The funniest thing about Rhaenyra marrying Daemon when the rumours surrounding her are taken into account is that she pulled both of her crushes, the other one being her rumoured lover Laena aka Daemon's ex-wife.

What if you were married off to your uncle, then to some dude but fell in love with his sister and the woman you love stole your dragon's eggs and ran away and your entire family line went to shit but those eggs. Those damn eggs are the thing that kept your descendant sane and enabled her to bring back a species from the dead and change the world.
What then?

Cersei on the boar that killed Robert
You should have been at the feast, Tyrion. There has never been a boar so delicious. They cooked it with mushrooms and apples, and it tasted like triumph.
Ugh, I need to know what goes on inside that head. She's so mother cuntress, someone sedate me.
I will literally start studying for a psychology degree to understand this woman at this rate, I swear to god.

Nat was in her hello darkness my old friend era for like 5 minutes there then Misty scurried in like a plague rat with immaculate curly blonde hair was like "I offer you... hope with a side of brutal and angering truth!" and I love how mistynat the entire thing was because I have no other way to put it. Twas peak mistynat, the birth of them if you will

My mom and I were watching tlou and joking about how goofy and dumb Dina and Ellie were and now I realize that's the only reason we didn't finish the episode somberly.
Lest we forget this is the apocalypse, the horror and the violence of it all is constantly lurking. A crippling reminder that it's all a fight for survival now.
No matter how sweet everything is in Jackson a few miles out people have died. More people keep loosing whatever semblance of home they had and now seek refuge in Jackson. They're not building fast enough to house everyone.
The episode literally starts with the promise of violence and then that promise minorly being fulfilled with Ellie fighting Caleb. And there's the don't pull punches scene which literally filled me with dread bc that's not the end, Abby is coming for Joel and we know what happens.
The added layer of the girls joking and kidding around and Dina going "I don't have to shoot you in the face today right?" to that almost becoming a reality. We know Ellie is immune but like c'mon she almost died and we got an intro to the stalkers.
Dina and Ellie's teenage banter, Ellie's normal teenage problems and even Seth and his assholery pales in comparison to the fight for survival and yet those are the very things that keep us watching, that for these characters, keep hope alive.
The idea that there is a life where your worst problems are an asshole who's homophobic and needs to be schooled and your parental figure who's awkwardly trying to connect with you is most probably what keeps them going.

There's just something about Ned being kind and courteous as expected of him to everyone. Even when it's someone he doesn't like or is opposing he isn't half as cruel as he could be.
The most prominent example I have is how he treats Cersei after finding out about the bastards. He invites her to the Godswood, he touches her face where Robert struck her and politely but firmly gives her the option of leaving. That scene stuck with me because you can feel Cersei softening. I felt myself understanding her more because Ned treated her like a person and held the belief that she was capable of doing the right thing.
It just made me like her a lot more because up till that point all we saw was a stony-faced Queen, Tyrion's japes and children who held hyperspecific views of her that did not align with reality.
The way that Ned interacts with everyone makes you have sympathy for them. Robert especially, the fact that I felt some semblance of empathy even after he hit Cersei and went on and on about killing Dany who mind you, is his second cousin and a literal child, is mostly thanks to Ned and his perspective.
Point is Ned somehow makes even the objectively worst people seem likeable and loveable which is kind of amazing.

One thing and one of the only things I love about GOT is how they portrayed Ned's death because in the books you don't fully feel the panic. Sansa's screaming and sobs, Cersei's protests, Joffrey's excitement and Ned's shock and slight confusion. All the councilmen's dawning realization that Joff is actually going through with it and lastly Arya's own reaction of utter despair and grief and the people just watching.
It worked really well and as a first-time viewer I felt the injustice and the unfairness of that situation sucker punch me in the guts in a way that the chaos of the books didn't fully capture for me (not to critique GRRM but that scene just worked like magic on screen). The main reason for me feeling that is the fact that it's supposed to be rushed, Arya suddenly is ushered towards the sept and before she knows it her father's dead you feel that rush in the books but the show like shines a spotlight on it.
You feel the unfairness when you watch it and you're left feeling the way Sansa did in the next chapter. You feel robbed and betrayed because that wasn't supposed to happen, Ned did what he was supposed to do he submitted, forsook honor for his daughters' safety and his family. That rush of overwhelming emotion was so well captured.

it pisses me off because they went almost nowhere with the man with no eyes, who has been an allegory for childhood horrors and what's another horror Tai has as a child? Religious trauma.
There was so much more that could have been explored with her, Akilah,Mari and Lottie but we don't get any of that and it makes me angry.
i sstarted to get more invested in the show because of Tai's adult storyline in season 1 and nothing much happened there. We're not given many explanations or a satisfying conclusion.
And even the whole Melissa fake death seems like a copout to me, it would have worked better with even Travis but nope. He dies and no one really mentions him again save for in a minor explanation scene.
Travis is such an interesting character who went through some of the most horrible things. Like having to eat his brother, not being able to help his dad because he's already dead and be assaulted by the people he lives with. I mean we're getting so much of Jeff so it's not a stretch to ask for the actual dude who was out there with them, someone who wasn't quite part of the group and could add more to the narrative.
It's hard to watch this episode thinking how really yellowjackets writers love to kill women of colour then make another white character more important in the show. They really did it, it is really Melissa and if the show continues Hilary will take a bigger part of it. They really did it.
And fandom mostly doesn't want to discuss show's problem with racism, yeah.

Okay the scalping discourse makes me highkey tweak as a person of colour and as someone who checked what actual indigenous people think about all of it.
Let's get the facts straight, was it weird? Yes. Was it cruel? Yes.
But Mari is not indigenous, we've never gotten any conformation on that and if we're going by the actress' identity then Mari has Mexican roots.
Mari was not scalped to be clear here, they cut off bits of her hair.
You can absolutely be mad about the writers not doing poc characters justice, you can complain and rant about that all you want because those are valid feelings to have but let's fact check alright? Because by implying Mari was scalped and that she's indigenous without ever getting the indication that she is, we're pressing horrid stereotypes.
We took one look at a girl wearing a white dress with black hair running through the woods and we immediately go 'She looks like Pocahontas and other indigenous figures we're aware of surely she must be too!' we discredit almost everything we've seen so far that has been alluding to this to push the narrative that she's now indigenous is actually kind of racist, it's biased to be sure and it's a gross generalization.
It's like looking at an east-asian and just assuming they're Chinese or looking at an African and assuming they're Kenyan, even though there was no particular indication or sign. It's our inherent bias and assumption based on what little we know of other cultures but that does not make it reality unless it's confirmed by Alexa Barajas or the showrunners.
