Our Golden Youth will start from tomorrow! I will be posting the prologue first and a few days later, Friday or Saturday, Chapter one will go live!

For people unaware this is my semi-canon backstory for the girls, starting from when they're trainees right up till the events of the movie. Featuring budding baby Polytrix, a ton of OCs to add character and Celine not being a cartoon villain of a person.

i love the idea of the girls being comfortable enough to fall asleep on each other even before they were all hunters and technically friends.

Like maybe Mira and Rumi briefly knew each other as kids because they went to the same dojo or something and one day their parents/guardian were so late they just sat there until they fell asleep on each other, as trainees they were highly competitive in the beginning but whenever practice got too late they ended up falling asleep by each other on the floor.

Mira and Zoey took the subway and bus together to get to the company and Zoey dozed off during rush and fell asleep standing and leaning on Mira so Mira had no choice but to wrap her hands around her and make sure she didn't just fall into a crowd. She keeps doing it too, Mira has to keep an eye out because sometimes the tiredness hits Zoey like a freight train and she's falling asleep standing, sitting, eating etc. By the time Zoey wakes up Mira is tired from holding her up and it's her turn, Zoey somehow figures out how to keep Mira up while not being crushed so they sleep in shifts during commute.

Zoey and Rumi met as trainees but they became fast friends, Rumi was the first friend Zoey brought home and vice versa. Whenever they get a little tired at practice or after school they're feeling drained they send each other a text and actually schedule naps together. Either in practice rooms or one of their houses. It's always nicer to nap with a friend and even better when you're lowkey a little into that friend but just don't realize it yet.

zoemira or spicyburger getting together first not only has merit since Rumi's hiding a secret but also because they're the main creatives pushing Rumi forward.

We know from all the songs and their data that Rumi is the center by a long shot, since Mira and Zoey are the choreographer and main lyricist respectively they probably worked together a lot to put Rumi forward.

And there's something inherently intimate about working together in a creative sphere, romantic or not those feelings are vulnerable. Because you're making art together and since art is about personal expression you have to share the more vulnerable parts of yourself with whomsoever you're working with, if you want to make any semblance of raw art.

Mira and Zoey probably bonded a lot because of this proximity while Rumi was also there she wasn't taking center stage in this creation process. Instead she was the very center of the process itself. For fuck's sake they put her on a floating ring for Golden and have the little will Smith here's my wife move in the choreo.

These two probably sat around twirling their hair as they came up with songs and sighing dreamily while Rumi was like I can't go places with you I'm a secret demon.

They give her more lines because they want to hear her voice more, she's in the center because the fans need to look at her more.

These two fell in love while trying to process their love for Rumi and then just waited for her to realize. Which is beautiful and explains a lot about them.

i think in one of those generic fantasy aus,

Zoey would be the princess from a newly formed kingdom or from a kingdom that has new rulers and monarchy. Her parents just seized the throne after a coup and she's the heir. She's not used to royal life yet and kind of wishes they could go back to when she wasn't the heir to a throne.

Mira would be the controversial prince (this is trope wise) who also is kind of a playboy and is very misunderstood. She's the second in line to the throne and may not get it because she's a woman and she's pissed about it.

Rumi would be a knight in the same kingdom as Mira, the daughter of a disgraced Lord or something along the lines of that and her parents have passed so she grew up Celine's ward. Rumi's on a mission to restore family honor and all that jazz. She's also hiding a deep dark secret what's new?

They all have a whirlwind romance and stop the evil noble guy trying to steal Rumi's money and disgrace her and the crown. This is Gwima.

okay physical changes as a half blood that Rumi would have gone through

I don't think she has visibly sharp teeth but I would assume she has sharper than normal canines.

Super strength obviously, i think she just started out with developing a little faster than other kids and didn't know how to regulate her strength so ended up breaking stuff a lot. She probably worked on regulating it so it doesn't happen as often.

I'd assume she also has better joint strength and endurance and enhanced senses as well. So taste, vision, hearing everything is just a little sharper for her which probably is a little difficult to deal with as an idol but there's ways around it. Like she probably has custom inears and wears sunglasses a lot when she's in public, wears headphones at the airport and stuff like that.

Lightfooted and more flexible, she moves like water that's demon shit. She has no problem with jumping over three feet up with little support so I think she'd be good at stuff like parkour.

Heterochromia, I think her eyes glow under certain lights and there's always flecks of golden when you looks closely, but after the events of the movie if becomes a little more permanent in one eye. Night vision? Yes not to the extent that she doesn't need night vision goggles, it's just a lot better than an average human's.

