and you, unlike him, were great at it. With each day growing closer to his life, it didn't take long for you to end up cuddled in his lap, not being malicious and explaining ideas on how to approach a plan. He was fascinated. He might not be good with words, but he could hear them from your mouth for a lifetime.
ZORO always had to act nonchalant, in his own way. Until you arrived. A ray of sunshine that sometimes forced him to squint to be able to look at you. He didn't expect that such brightness would become essential in his life and he needed to pull you closer and closer. He was terrible with this kind of approach and considering that the crew's cook was one of the only people he could ask for a tip, he preferred to take the risk on his own. At first he invited you for a drink and that night, he had to teach you about beers and alcohol and dealing with your adorable, clingy drunken form, he would never forget the way your arms wrapped around the back of his neck. You seemed natural next to him and that made him pull you even closer. After a while it was as if he had his own private sun by his side. The way your laughter echoed every time he failed to help you train was worth more than words

law x mythical zoan devil fruit eater reader that has some like tiger based devil fruit?💕 law would probably find it cute
Hi! Thanks for the request! I hope you don't mind, but I think that - not on purpose, pinky promise - I focusing more on the zoan side than the mythical one. I hope you can still enjoy it.
✦. ⁺ . ✦. ⁺ . ✦. ⁺ . ✦. ⁺ . ✦. ⁺
Law knew it was a very well-planned ambush, but he believed he could handle it. His belief was soon dispelled when he saw the group scatter and your scream echoed throughout the small forest, scaring some birds and causing a tightness in the chest of your crewmates. It was your scream, a pure noise of horror.
"Captain..." Bepo's voice sounded lower than usual, an overwhelming concern crossing the eyes of those present.
"We need to split up and find her." Law replied, releasing the breath he hadn't even realized he had held. "Bart to the south, Bepo to the north and I'll take care of the other corners. Our meeting point is still the polar tang." The other two agreed and left.
You fell from the tree as soon as you felt the bad taste of the fruit on your palate. It lived up to all the complaints you had heard, it was horrible. The pains went away, but you could feel that your body had changed, you had become something new, but something inside you told you that this was something to be checked later.
Running through the trees, it didn't take long for you to find part of your group - more precisely, your captain in trouble. Without thinking much, you threw yourself towards the man who was attacking him, strangely noticing a huge paw coming out of you. What had you become?
As soon as you defeated him, you could see Law looking at you in surprise and it didn't take long for everything to go black.
Your first thought was "can I stay in bed for another five minutes?" and it passed as quickly as it had appeared, after all, you shouldn't even be there. As much as you tried to get up abruptly, two hands stopped you.
"Calm down! Calm down! It's all right, we're back at the polar tang." Law's voice sounded calm, his hands still holding you by the shoulders. "Are you okay?"
"What happened?" The question worked more like rhetoric, with your mind overwhelmed by memories. "Oh shit, what did I become? Your face was terrifying!"
"About that..." he began, seeming to be searching for something. As soon as he reached the book, he turned the image to you.
A white and huge bengal tiger apparently furious. Next to it was some information about what the animal was.
"A tiger?"
"A tiger." Law said and if you didn't know him well enough, you would say he looked dazzled. "You attacked our enemy and then passed out."
"Shit, what do I do now?"
"We can't go back, I think the best scenario is for you to adapt to the fruit, understand how it works." He explained and tried to sound as welcoming as possible. "But before that, you were already injured before you even ingested the fruit, so you're out of commission for a few days."
"Captain, I should..."
"Rest."
"And me too..."
"Complete rest." He said even more firmly. "Two days, I'll reevaluate you and we'll see how we can test your fruit."
The two days dragged on but still passed. As soon as Law said you were free, you ran to the nearest mirror - and somehow, pretended not to see him and the others following you to spy on what you were going to do.
Trying to concentrate, the first thing you managed to do was transform into a hybrid. Black and white stripes adorned your body along with a feline look and sharp claws.
"I don't think that's what I turned into." You said, turning to the small crowd of people at your door.
"Yeah, it really wasn't. Try to concentrate a little more." Law said and again, the curious glint was present in his eyes. Almost like a fascinated child.
Inhale, exhale. You concentrated as much as possible thinking about what had made you transform and nothing came to mind. Your other option to focus was the image Law had shown you. A huge white bengal tiger with black stripes, sharp fangs and an admirable posture.
"This is it." Law's voice caught your attention and when you opened your eyes, you could see the tiger there in the mirror, in your body.
You felt even stronger and more agile, but it was strange to be in that kind of body, that new kind of you.
"Oh look, she's turned into a kitten!" Bepo was the first to approach and even with the screams asking him to wait, he stroked your head and it was strangely comforting. "See? She's still our crewmate.
"I want to pet her too." Some voices said in unison.
Trying to save you from the many hands that wanted to touch you, Law invented that he needed everyone to leave, giving you time to get used to it.
"I can imagine that everything is different." He bent down to the height of your tiger form. "Can you speak?"
When you tested it, only a roar came out of your mouth, which drew a light laugh from the man.
"Okay, I think it's too early for that." He touched your head and slid his fingers to the back of your ear, giving you a brief caress that made you purr involuntarily.
Law just smiled at you and stood up, waving before leaving you alone. He would resist admitting it, but you had become even cuter.
It wasn't long before you returned to human form and established the agreement that you would gradually try stay in your animal form, trying to get used to it and Law couldn't take his eyes off you.
He had already caught you licking your own paws and even trying to nibble Bepo - who ran around the entire submarine - besides Shachi and Penguin having discovered that you would react like any other puppy when seeing a ball or a string hanging down. You had noticed that you had instincts that went beyond your will too.
Law tried to just enjoy it, but it was impossible not to want to pet you as soon as you lay down at the foot of his table for a nap or when you - in your tiger form - tried to steal the snacks from his food plate. It was adorable, but he wouldn't admit it.
On cold nights, the group would cuddle up to you and Bepo trying to find warmth in your fur - even Law would get between the two of you. And in the heat, everyone else had to deal with the tantrums of the two of you too.
And that's why Law would always give you ice chips, and that Bepo would never know that you would earn a little more. And also that Law would always give you some kind of affection whenever he passed by you. Having a tiger on board wasn't as scary as it seemed.
Extra:
With all the tests, changes and incidents that a pirate life can have, you hadn't told your allies about your transformation and that was all Law needed to take away Kid's peace.
While the two were talking, you silently transformed into a tiger and appeared behind him. The man's first reaction was to scream in fright, moving away and cursing Law for not helping him. As soon as he got ready to attack, Law promptly acted, taking you away and placing you next to him while, amid cynical laughter, he explained to Kid that you were his partner. And as always, his tattooed fingers slid through your black and white fur. The gesture becoming a sweet and involuntary habit.

I was the same growing up and it SUCKED! It's like none of your girl classmates see you as a girl and the boys know you're not a boy, so you're like some third thing AND the cute clothes are never in you size so you gotta go to the old lady section and look like the mother of the bride while your friends look like cute barbies 😩😩 (Also doesn't help that I have PCOS so I have a deeper voice and grow thick facial hair, I hate it here sm lmaooo)
I understand, it's really really really hard.
I live in a small, almost rural town, and this point you mentioned about clothes haunts me to this day! Either I buy online or I look like an old lady.
I remember when I started wearing glasses and braces (I was lucky enough to need both within a month of each other) I was happy because people could talk about something other than my body.
There are some traumas that stay with us, but I bet we'll get over them little by little.
I really hope you're doing well and I can honestly tell you that you're a sweet and kind person <3 <3 <3

The dress
Law x F!Reader
A night trying on clothes with your best version looks better than you imagine.
warnings: F!Reader has some insecurities, I wrote this thinking about a plus size/chubby girl, but it's not very detailed. Below, I'll leave the color of the two main dresses I thought of, as for the model, it's up to your imagination: Pink dress - #e75480 Green dress - #808000
Law was known for being observant. This was nothing new to anyone.
He knew Shachi's allergies inside out, he had memorized Ikkaku's PMS period, after all she became a terrorist, and he knew perfectly well the ideal temperature for Bepo's baths. He knew everything that was going on with his crew, including you.
You had been part of the Heart Pirates for longer than you could count on your fingers. Being a pirate was basically what you knew how to be and do, and that required a different way of life. No fears, no loopholes, and no hesitations. But your captain knew better.
For some reason he refused to name - in fact, he was somewhat wary of such a feeling - you were the thing Law liked to watch the most. Like the time you almost got caught by the marines because you "got distracted" watching a romantic play on a certain island. Or how you spent weeks without talking to Shachi and Penguin, claiming you were just in a bad mood. In reality, they had invited you to go to the circus and you hated it, even if he didn't know it.
Law noticed how you tried hard in every fight, in everything, always lifting more weight than was necessary. You had always had this thick skin that you refused to admit. Not to mention the self-deprecating comments. Law made sure to intervene with the mere excuse that he wouldn't accept anyone talking badly about any of his crewmates, not even you about yourself.
The small island where they had stopped to refuel this time seemed to be something very calm. Lots of little shops, families having fun and no sign of the marine. Great for him and for the list of things he needed to buy. This time, you had been invited to be his companion.
"We also need some kitchen supplies, the basics, you know?" you pointed out.
"Okay, we can look into that later. Before that, we need to…" Law noticed that your presence was no longer with him at every step. Turning around, he caught you looking at a shop window. "Something interesting?"
"Oh no, no. It just distracted me." You tried to hide it as best you could, but it was completely in vain. "We can move on."
"No, I want to know what distracted you." He insisted. "Was it the white nightgown?"
"No, jeez."
"The purple dress." He insisted, knowing that you would deny it one by one. But he would never miss the chance to tease you.
"Too much purple."
"The pink one?" He asked and saw you hesitate. "The pink one, then. Do you want to buy it?"
"No need, Captain." you insisted as you watched him walk towards the door.
"Okay, do you want to steal it then?" he muttered and you could see the blue dome form around his hand. On impulse, you just grabbed it and walked into the store.
"Good morning! How can I help the young couple?" a clerk approached the two of you with a noticeable false friendliness. You knew Law was holding back from rolling his eyes.
"We're not…"
"She wants to try on the pink dress in the window." Law cut you off, speaking directly to the clerk.
"The pink one, the one over there?" the woman pointed and you nodded.
In a way that you could easily tell the woman was disgusted. She stopped you next to the mannequin and looked between you and the piece.
"Honey, I don't think this type of clothing is for you."
"What do you mean it's not for her?" Law could see you practically cringing in embarrassment.
"Well, just notice the difference between the mannequin and her, simple as that." A bitter and fake smile left the woman's lips.
Across the room, you could see another attendant and two other customers looking at you, whispering to you.
"Okay, thanks." You left the store without even looking back.
"That woman is lying." Law soon appeared behind you, seeing you walking quickly. "The dress would look good on you and I don't know anything about it."
"Law, can you leave this aside?" You asked, as he tried to keep up with you.
"I shoud go back there." He insisted and only then stopped in front of you, seeing your eyes flooded.
"It's okay." You gave him your best smile. "These types of clothes aren't made for me anyway." You took a piece of paper that was in your pocket. "Back to the list, we have to get sugar, flour…"
Your voice sounded like a background while Law put some pieces together in his head. Was that why you kept some aspects of your personality out of reach of others?
He needed to do something, even if it was just about the dress.
The day passed quickly, as did the beginning of the night. What you didn't expect was to find your captain at your door during the night, saying that the two of you had an important mission.
"Where are you taking me?" You followed him through the practically empty city, except for the occasional passerby who was excitedly leaving a bar.
"Just follow me." Law simply said.
The familiarity of the path became clear as soon as the two of you stopped in front of the same store in that morning. Standing next to you, your captain simply looked both ways to see if there were any witnesses and with a wave of his hand, the two of you were inside the empty store.
"Law, are you crazy?" You turned to him indignantly, who only maintained a calm expression, a slight smile on the corner that was reluctant to appear.
"You wanted to try on the dresses here, didn't you?"
"The attendant made it very clear that they don't fit me." Your frustrated tone didn't go unnoticed by him.
Law analyzed you for a few more seconds, watching you look around the store as if some invisible line was preventing you from exploring everything.
"We both know that was a lie, don't we? Just rudeness from a woman who was at least envious."
"And is there anything here for her to be envious of?" You pointed out, still feeling shy, but unable to resist touching the expensive fabrics.
Law looked at you again, a sigh released almost involuntarily. If only you knew.
"And there's something not to be jealous of." He murmured and picked up a blue dress first, handing it to you. "Since you're in doubt, start with this one."
Feeling your cheeks burning, you picked up the piece and guided yourself by the cracks of light coming from the street, you managed to get to the dressing room. The piece itself was beautiful but it really didn't seem to be suitable for your body - maybe it was just your biased gaze. After putting your uniform back on, you went back to find Law, who had already settled down on one of the benches.
"Did something happen?"
"No, I just don't think it looks good." You hung the dress back on the hanger.
"That's hard to know since no one has shown it to me." He said in the most cynical way possible.
"Do you want to see?" The enthusiasm in your voice lit up the whole place - at least in his eyes.
"Sure, we have until dawn to stay here. Please entertain me."
"Oh my, okay." A giggle escaped your lips as your hands reached for the next piece. "What do you think of this one?"
"I thought you liked the pink one in the window."
"Too girly, don't you think?" The insecurity was evident in the way your face contorted. Law could see from afar that this was the one you were eager to try on.
"No, but the best for last. Go and try on the green one."
You nodded and walked back towards the dressing room. The new piece, in an olive green shade, seemed to suit your body better. The outline followed your structure perfectly and matched your skin tone perfectly. It was beautiful, but it still wasn't perfect.
"You okay?" Law's voice startled you with its proximity, indicating that he was just behind the curtain that separated the dressing room from the rest of the store.
"Yes, well, I need some opinions on this dress." In a burst of courage that seemed to be lacking in you, you opened the curtain, coming face to face with him leaning against one of the hangers. "What do you think?"
"It looks good." He said in a sincere tone - and indeed simpler than his thoughts desired - he tilted his head from side to side, analyzing the piece. "It suits you."
"Thank you."
"What color do you want to try on now?"
"Aren't you going to try anything on? I bet there must be suits and jackets somewhere in here." You left the dressing room, taking him by the hand and heading to the other side of the store.
Walking past some racks of clothes, you finally found the men's section. Suits, jackets, hats, ties and everything as per the dress code. Standing on tiptoe, you managed to reach a top hat and placed it on your own head.
"Now my look is complete, your turn." You grabbed the closest suit jacket and handed it to him.
"Are you really going to make me do this?"
"Well, since we're here, I don't see any problem." Your smile was more insistent than any words Law could try to counterargue.
In the end, you were already stacking two hats on your head, a suit jacket three times bigger than your body on your shoulders, and a monocle. Law was wearing a red suit jacket, with a tie that was uneven against his body.
"What do you think?" He opened his arms, demonstrating the look.
"Moribund, at least." You answered, getting rid of some men's clothing on your body. Just like you, Law began to take off the extra pieces, keeping the tie in his hands.
"The best for last?" He indicated the place where the pink dress was still in the window and again, abusing his power, he exchanged the tie he was holding for the dress. "I'll be waiting outside."
You went back to the dressing room once more. The dress, in a dark shade of pink, was well-crafted, so as not to be flashy but to show off every inch of your body. It seemed molded to you, designed for only you to wear. Except that the clasps seemed too far away for your hands. The words came out of your mouth involuntarily, so much ecstasy and relaxation that you had been experiencing for the last few hours.
"Law, can you help me?"
Before you could process what he had asked, he had already opened the cloth that separated the two of you. His eyes were lost in yours for a few moments, even though you were all contorted trying to somehow make the hooks work.
"I can't reach them." You turned your back, hoping that would hide the wave of shame and anxiety that had hit you.
"Let me see."
It was supposed to be an easy task, it should have been an easy task, but it became impossible when you felt his fingers against your skin, adjusting the fabric. He noticed it too, since the small path of hairs under your skin immediately stood on end.
On another occasion, Law's rational side would speak louder, he would shout at the top of his lungs that there was no place for any kind of feeling, not with a person from the same crew. But he couldn't help the itch in his own hands, he let his tattooed fingers slide briefly under your skin. He knew that the movement was completely unnecessary to close the dress. You knew that the movement was completely unnecessary.
Even so, he continued and closed each clasp slowly, savoring the little moment of the two of you there, which who knows when it would happen - and if it would happen - again.
"There, dress closed." His voice faltered for a brief moment, sounding hoarse than natural.
"So… what do you think?" You turned to face him.
The piece fell perfectly on your skin, adorning every feature and even with the low light there, Law could see you perfectly. The day must have been about to dawn, since you seemed even brighter in his eyes. The contrast between the light on your skin and the shine in your eyes was intoxicating.
"Perfect." He answered as if it were obvious, as if he didn't understand why there was doubt behind your eyes. "You look beautiful."
"Don't I look like I'm about to go to a ball or something?" You turned briefly to the mirror.
"Still, beautiful."
"Stop it." You laughed more out of shyness than any other feeling - even though it felt like your heart was going to jump out of your mouth.
"I'd take you to a ball, right now."
"Right now?" You replied in pure disbelief, knowing that this could just be a joke from your captain. Or maybe some bad joke that life was offering you. "I'm definitely not the girl you take to the ball."
"Why not?"
"You're really going to make me answer, aren't you?"
Law seemed to think for a few more seconds, considering if he should take such action. If he should finally stop just watching you and be part of this narrative that he loved to watch.
"Will you dance with me?"
"Dance? Wait, you're not taking this ball thing seriously, are you?" You insisted and saw him still have his hand there.
"I promise you won't even win a prom queen title, but at least you'll be entertained. I'm known for my friendliness." He smiled cynically, which soon turned into something sincere as soon as you accepted the hand he offered you.
His other hand soon reached your waist and you began to move from side to side, without much choreography or rhythm.
"Like I said, I'm known for my friendliness and not for my ability to dance." He pushed you away and, a little disconcerted, spun you around and pulled you back.
"For someone who's dancing without any music, you're doing a great job."
You laughed, briefly resting your face against his chest. He murmured your name softly, like a little secret between the two of you. Something private and locked in that magical moment.
"I'd choose you for the prom. Not for the dancing, we're both terrible at it." You both laughed lightly in unison. "But because it's you. Because you're the person who's there, always pretending to be tough, but can't resist kittens, ballet performances and children playing, not to mention your irrational fears of clowns and needles." His hand that was next to yours rose and separated from your fingers, still keeping one stuck to the other, emphasizing the difference in size. "And of course, about how you always have glitter on your notes and hands without meaning to." The small particles still sparkled against your fingers. "You're cute and adorable, even when you pretend you're not."
"And would that be a big problem?"
"Only for me, who has a huge soft spot for cute things." His hand separated from yours and cupped your face. "May I?"
Without thinking much, just intoxicated by the feeling of being held by him, you just nodded. Law's lips touched yours urgently, but almost as if he guessed that this was so new to you, the urgency turned into a breeze as fresh as that night. As he explored your lips, his fingers reached your face, giving a brief caress, somehow pushing away the anxiety under your skin.
"I'm sorry. I mean, I've never done this and I've always thought about you, but…"
"It was perfect, you're perfect." His lips gave you a quick peck and he took a serious stance, looking around and before he could warn you, you both heard the screams.
"Mom! Someone came into the store."
In the midst of the fright, you only had time to grab your uniform thrown in the dressing room before your feet left the ground. When you noticed, you were already outside the store, being carried by your captain. An exchange of glances was enough for the two of you to laugh together and he gently placed you on the ground.
"Thank you for today."
"I'm the one who should thank you."
"And now, what do I do with this dress?" you pointed to the piece you were still wearing.
"You keep it. It would be a good piece to wear on our next date."

And then I was thinking about how my favs would think about this and of course, as if this were anything new, my fav character - Law
I believe he would be sweet, you know? Like, for him it wouldn't make sense for there to be this difference between being delicate, being sweet regardless of weight or body. I think he would try to demonstrate it in a practical way.
Just leaving this thought here

Flesh and bone, rag and cloth
Sabo x F!Reader.
summary: how to deal with a desperate situation? After being one of Doffy's victims, you reflect on the consequences with someone important.
warnings: nothing major. Mentions of dressrosa, f!reader was a rag doll.
Flesh. You could feel flesh. And bones, and hair, and fingers.
You were - for some reason that you weren't yet so lucid - becoming yourself again. Regardless of who had done such a thing, you would be grateful, after all, being a rag doll for three immense months was exhausting. Both mentally and for the threads that sewed your false body, which were far from being a resistant material.
Walking through the factory that had been tortured by your tormentor, you briefly forgot the chills it gave you when you saw a familiar face, a comrade in cause, fight and room: Koala.
Apart from the emotions and the huge jump you made towards her - which sent you both to the ground - the girl made a point of explaining a little of what had happened while they dealt with the whole problem.
In short, you had ceased to exist for them for that three long months. You had been sent to Dressrosa for reconnaissance, you had hesitated and ended up being caught by one of Doflamingo's commanders. From that moment on, you had become a rag doll that, defying any and all laws of physics, could walk, move and talk.
Even with the commanders wreaking havoc on the place, with all the armed escape and new information that Koala was trying to pass on to you, something still kept hammering at you: you had been forgotten.
Not as something common, something like a few minutes. For three months, they had no idea who you could be. It was as if they didn't see you in photos, as if they didn't notice your absence; after all, in those three months it was as if you were never meant to be part of the revolutionary army.
Thoughts plagued your head for the rest of the day and the night that followed. What happened to your things? Did no one think to check on you? And Sabo, what did he think of that?
Your friendship with Sabo became closer every day before you left on your mission. So close that it was hard to define it as a fine line between friendship and anything more intimate. Did he miss you?
Well, you were feeling his, and Koala briefly explained about Luffy's presence and you understood the importance of it to Sabo. There was no point in questioning it. Just as there was no point in talking to others, sitting down to eat or anything like that, you were displaced from the world outside the Smiles factory.
The outside of the ship under the moonlight became your best company that night, a way to try to understand what you had lost - and why it seemed like no one had lost anything but you.
"Do you plan on standing there all night, like a doll?" Seeing your surprised look at the boldness of the joke, Sabo immediately regretted his words. "Okay, too early."
"You're right." You simply answered, going back to contemplating the vast sea. Even lit only by the moon, it was still stunning.
"Horrible joke aside, you should be resting." He sat down next to you without ceremony. "And you should have eaten properly."
"Yeah, I should."
"Do you want to talk?" That sounded like a request, in a way you could understand why Sabo needed to talk to you. It had been three months, so many things could have happened. So many feelings could have been erased. "I know you."
"Well, for a while you didn't. No one knew me." You cringed, feeling goosebumps just remembering those desperate moments. "You have no idea what it's like to just disappear, to just be forgotten by everyone. It's been three months of being a complete void… Never mind, I don't want to stress you out with that." You shrugged, noticing that even though he was paying attention, Sabo still seemed to be far away thinking about something that went beyond the presence of the two of you.
"You're right, I have no idea what it's like to be forgotten. However, I think I'm an expert at forgetting."
"Oh Sabo." Regret crawled over your skin. Out of all the people there, maybe he wouldn't be the best person to talk to about this subject. "Forgive me, I hadn't thought about that."
"I can assure you that forgetting or being forgotten hurts. It's an emptiness that won't go away, but we learn to deal with it." He tried to give his best smile. "At least I've been trying."
"I know I'll get over it, but still, the fear is still inside, you know? What if you didn't show up or if your brother didn't end up with that idiot Doflamingo? You would forget me forever. I would be erased from existence."
Sabo analyzed you for a brief moment. The moonlight illuminated your face even more, in his eyes, beautiful even though it was furious, indignant. Scared.
"In those months, it seemed like something was missing, I just couldn't say what. Still, I kept separating jelly beans by color. I still collected tulips to leave on my desk and I couldn't even leave my clothes lying around without imagining a voice from beyond scolding me." He listed with a slight laugh escaping his lips. "You are ingrained in us, in the best of ways, you're in the way Koala fixes her hat or even in Iva's jokes. You can't be forgotten, not even if you wanted to."
"How do we deal with this? With this butterflies in our stomach that we get, that stupid thought of "What if". I know I'm here, that I'm fine, but if I close my eyes, I see it all over again, you know?"
"We deal with it… not by dealing with it. That old boring thing of one day after another makes sense. You crying or fighting or wanting to swim back to what's left of Dressrosa won't change anything at all." He saw you huff, frustrated. Which again, made him laugh. "I wish I could tell you something better, but that's it. One day after another."
"Okay, one day after another." You gave up, feeling him lean over and take your hand. "Weird, huh?"
"What, a hand?"
"Fingers. I mean, I've been without them for three months, they look like big sausages!" you laughed, as he kissed each of the fingers on your left hand.
"It's good to see them here."
"That's weird."
"Are you going to tell me you forgot how to use them?" Sabo commented in a clear joking tone, his face lighting up when he saw you pout. "Unbelievable. Did you really forget?"
"Sabo!" you took his hand, as if the touch, now filled with his laughter, burned you.
"Don't tell me that's why you've been avoiding dinner?"
"Have you tried holding chopsticks with that?" you raised both hands, seeing the blond laugh even more. "I hate you!"
"That's something I definitely don't want to forget." he wiped away a fake tear, as he forced himself not to laugh anymore. "Okay okay, I've stopped laughing. Shall we go?" he stood up and stretched his hand towards you.
"Do you intend to joke about this?"
"Maybe. My idea is to steal some food, go to the room and I'll help you with this new problem." He insisted and you accepted, standing up.
"Thank you Sabo." Any other words you could say were muffled against his chest, while Sabo's arms held you in a firm embrace. His lips touched exactly on your forehead, while the words were almost as silent as the night.
"I didn't know there was anything wrong, I just knew something was missing. It was you." He stopped himself, allowing himself to brush his lips under the top of your head in a chaste kiss. "We'll get through this together, I promise."
You pulled away just enough to nod, your eyes flooded, and after long minutes of hugging, Sabo began to guide you to the inner area of the ship, still touching you. His hand on your waist, while guiding you, gave you goosebumps. God, is wonderful to be flesh and blood again.
"If you want, I can feed you. Like a bird, you know?" he suggested, seeing you immediately become indignant.
"Sabo… I hate you." Despite that, the laughter of both of you sounded in unison as you continued.

I saw that a good number of followers arrived recently. Well, welcome and enjoy reading. Thanks for the comments and reposts. 🥰🥰
There are those who have been here for a while: have I been away? Yes, I know.
But the update on that is that I resigned from one of my jobs yesterday. In other words, more free time, more stories (and, heaven help me, less panic attacks)
Thank you to those who arrived, to those who are still here and to those who, for whatever reason, are leaving. You matter ❤️

Hiiii!! I love your writing and was wondering if you’re still accepting requests? If so could I have one where reader is dressed in a similar outfit to Nami’s purple Zou outfit and there’s a big party happening and reader gets self conscious bc no ones talking to her during said party so she leaves to go back to her room that has a balcony and as she’s staring down at the party Law comes in to see why she left so she like tells him she feels ridiculous in her outfit and it turns out that Law was jealous that other people got to see her in such an outfit because he likes her so much that he was staring people down so no one would take her attention and he confesses how he feels under the stars on the balcony? and maybe there’s smut🤭🤭🤭 You can skip this request if you want!! I know i wrote a lot 😅
hello, anyone there?
Sorry for the delay in responding to your request and sort of answering your question, yes, I still accept requests, but I've been working kind of 10 hour days + responsibilities at home, which hasn't given me much time to write.
I made some small adjustments to your suggestion, I honestly hope you don't hate me.
•••
my reach
info: what sensations can a pirate life bring? After a victory, a celebration can mean many things.
warnings: text not proofread, will possibly have some errors as English isn't my first language. a kittle bit angst, F!reader have some insecurities, smut, doing in open skies, a little dirty talk.
For those who haven't reached Zou, this is the reference dress.
You didn't know what was echoing louder at that moment: the drunken voices, the singing or your thoughts. It was a party, you should have been happy or at least a little confident.
After so many fights and disputes, the alliance between the pirates had finally worked out and apparently you would finally have some time of peace. What didn't need many more reasons than this for Luffy, captain of one of the allied crews, to suggest a huge banquet, a party that would probably last for days and no one would question it. The good thing about having other crews together was that the reduced number of women - in the heart pirates it was the large number of two, you and Ikkaku - increased, even if not so radically, just enough to fill the fingers of one hand.
"You really didn't like it?" Nami turned you in front of a mirror, forcing you to look at yourself once more. "It suits you so much."
"I think it looks amazing." Robin added with a simple smile. "And it's a banquet between friends, there's nothing to worry about."
"I agree, but after being so stressed with so many events, I think we deserve a more dressed-up day." Nami added, adjusting one of the straps on your dress. "And also a little alcohol, a little flirting, seriously, being a pirate can't be just that and besides there are so many different people here."
"But don't you think it's a bit much?" Your voice wavered a little and you had to dodge the pillow Ikkaku threw in your direction.
"Don't listen to her. We've been underwater for so long and in our uniforms that I think she's lost her common sense."
"Don't talk nonsense." You shot back, laughing. "Okay, a little alcohol won't hurt." About the flirting part, you don't know how safe you would feel with that.
The main deck of the ship was something almost impossible to cross. Some people walked around each other, singing songs that were almost impossible to decipher, others toasted and competed over how many mugs they could down at once. You just went with the flow, keeping up with the others' hurried steps.
It wasn't long before a drink occupied your hand and you got lost in some almost frivolous conversations. The stress you had recently experienced seemed to prevent everyone from thinking about anything more serious and, to be honest, not even you wanted to get caught up in problems at that moment.
"Ladies." Sanji's voice came across the entire space, in his hand some appetizers and you tried hard to ignore the fact that he was almost drooling. "You are the most beautiful thing my eyes have ever seen, I would write poems about you..."
In a somewhat strange juggling act, you saw him try to balance the tray in one hand and, with the other, twist to alternate between your colleague's hands, placing a kiss on each of them. Except for you, to whom he just smiled in your direction and headed in the opposite direction. Even staring at the other women present, that seemed like a common situation so you allowed yourself to ignore it.
With an almost lame excuse, your feet took you to the other side of the ship, where you could see your captain's sullen face while being disturbed by other crewmates.
"A good victory." You raised your glass, toasting first to Shachi, then Penguin and finally Law, who seemed to be immersed in something inside his own mind.
"Look, I don't think we've ever seen you so..." Shachi couldn't finish speaking before getting elbowed by his crewmate.
"Are you enjoying the party?" Law asked as soon as the two left with some excuse that you didn't try to understand what it was about.
"Yes, as much as possible."
You even thought about commenting on how you had become an outcast, even though in the hours before you had been trying hard to achieve the exact opposite result. However, for a flash, you were sure that Law was analyzing you. From top to bottom, inch by inch.
"Is there a problem, Captain?" A smile filled your lips as you saw him startled as he was pulled out of his own mind.
"Dresses. You don't usually wear them." He seemed lost in his own words. "It looks..."
Beautiful? Interesting? God, the milliseconds of waiting before Law finished speaking seemed like a small infinity of possibilities in your mind. A place where he had a certain captive vacancy, but he wouldn't even dream of it.
"It looks different." He pointed out and you could only nod.
Different. Okay, it's not the worst answer but it's far from a good one. The relationship between the captain and the subordinate of the two of you was intrinsically... different. Strangely comfortable, uncomfortably distant. He would always prefer to discuss some decisions with you and to the jealousy filled with tantrums and laughter of some, he would insist that you were the best cook of the crew. On your side, you loved ask him for tips, from books to medicines, and whenever possible, you would insist on having him stitch you up after some battles. You hated scars and he was the only one who could prevent them. It was a different relationship, he occupied a somewhat different place in you, but that didn't need to be exposed.
Apparently, if the efforts to look even minimally pretty that night didn't affect him, it wouldn't make any difference anymore. With an almost invisible smile on your lips, you just nodded and left him there. You started talking to some, laughed with others, but it didn't seem to work. From the idea of alcohol and flirting, apparently only the first part was working. Heavens, Brook hadn't even asked about the color of your panties.
Luckily, keeping the ships close to each other meant that it wasn't difficult for you to reach the empty deck of the Polar Tang. The sound of the party was getting a little more distant. The full moon illuminated the entire night and, in addition to reflecting on the sea, created an almost distorted shadow of your body. Was that what you were then? You let your hand run over your dress, analyzing every stitch. Nothing was out of place, nothing seemed wrong with the outfit. The problem must be you.
"I would invest a good amount of berries for your thoughts." Law's voice startled you, which made him laugh. "Did you need some time to breathe?"
"Yeah, I guess so." You leaned against the edge of the deck, drowning in your own frustrations.
"I still have some berries to invest." He tried to lighten the mood, leaning against your side. "I know my crew too well. What happened?"
"It's just... is that all there is to a pirate's life?" You turned around, frustrated. "Tonight I wanted to feel something different from all the stress we have. Something more interesting than the smell of gunpowder, than the sting of a blade."
"I think there's enough booze there for you to feel much more than that."
"It's not that, Law. Geez, I dressed in a way I've never dressed before. Makeup, heels, perfume and still, I'm an outcast." you said frustrated and saw a smirk escape his lips. "Man, this isn't funny. I mean, not even Brook cared about my panties?"
"About that..." he began, his fingers adjusting his hat that wasn't out of place, just like a nervous tic. "Maybe someone threatened to throw him into the sea before he could even speak."
"What do you mean?"
"And maybe I told Sanji that if he got close to you his balls would sink to the bottom of the sea too. And maybe I said something similar to Killer, but he's more rational so he didn't need that much of a threat. And I definitely punched Kid."
"You punched Kid?"
"He said some really disgusting things." Law spoke with a frighteningly ordinary naturalness.
However, for you none of that was ordinary. You just stood there, still, watching the little confessions that came out of Law's lips. So he had pushed you away from everyone? That wouldn't make any sense. Unless...
"Apparently I was brave enough to do all that, but I've been a coward in hiding what I feel. You don't look any different, you look beautiful and I can guarantee that I wasn't the only one who thought that."
"You just made sure I didn't know that, right?"
"Sorry." he commented still in a frustrated tone, but taking a few steps enough to stop in front of you. "I like you, I really do. It got to a point where I found myself reading more books just to know what to recommend to you, I found myself hating being a doctor because I have to stitch you up every time you get into a fight at the same time I wouldn't let anyone touch you for that." He sighed deeply. The short distance between the two of you made your fingers itch to hug him. "What you said makes sense, we're pirates, we shouldn't only feel war inside us."
"What else can we feel then?"
Your lips touched before his hands even reached your waist. It was hard to know what had given you goosebumps more: the cold wind against your bare skin, the way your body was leaning against the edge of the deck, making you imminent of falling, or the way he had advanced on you. Definitely the third option.
His tongue began to invade your space, tracing delicious routes through your mouth, a fight for space that you had no interest in winning. His hands traced your curves until they rested on your waist. Whoever invented the theory that two bodies occupied the same place would probably be a good spectator for the way the two of you snuggled together.
Law seemed to have no shortage of air since, when he gave you space to breathe, his lips simply slid to the hollow of your neck. Wet kisses mixed with small grunts that would be marked on your skin, drawn like a map just for him, just for Law.
His eyes met yours as his kisses continued towards the neckline of your dress. A loud request - but still silent - to explore you beyond where his lips could reach at that moment.
"We could go somewhere else." You suggested breathlessly and saw him bury his face in your breasts, sighing deeply. "I really don't plan on being naked here."
"Naked? Nah." Without even hesitating, he supported you on the edge of the deck, preventing you from falling towards the sea by slipping into the gap between your legs. "I've been looking at you in that dress for too long to want to see you without it now."
"You've been looking?"
"Tell me, wasn't that exactly why you put it on?" An involuntary sigh escaped your lips when one of his hands slid down the inside of your thigh. "You drive me insane normally, but this... do you want to know what I thought?"
The question was rhetorical since beyond the moonlight, lust illuminated the eyes of the man tied to you. A moan escaped your lips as his fingers trailed over the damp fabric between your legs.
"Shh, we need to be discreet, okay? Can you be a good girl and stay quiet?" His fingers intensified the pressure, small circles under the damp fabric sending your mind into a spiral. "I promise to take you inside, let you make all the noise you want. And then I'll leave you naked, have all my time just for you."
"What if I want to stay here?" The question sounded like a challenge and you could have sworn that behind the fabric of his pants something had pulsed. "You still haven't told me what you thought, about the dress."
"What I thought..." he gently pulled you down from the support and turned you back to him. Your body automatically leaned forward, seeking contact. "The first idea that came to mind was you like this, on my table. All beautiful ready for me."
His hands adjusted the fabric of your dress so that it was to the side. His nimble fingers traced an indecipherable pattern on the skin of your ass, outlining the thin fabric of your panties.
"May I..." He asked, still circling the piece and saw you nod. With a delicacy unfamiliar to you, you felt him pull the fabric aside.
"Fuck." The word came out of his lips involuntarily. The sight made him hungrier than any dish he had seen at the banquet.
"What else did you think?" You asked, hearing the sound of his zipper.
"You're smart, I believe you know very well what I thought."
Silent kisses ran down your exposed back. The cold night breeze made contact with your damp skin, causing shivers. The first touch of his cock against your pussy elicited a shy moan from you as his teeth scraped your skin, whispering a shh once more, even though thrusting inside you had forced him to press his face against the back of your neck. The almost inaudible sounds that escaped your lips were enough for Law to almost explode right there.
He should have stopped being a coward before. It was only the first time and he didn't know how he could consider staying without feeling you.
"I'm sorry." He said, moving slowly. "You deserved better than the deck of a submarine."
"We're under the stars. Do you want something even better?" You said breathlessly, stretching your hand to reach his dark strands of hair. Law practically put his head under your hand, sinking into your neck. "Law!"
"I told you princess, no noise." He thrust harder, watching you press your lips together and hold back another moan. "Such a good girl, my good girl."
"A p-princess, huh?"
"My princess, yes. All dressed up like that I couldn't think of anything better." You barely understood how he could form a coherent thought while he was thrusting torturously and deliciously inside you. "I could call it an angel too. The way this beautiful pussy is squeezing me is definitely divine." His laugh at your moan sounded almost devilish, however.
The thrusts began to intensify and you pulled his hand that was holding your torso to cover your mouth, vainly containing the moans that escaped. You could already be clawing at the stars when you felt him pulling out of you. An almost drastic fall from the sky you were in.
"I want to look at you, beautiful thing." He turned you around to face him, lifting you up again. "I want to see that beautiful face when you cum."
"Then come back here now." You locked your legs around him, feeling his delicious invasion of you.
His lips once again took yours, just as voracious - if not even more so - than the first time. His coming and going grew louder and louder as he felt your voice vibrate against his. Moans being censored by each other.
"Hold on to me." He pulled away just enough to ask and you readily complied.
The abyss was getting closer and closer, the knot in your belly getting tighter and tighter. You stuck your body to his at first for fear of falling, but each time it became even more of a need to merge. Your screams hid in the small gap between the two of you, your skin would surely be sore at the slightest since his teeth dug in there as he filled you with his seed.
"I think..." he supported you back, still holding your waist with one hand. With the other, he lifted the shirt he was wearing. Both your eyes and his were guided to where your bodies joined. "We made a bit of a mess."
"A bit?" Your finger caught some of your mixed cum, bringing it to your own lips. "Delicious mess."
"Keep it up and you won't be coming back to the party." A light laugh escaped him as he heard you grunt as he pulled out of you. "On second thought, we don't need to go back."
"Law, you're the captain of one of the crews that was more than essential to the conquest."
"Well, that's a good idea." He said as he adjusted his own clothes and then repeated the gesture with yours. "Some clueless people will be able to know that you are out of their reach."
"Am I?"
"If your captain says so, I believe you should agree." He pointed out.
Your hands comforted his cheeks, smoothing every inch you could touch. A calm, almost chaste kiss escaped you. Anyone who saw from afar would imagine it was just a simple kiss and would not even be able to consider what you were doing a short time ago.
"I - I mean, I really want to keep you out of their reach. Only within my reach." That was it, in so much time as captain and subordinate, you had never seen Law look so nervous.
"Sounds like a good plan to me, captain. However, I hope it is reciprocal." He nodded, stealing another kiss from you.
Going back to the party seemed different. As soon as Law led you back to the ship, you let go of each other's hands, a small agreement of secrecy silently negotiated between you. However, you could feel him in you, in unconventional - and delicious - ways. Occasionally, you could feel his gaze burning in your direction, with distant care.
"Can I talk to you?" Zoro's voice startled you before you even noticed his hand on your waist. "Would you like to have a drink somewhere more private?"
"I'm drinking..." You pointed to the mug in your hand, but it took you a few seconds to fully understand what he was saying. "Oh, no. I mean, thank you, but no. I'm accompanied."
"Accompanied? So your captain finally stopped being a wimp?" Zoro saw and glanced sideways, not surprised to see that whatever Robin was talking to Law about seemed like a distant subject. "Nami asked me to do this, to see if he would do something."
"Hey, swordsman." You could hear the irritation in Law's voice from afar and it was clear how unhappy he was at that moment. "Is there a problem with her?"
"No, Captain, everything's fine here." You smiled in his direction and waved at Zoro, who just ignored what Law had said and left.
"So..." You started, trying to give your best mischievous smile. Which was much easier after remembering everything. "My drink is gone and I think I'm tired. I'm thinking about going back to Polar Tang."
"Sure, I can accompany you." Law said in false modesty.
You could count on your fingers how many steps you took towards a more empty place before the starry night turned into a room you didn't usually visit. Your body soon found his bed, your dress turned into a pile of fabric on the floor. His kisses finally freed to explore every inch of your nudity.
"I think I need to make it even clearer that you're out of their reach."

How does it end?
info: yes, we have reached the end of this story! obscenity, of course. Presence of a slightly toxic ex. Sweet boy (and jealous) Law.
italicized text blocks are flashback
MDNI | MINORS DO NOT INTERACT
PART 01 - PART 02 - PART 03 - PART 04 (you're here)
"Do you intend to stay alone there for long?" Your captain's voice caught your attention, dragging you out of a book. "Everyone's going to drink. I think we deserve a celebration."
"I'm right here, captain."
"I insist." He held out his hand, lifting you from the cold floor of the submarine. "I can tell you the end of the book while we drink."
The vivid memory still made you laugh a little. That night, Law not only told you the story of that book, but also the sequel to them, and even so, you read them one by one. At that time, you were still just captain and subordinate. It seemed like something very distant.
You never imagined that you would spend nights stuck in his room, feeling on the edge of precipices full of pleasure. You couldn't imagine that your favorite place to sleep would be one, in your captain's bed, two, in his arms when he refused to go to bed in the middle of the night. Unfortunately, some nights this was impossible, which meant spending a few hours a day in his office, even if it was just to work together and do nothing else.
Your right ear was ringing with the explosion near you, an annoyance that nauseated you and made you dizzy. Who would have thought you would fall into an ambush? Before you could gather the strength to stand up, your feet left the ground and you felt yourself being thrown against someone's shoulders, someone who wasn't wearing the same uniform as you. It was impossible to see the person's face, so you could only pray that they were taking you to a safe place.
The beaten earth floor that you saw below you soon turned into simpler footsteps and cracks against a metal ramp. Trying to stand up, you noticed that you didn't have that much strength and that you could see the symbol of your crew against the yellow wall. You were home.
The sounds were still muffled when you were placed back on your feet.
"You?" Your voice was exasperated as soon as you noticed who had carried you into your submarine.
It wasn't that you hated him or held a grudge against him. But the last thing you expected was to be saved by your dear (not so much) ex-boyfriend. Teru still looked the same as when you broke up and he left the crew, the only thing that had changed about him was his normal civilian clothes.
"Let's disappear from their radar. Everyone at your posts now!" Law's voice sounded too loud for you, forcing you to hide your own head between your arms.
"Captain, I need to talk to you."
"Later." Law's voice sounded even lower as you felt his hands gently rest on your arms. "I'm going to take you to the infirmary."
You expected him to guide you to the place and not transport you with his powers. As soon as the environment transformed into the small white room, you felt one of his hands hold you by the waist and the other lean on one of the walls.
"It's going to be a difficult descent, I'd rather not take any risks."
As soon as the submarine stabilized and you were far enough away from the reach of enemies, Law guided you to the nearest bench, lifting you up and sitting on it without any effort. Quietly, you watched him walk back and forth gathering what he needed. You could tell he was too quiet. The first touch near your ear made you flinch.
"Sorry babe, this is going to bother you a little." He simply said, focused on cleaning the injured area.
He spent a few more minutes cleaning and medicating the area in complete silence. As soon as he finished the area around your ear, he started treating the few wounds spread across your face.
"Is there any salvation for my case? I mean, you didn't say anything."
"Your eardrum is a little damaged, it'll be fine in a few days. Some shrapnel caused the whole problem, so it's pretty easy to heal." he explained in an almost professorial tone.
"Are you sure? You're all tense."
"Do you want the honest answer?" he asked and laughed when he saw your eyes widen in fright. "I'm kidding."
"Still, I can see that something is bothering you."
The hands that were caring for your face went down, contouring your body and resting around you as a sigh that bordered on frustration escaped him.
"I don't know how comfortable I am with seeing you on the shoulders of a man with blood all over your head." he finished, seeing you blink a few times and nod. "Now I'm relieved that it was just that."
"Well, we have to consider that the man who brought me was Teru."
"I couldn't care less about that." Law's professional demeanor slowly faded, allowing him to fit between your legs.
"So I'm discharged?" the tone of your voice along with your fingers trailing a dangerous path up his shirt, towards the back of Law's neck. "I could really use some other treatments."
"You make things a little more difficult." Even if out of the corner of his eye, he followed your nimble fingers and began to undo the buttons on his shirt. "Very difficult."
"I think there's too much adrenaline in my body." The last words came out as a whisper from your lips before you stole his for yourself.
Occupying the little space that still existed between the two of you, Law pulled your thighs in order to fit between your legs while he felt the taste of your tongue against his. Your nails had already found his tattooed abdomen and slid as if you knew every inch of his skin. A path that was becoming increasingly familiar.
"Captain?" Teru's voice caught the attention of both of you, forcing you to move away just enough for Law to be able to answer.
"What do you need?"
"Can I talk to you?" Law's eyes met yours and for a brief moment they seemed to ask permission for him to leave you there and solve whatever problem awaited him. Seeing you nod, Law completely disconnected himself from your body.
"Meet me in my office, I'll be there in a few minutes." the captain replied and took the silence on the other side of the door as an agreement.
"Work calls you." As much as you tried to avoid it, the discouraged tone remained in your voice, which earned a simple smile from the man in front of you.
"Before I go…" Law approached again, this time with no other intention than conversation. "I have a feeling he's going to ask for something and since we're en route, it's going to be very difficult to return to the surface now."
"So we're stuck here with Teru?"
"Is that a problem? I know you broke up amicably, but I don't think it's right to let him stay here without at least asking what you prefer."
"I'd be lying if I said I think it's the most amazing thing in the world to have my ex back here, but he saved me, I think it's the least I owe him."
You explained and saw him nod, processing the words into something that only his head could understand. Law considered walking away for a few seconds, but the doubt that plagued his mind would never allow it.
"Do you still feel something for him?"
"For Teru? I believe that, besides being grateful for his help today, nothing more than that." When you noticed Law's vacant gaze, you didn't hesitate to turn his face towards you. "What are you thinking about?"
"Nothing you should worry." He said in a gentle tone. His lips quickly found the top of your head. "Now go rest."
"But I…"
"Captain's orders." He mumbled with an almost cretinous smile drawn on his lips. "If you behave, maybe you can include a few more things in your rest."
Well, resting wasn't exactly the easiest thing. The injury had been minor and as much as you took Law's considerations into account, something told you deeper down that it was an exaggeration of concern. However, from that moment on, some things started to get strange.
Immediately, it seemed like all eyes were on you. You wondered if they had seen, heard or suspected something about you and Law, but it seemed unlikely. Even more so when Ikkaku pulled you by the arm.
"So… Teru?" she whispered as if you weren't alone there. "Don't tell me you're back together."
"Are you crazy? Never!" the idea would never, ever cross your mind. Even if you were single. Well, technically… "He just happened to be in the right place and time."
"And what happened, were you hurt badly?"
"No, the captain said it was just some shrapnel." You preferred to avoid the more detailed explanation that Law had given. The truth is that the little incomplete session between the two of you had taken up a good part of your memories.
"Hey, I found you!" your ex-boyfriend's voice filled the entire room, with a joy that sounded shrill to your still sore ears.
"I'll leave you two alone." Ikkaku blinked and walked away with a gentle smile towards his former crewmate.
"So, how can I help you?" Your solicitous voice hid your laziness. Honestly, it wasn't like you wanted to avoid him, but you would certainly trade those minutes there for a few more lying in your bed. Maybe with someone else.
"You're still here under Law's orders." He said, trying to bring up a subject that was still unclear to you.
"Of course, it was never in my plans to leave. And you, how has your exploration been?"
Exploring. Ah, the dear excuse for exploring. When Teru decided to leave the crew, he wanted to take you with him. "A great adventure awaits us." But you weren't interested, not at all. In a way, it was as if a weight had been lifted from your shoulders.
"Teru will leave us tomorrow morning." Law leaned against the doorframe, analyzing your figure sitting on the bed. "Have you made your decision?"
"Of course, I never really had any doubts."
"Then why can I see your red eyes from here?" He walked over, leaning on the edge of the bunk. "Do you need me to fix something before he leaves?"
"Fix something?"
"You know, in case he messed up everything." Law explained as if it were obvious, seeing you immediately deny it. "Are you sure?"
"Yes, Captain. Unless he wants you to solve something for him before you go. Then we'd have a problem." You tried to sound more humorous, smiling slightly when you saw the same trace appear on Law's lips.
"Nah."
"Now you take sides?" Your voice came out intoxicated by a light laugh. "That's surprising."
"I mean, you've been here since when Sachi and Penguin couldn't decide on a menu or when my voice wavered much more than my mood." He himself laughed at the realization. "I mean, there are no sides to be taken." He emphasized the plural.
"He and I don't want the same things. I think it's been a while." You simply answered.
"That relieves me. You know, not having to put up with Ikakku burning panties or Bepo devouring everything in the submarine as a form of protest to defend you." he commented still humorously, but his smile quickly disappeared. "Promise you're okay?"
"Yes, Captain."
For a while you lost yourself in the memory, knowing that it had been so long since Teru had left there and things seemed to improve exponentially.
He wasn't bad or that typical evil guy from the books, he just wasn't the right one for you and that was okay.
"And you, after we broke up, did you meet anyone?" the direct question dragged you back to reality, even though you had ignored the entire summary he had given about his last years.
"Yes, I did." you limited yourself to answering. Theoretically, the person you met you already knew, but those were extremely different circumstances.
"Is he here?"
"Can we not talk about it?" you asked and saw him look suspicious. You didn't want to let this conversation go on long enough for a piece of information to be revealed. important thing escaped. "I believe the captain gave you some tasks, I highly doubt he would leave you idly by."
"Of course! Actually, that's exactly what I wanted to talk to you about. He asked me to accompany you during these days."
Law asked Teru to accompany you? That didn't make any sense. Could that be why he had asked if you still had feelings for your ex? No, that wasn't like him. But after the chaotic morning and the flurry of events, you chose not to question Law. Before you were… (again that question in the depths of your subconscious screamed, questioning what you were)… you were captain and subordinate.
These should have been peaceful days. They should have.
You didn't expect that by accompanying you, Teru would practically become your shadow. Lunches, dinners, absolutely all of your free time, the man seemed to occupy every available gap of air that you had. In the distance, beyond the not-so-warm jokes of your friends, you could see a pair of curious eyes. But you had known him long enough to know that there was nothing curious about that.
What used to be an arm's length away seemed like miles and miles. Law seemed to be looking further and further away, and with Teru at your feet, it was almost impossible to find him alone. This forced you to drag him towards the first bathroom you saw, not caring that it was occupied - thank whatever god that could exist, it was emptier than your brain had been in the last few days.
"Why are you avoiding me?" the question came out harshly from your lips, and with Law looking you up and down, it didn't make you any more comfortable.
"I don't want to take up your precious time…" the sentence seemed to die there. "With Teru." except that the last words came out full of venom.
"Law, you misunderstood."
"No, I didn't misunderstood." He had to control himself and stop acting like a bratty child. But it was impossible. Since when was it so painful to see you interacting with someone else? "I understand that maybe the distance between you two made you rethink something, I understand that…"
"Law, look at me." You tried to reach his chin, but insistent knocks on the door stole your attention.
"Hey, are you there?" Teru calling your name, what a surprise! "I need your help."
"You can go." Law murmured, nodding in the direction of the path.
A few more days, a few more days and this whole deception would be over. Maybe you would sit with Law and finally open your heart and let out all the thousand questions you had. Inside you, there was the fear that he didn't have any of the answers.
The answers lost their importance on one of the nights when a weight settled on top of you. As soon as your eyes opened and met Teru's, you saw your life fly like an arrow between your eyes. That was crossing all limits, absolutely all.
Without needing to hold back, you threw him out of bed and flew at him, your hands reaching for his neck. However, his hands raised as if he were surrendering.
"Calm down, calm down." he asked, trying to get away. "I didn't do anything, I wasn't going to do anything. I just wanted to wake you up."
"And this is how you do shit like this?" you yelled, getting off of him. "Have you lost your fucking mind?"
"I just wanted to take advantage of the fact that you're alone here and talk." Your trembling hands slid through your hair, trying in vain to gather some calm. "I realized that I still love you and after all this time. Aren't you tired of this, of this life? I can give you something better if you give me a chance."
Your mouth opened and closed a few times, ferocity and indignation drawn on the expression illuminated by a small lamp that you barely know how you turned on.
"Get out of here." Your rational side spoke louder. Your colleagues who occupied the other dorms didn't deserve to have to hear you freak out.
"I believe…"
"Teru, I'm trying to be rational here so please leave. Don't wait for me to decide to be irrational, beat you up and throw you out to sea. We both know in a fight like this who would win."
The man still had the nerve to give you a hurt look, as if you were the crazy one in the whole story. That night, you didn't sleep anymore. Nor the next two.
Teru continued to be inconvenient, the others, unaware of everything you had been through, continued to laugh. Law continued to become more reclusive. Apparently the hurricane of things was limited to your brain.
Three days of stolen shifts, after all, if you were busy working you could find excuses to avoid Teru. Three days without sleep, with only light meals and a more than questionable amount of caffeine in your body.
The room was full, a dinner almost in a celebratory tone for the farewell of a long-time friend. Coincidentally, it meant that your martyrdom was coming to an end the next day.
Your colleagues - and the enemy in question - chatted animatedly around you. The fish on your plate had already swum more than it should have swum when it was still alive. You were exhausted. It was just another day dawning…
"I mean, I can stay a few more days…" Teru's voice stood out, as he flicked your plate, catching your attention. "I just need the right chance."
The jocular tone, the false humor surrounded by a promise that was taking away your peace. It was as if the entire Polar Tang or all the seas decided to go silent at the same time. Maybe your exhaustion didn't allow you to notice that your voice had escalated many, many decibels. Your hands slammed hard against the cafeteria table, silencing everyone around and forcing the man in front of you to retreat.
"Shut the hell up." you shouted, not caring about the higher scales your voice reached. "Shut up! I'm tired, exhausted! I don't want to go back to you, I don't want to give you any more fucking chances. I want to be able to go to my room or at least eat in peace." The dark circles under your eyes and tired expression even indicated that you were exhausted, but everyone knew that you had lost your limits by letting yourself go like that. "It's your fault that I'm in this state, the man I love barely looks at me and I haven't slept for days! I don't want to hear your excuses, I don't want you to grab me or invade my room in the middle of the night. I'm tired of trying to be even the slightest bit polite, that's enough. I don't want to know about you!" After saying each word slowly, you noticed the scandalous silence around you. Damn, you had put on quite a show.
Leaving Teru, your plate and the curious looks aside, you left the room, looking for the first place you could hide and try to think about what you had said. And you had said too much. Back in the Polar Tang cafeteria, curious looks alternated between looking at Teru and where you were.
At one end of the room, a pair of attentive eyes followed you, while each drop of blood seemed to heat up.
"I hadn't noticed." Law heard someone say, in a low tone.
"I thought he was a good person." Another comment hit him.
He didn't want - in fact, he couldn't - think about anything else after the avalanche of information. As his mind permeated with the man I love that came out of your lips, he couldn't deny that he was seeing red in front of him. There was no anger - in fact, he knew very well that that wasn't the feeling he had for you - that would stop him from wanting to protect you at that moment.
"I need to go…" Teru began, ready to follow you. "I need to apologize to her and…"
"Move and you'll be dead." Law's voice came out in an almost monotonous tone, like someone listing some items to buy for the next trip to the market. For those who knew him, they knew that it was almost the same as a death sentence.
With one last look in Teru's direction, the captain of the Heart Pirates decided to follow you. He knew that by the surprised and furious expressions he saw around the room, Teru wouldn't be able to leave so easily.
Finding you was easy. The door to one of the rooms was open and you were circling around nervously.
and from one end to the other even though there wasn't much space for your hasty steps to go around. Law closed the door behind him and that was enough to pull you out of that trance. The two of you remained still for a few seconds, just contemplating each other's existence. It had been days since you had barely been close, let alone locked in the same room.
"Forgive me." He began, intertwining his fingers and trying not to appear as nervous as he was.
"About what? The one who made a scene now was me."
"For not realizing that so much wrong was happening beneath my ignorance." He took a small step towards you. Looking at him was like approaching a small, defenseless puppy, shy and tired eyes looking at him. "I was blind."
"You were busy." Your trembling voice was almost the same as having a thousand daggers cutting him.
"I should never be when it comes to you. But the fact is, I was blinded by silly jealousy." He confessed and released all the air he barely knew he was holding as soon as his hands reached the sides of your arms. "Tell me what I can do for you."
"I think after this, there's not much else to do, right?" You tried to give your best smile. "I think I just want to get some sleep, that's all. Try to clear up all this mess."
"Do you mind explaining to me better what he did to you?" Law saw you lower your head trying to avoid the question. "If you prefer, we can treat this as captain and subordinate, you fill out some things, everything formalized."
"Because I have a feeling I have more than one option."
"Either you tell me here or in my room, not to me as your captain, but as someone who really cares about you, someone who…" He paused, trying not to pressure you or corner you even more. "Just let me take care of you, okay?"
"I have this feeling that either choice will result in him being kicked out of here."
"That's up to you." That came out of his lips, while his mind was hoping that you would decide to let him torture Teru in the worst possible ways.
"You're the captain here."
Law took off the hat he was wearing and placed it on your head, carefully adjusting it under your messy hair.
"I'm temporarily naming you captain. I could get some tattoos or find a cooler outfit, but that's going to take a while." He smiled as he heard a light laugh echo from you. "You decide what to do with him. I'll do it, you don't have to deal with this problem anymore."
"Let's just let him go, please. He made a mistake, I know, but I want this to just end, without too much drama." You suggested and saw him close his smile immediately. "Is there a problem?"
"I thought it would be something more like please cut him into a thousand pieces or please beat him up." He tried to imitate it poorly and realized that you weren't joking. "Consider it done."
"Law?" your hands brought him even closer to you and it wasn't like you needed to bring into the world what you wanted.
Before he even reached your lips, Law allowed his face to slide along the side of your neck as he pressed himself against your body. Something exquisite like feeling you there, something possessive like marking you as his.
Only then did his lips capture yours in a way that seemed calm but the more he stole your mouth to his you noticed even more urgency, more repressed desire after the long week apart. He tried to move away just enough for the two of you to catch a few seconds of air to remember that you were in the middle of some random room at Polar Tang and that there was an entire crew waiting for the man to reappear and make a definitive decision.
"I need to go." He murmured even though he didn't want to. There was a strange feeling of belonging every time his arms were intertwined with your body. "I need to tell everyone…" he made a move to walk away but was stopped by your hands.
"We can't leave it for later, it's just… I missed you." you confessed and he nodded, as if he was savoring the words that came out of you.
"I'm sorry, but no." he genuinely seemed disappointed. "I missed you, but I think I need to go there, take sides."
"And then?"
"Then you'll accompany me to my room, more precisely to my bed…"
"Law." your voice sounded like a warning and ignoring what you were saying, he pressed his body against yours, however you couldn't feel any malice in that.
"More precisely to my bed so you can get a decent night's sleep. No one will disturb you there, I promise." he finished, seeing you smile shyly. "I told you, I just want to take care of you."
Like magnets, your hands once again intertwined around him at the same time that your lips sought his. It didn't seem necessary to deepen the kiss, it was as if your own body just needed to feel Law's presence there, his scent.
His lips were mixed with yours, his lips glued to your mouth. Your tongues danced slowly like a small intimate rediscovery between the two of you. It didn't last long, long enough for him to hold you against his arms.
"I was an idiot, I know, I promise never to act like that again." He murmured against your skin, hugging you tightly before letting you go. "Ready to go?" He held out his hand to you. "I just need to talk to Bepo and Clione first."
"But this…" First you put his hat back on him and then you handed him your hand, and he immediately started walking with his fingers intertwined with yours.
"I said. I'm ready to take sides." He simply replied.
The big room seemed intact like a work of art. Everyone was standing in the same position, except that you could hear some murmurs. One of the only things different was Teru. His confident posture had been replaced by him with his hands under his face, looking nervous. As soon as he noticed the presence of the two of you, he seemed to regain a little of what had disappeared. You didn't want to argue anymore, things seemed clearly resolved. So when you saw him walking towards you, your only reaction was to hold the hand tied to yours even tighter, which seemed to catch Law's attention.
"Hey, I wanted to apologize for…"
"Stop talking." Law limited himself to saying even though he refused to look the man in the face. "Bepo, Clione, please let me know as soon as we're ready to dock at the next island. Until I'm informed, no one leaves the Polar Tang."
"Yes, captain!"
"Do you want to go to our bedroom and rest?" Ikkaku approached you, proposing with a gentle smile. "We're sorry we didn't notice anything before."
"It's okay." You nodded, smiling in her direction. "I just needed to get that off my chest."
"Ikkaku, don't worry." Law turned to her. "On second thought, I think it would be a good idea for you to sleep with Shachi and Penguin or with someone, wherever is more comfortable." Law pointed out, unable to resist glancing at Teru sideways. "I won't cage his, but I also don't know how comfortable I am knowing that someone is capable of breaking into other people's rooms."
"That's a great idea, thank you, Captain."
"You're all dismissed."
Law once again began to guide you, this time to the opposite side. As soon as he opened the bedroom door, he made room for you to enter. The environment became increasingly familiar to you, even though it was still full of books and comics scattered around.
"Are you sure I won't get in your way?" you insisted and instead of hearing the answer come out of his lips, you only felt his arms encircle you and guide you in not-so-aligned steps to the bed. "Can I take that as a no?"
"You can take that as a no, it's my pleasure to have you here." He said in a light tone, the opposite of what you had heard earlier. "Before you rest, I need to know something."
"What do you want to know?" Your voice was shaky, thinking about what you had shouted at the top of your lungs. As soon as you sat up in bed, you had to hold back a light laugh when you saw Law lift your legs and arrange some pillows.
"What did he do?" He sat up, indicating that you should lie down. "I mean, I know he did enough to upset you and that you asked me to take it easy, but I need to know under what exact conditions I can send him away from here."
"And what would the options be?"
"That depends on what you tell me." One of his hands rested on your thigh, in an almost imperceptible caress. "He can leave here, walking on his own two feet or he can leave here in pieces, straight to the bottom of the sea. In short, of course."
"He didn't do anything serious. I think that, apart from the day he broke into the room, he was just being inconvenient. I think most of my outburst was just a rant." You explained and saw that he seemed to be thinking about the next words he was going to say. "What I said there…"
"It's okay." He tried to reassure you even though he was mesmerized by how lovely you looked lying on his bed. "You need to rest, we have all the time in the world to talk later."
"Law?" Only a low grumble came from his lips, encouraging you to continue. "Can you stay here?"
"Yes, of course."
The idea at first was to climb over you and head to the other side of the bed. However, you seemed to have very different plans. Your legs closed against Law's waist and your torso raised enough to pull him towards you.
He didn't need any more tips than that. As soon as his body fell on top of yours, your lips were locked against his and even with all the desire, you could feel him withdrawing.
"I need you." You mumbled against his neck feeling him growl against you, fighting against his own will.
"Babe not today."
"I missed you so much, I just need to feel you even if it's just a little." Again the sly tone against him.
God, Law knew he had never needed to have as much self-control as he was having at that moment. And it wasn't that he didn't want you - quite the opposite, since his hips moved in search of some kind of friction against you. It was just a mix of guilt for everything that had happened and concern. He just wanted to see you well.
"You just need to feel me, huh?" His tone was a few octaves lower and rougher as his hand slid down your body.
His lips didn't leave yours as his hand roamed your body. Fingers slowly gliding over your skin, pushing aside any type of fabric he could find along the way. Wet kisses ran down your neck to your nipple, eliciting gasps that matched the arch that was forming in your back. More contact, more pleasure, you needed more Law.
Two fingers slid through the damp fabric of your panties, sliding there unpretentiously, waiting for you to release the last thread of sanity.
"Law, please, I need you."
"Me? What do you need?" He set the fabric aside, letting his finger slide away from where you needed it most.
The blue dome formed over the two of you before you could understand the word he had said and there was something almost poetic about how he could use the same thing to do devastating things - like dismember, kill or press his fingers into the place that burned you the most.
"M-more." A strangled moan escaped your lips in a brief moment you forgot you didn't need to hold back.
"Babe you need to rest so let's not go through much of this today." He said with a mischievous smile as he noticed the frustration in your expression. "I think I can give a little more to my girl." His middle finger penetrated you slowly feeling you contract and moan slowly as your hips sought more and more. "Do you want anything else?"
You mumbled something he could barely understand not that he cared much about it at the moment. The way your body tangled against his made it clearer than any words could.
"Can you take one more?" His ring finger joined his middle finger inside you as his palm began to rub against your clit. "It's right here, isn't it, sweetheart? I can feel it."
"Just don't… don't stop."
"It's just you and me here, babe. Come on, I can feel you squeezing me. I've missed this pussy, so much." The dirtiest words were whispered against your ear as if someone could break the dome between the two of you. "Do you want to cum? I know you do, give it to me. Just give it to me, sweetheart."
Legs trembling, a blank vision and a scream that would surely be etched in your throat. Before you opened your eyes, you could feel something against your face. Once, twice, three times. A few small kisses spread almost chastely across your skin.
"Are you okay?" Law's eyes were immediately above yours. "It seemed intense."
"It didn't just seem like it."
You laughed, feeling the weight of his body on top of yours, but not for long as he adjusted himself and lay down, forcing you to fit into his arms. You could feel his breath against your skin as his fingers caressed your skin. At that moment, you wanted to say so much. So many feelings that could easily become a waterfall of words, but in the end, they were summed up in just three of them. Three words that you felt like they were being said against your skin before your eyes closed.
Maybe it was tiredness or maybe it was because you were sleeping in a much more comfortable place than you were used to. You were definitely getting used to being there, or else you wouldn't have rolled over in bed looking for someone else.
As soon as you did your morning routine and went to find your tasks, you found your corner of the board empty, your tasks redistributed to others.
"You need this." Shachi tapped your shoulder as he passed, knowing that you were probably confused by your huge list. "Take a rest, after all, we're only going to give you this gift today."
"Thanks, I guess."
You could use a few more hours of rest, even though you didn't know if you'd be able to sleep any longer. The small memory of the night before came to your mind. You couldn't have gotten it wrong, could you?
The walk to Law's room seemed like an eternity and you made sure to distract yourself with anything you found along the way, a way to gain even more time for your final decision.
When you opened the bedroom door, you found Law sitting on the bed as if he already knew you'd be back there.
"I heard you got the day off." In an unexpected gesture, your legs guided you until they stopped in front of him.
Your fingers itched, gathering courage or at least trying to find something to do with your hands. They had never been so restless, so lost. Maybe that was reflected in your frightened expression since the reaction didn't come from you but Law. His hands pulled you by the waist until your legs circled his body, fitting on top of him without any kind of malice. It was as if that path had become the favorite route for both of you.
"Did you sleep well?" He asked and you nodded. "And did you eat?" Again, the same gesture. "What's going on then?"
And then there it was. Law's worried yet sweet tone and his eyes attentive to your every move, his hands clasped around your waist as a mix of marking himself present and also as a guarantee that he would keep you there, next to him.
It was almost cathartic to understand that, something so big and in such a few milliseconds. It bordered on frightening while at the same time taking away all the fear you were facing.
"I love you." The words came out like that, light as someone saying a simple good morning. As if it was the thing you said to him every morning. "I think I love you. I'm sure, actually, I love you." and there it was, all the confusion, all the butterflies in your stomach wanting to fly out at once.
Cathartic. Just like the smile that appeared on his lips, that lit up your captain's eyes.
"I love you." Coming from him, it sounded like a relief. As if that secret had been kept for too long. "I've loved you for longer than I can even calculate and that's a little scary. I hate myself for acting the way I have in the last few days."
"Don't worry, I think I love you enough for both of us."
For a long time, you were against romance books. The story of the kiss of love, all the drama surrounding it seemed not to suit you. Or your other relationships. Or Law's stolen kisses. Or the idea that your greatest closeness began with something that goes beyond a kiss.
But there it was, lips on lips, his hands moving up your back and your mouth giving way to him. That was a kiss, one of those that took your breath away before his tongue even explored yours.
His hands on your back were replaced by the comfortable mattress. His white t-shirt was thrown somewhere you would worry about later. Your clothes met the same fate and you both couldn't be less worried about it.
"Just tell me you need me, please." He whispered against your skin, his lips descending to your belly. "Babe, please."
"I'll always need you."
This time he didn't tease you, he just dove into your intimacy. Honey and saliva mixed in his mouth and that was certainly the best thing he had ever tasted. Your hips sought more and more and he would give it to you, with all pleasure. Your explosion didn't take long to arrive and before you became too sensitive, your fingers tangled in his dark strands, pulling him back.
"Any lessons for today?" you teased him as he fit between your legs.
"No. Today I want to learn." His cock rubbed against your thighs, a hard resistance as he was getting closer and closer to where you both wanted. "I want you to tell me what you like, what you want."
"Just you." Your legs circled him, you could feel the tip of his cock brush against your entrance and sink in inch by inch. "Fuck!"
"That's my intention." He chuckled against your skin and swallowed your moans against a kiss as your intimacy swallowed him completely.
Slow thrusts drew small moans from you. Damn, it would be hard to control like this and Law knew he was in no condition to focus on anything other than you. Other than your body around him, your moans and requests for more and more against his ear.
The speed increased and by that time someone had certainly already heard you, not that he cared. His fingers intertwined with yours.
"I can feel you… oh fuck, babe I can't hold it in much longer." He moaned against your skin, thrusting without much rhythm, but more and more intensely. "Cum with me, love, please."
The request was enough, the simple request for you to contract against him and for him to spill himself against you. Almost like a perfectly orchestrated symphony.
Law didn't want to let you go, ever, but even more so at that moment. Only when he managed to breathe properly again - and you were still a little breathless and airy - did he pull out of you, only to let himself go and pull you against his chest.
"Shit." Your mumble caught his attention. "You know everyone heard, right? They're sure to make fun of me."
"It's a shame." He laughed, letting his face sink into your hair. "Lucky for you you're off today."
"Yeah, lucky indeed. I can get locked up here."
"And lucky also that you're dating the captain." He blurted out the information, expecting a reaction from you. A complaint, a grumble, but in return, he only found your almost incredulous smile.
"Are you kidding me isn't it?"
"I can get down on one knee, I can buy you a bunch of flowers, I can book an amazing restaurant just for you." He started listing, seeing you look at him with shining eyes. "Whatever makes you happy, as long as you agree to be my girlfriend."
"I accept. Can you say that again?" you asked and saw him pretend to try to remember something, even scratching his head.
"Okay, low blow." he said with a laugh, as you started to give him some pinches. "I love you."
And little did you know that that morning he disappeared, initially to teach Teru a lesson, to make him regret every single thing. But your words remained in his mind, your request to just let him go and for the first time in a while Law wanted to follow someone's order - your request. That's how he changed his course and didn't add "give you a ring" to the list of things he would do for you, after all the jewel had been bought that morning and he couldn't wait to see you wear it.