Her patterns shimmer, remember that scene in soda pop when the patterns on Jinu and the other Sajas' literally shimmer across their body? Probably happens with her too.

Her internal clock is moving differently. We don't know much about the demon world but we do see Rumi awake later in the night a lot. I would assume she kind of comes alive at night and doesn't really need as much asleep as others. But she does need rest so she forces herself to lay down and let her body do it's thing.

She also needs a lot more food because she spends so much energy. Rumi eats as much as male pro athletes in exetreme sports do. She needs a lot of protein, carbohydrates and vitamins to keep running. She also probably ended up developing the habit of carrying around those giant water bottles because her demon side means she has better pain tolerance and doesn't notice when she's getting dehydrated.

Since Rumi is half demon, do you think that she has different limitations than humans? Like maybe she has a longer breath hold, can handle pressure, can go long without eating etc?

totally, I think she has a higher tolerance for a lot of things because she partly survives on souls, just unlike demons she doesn't consume them completely. Just a little, just enough. People replenish their life energy so it doesn't hurt them. But this probably sustains Rumi and means she has different, higher limits both physically and mentally from what I've seen. With the pressure she's under the fact that she still takes so much in stride and deals with problems effectively says a lot

Also as a half saja she probably has better heat tolerance and has lots of endurance, energy and sharper intuition and instincts

since we've established that Zoemira is also spicyburger.... Maybe polytrix is superspicyburger. The Korean fans started calling them that when during their early debut days they were asked about their dream brand deal and the girls agreed that a ramyeon brand deal would be their it moment then named their future flavours on screen.

Rumira is superstarspicequeens or superspice and Zoerumi is superburger Or superhamburg because Rumi had no idea where Hamburg was and it became a hilarious bit where she realized in realtime that Hamburgers come from Hamburg. They were invented there. She just assumed that Americans did but apparently not?

Number one and the best one out there. My girl Sandra Oh immediately clocked that she looked like Sandra, the ultimate Celine reference you cannot go wrong with Sandra

Next Sophia from Katseye, the leader energy the vibe. It's similar to Celine's she's good for pose references, I imagine she's a good reference for teenage Celine

Hyewon! Jo Yuri kind of reminds me of Miyeong totally not because of Squid Game but yeah she's a pretty good reference too, the more calm and neutral energy Celine has matches hers

the specific mention of napalm in how it's done makes me think these losers have used firebombs on demons. Like all their lyrics are rooted in reality, why not this?

I'd like to think Mira since she's the one who got the line is a chemistry genius and she spent some time designing chemical weapons against the demons.

She went the long range when she was tired and threw molotov cocktails, homemade bombs and dynamite at demons to KO them, then she did her hot rich girl walk down to them to finish them off.

I also like to think she tried making that device that Honey Lemon uses in Big Hero 6 and halfway succeeded when Zoey helped her. Rumi was their human tester and she nearly got blown up like 5 times before they put an end to it.

Just two mad scientist girlfriends and their reluctant sponsor and field tester girlfriend. Who just screams "The chemicals are having a reaction and it's not the one we want!" Before running for her goddamn life

After that they decide to play a very extensive game of rock paper scissors to decide who will test the product. Think breaking bad but it's them arguing about their hair smelling like fumes and who got to stay in the middle during bedtime cuddle pile and thus should take responsibility for the extra dopamine and body heat they got and go test out the active and very dangerous chemical bombs.

guys have we talked about Rumi technically being a saja and not a normal demon? We know from the concept art her dad was one and I'm assuming it passed down. She's a fucking grim reaper no wonder Celine is terrified (I'm into it but you know I'm just into curious entities, scared yes but also curious. My role model is George don't question it)

Okay as to why i think it passed down Jeoseung Sajas aka Grim reapers or netherworld emissaries are a class of demons, like aristocrats. I would assume that the underworld still operates on old society rules a lot so since her father is a Saja, Rumi probably would have taken up the same job. Second gen Saja and all that.

What's really interesting is that while Gwi-ma eats souls, it's possible that the Sajas still guide souls to be judged, so kind of like a part time job? I'm kind of blabbing but yes, Rumi is a grim reaper. I think it has some really interesting effects on her personality.

She likes to analyse people and judge them ethically a lot, she while debating whether to tell the girls wrote a whole paper on the ethics of lying and self preservation. She has cattle dog tendencies where she rounds people up and moves them along a lot. She sees a chaotic group, she simply has to make sure they all get home in one piece.

With fans she's that one idol who keeps acting like the event manager, asking them to stay in one line, not push each other. Giving them rules to follow, making sure no one is loosing their mind because of the chaos.

Her sixth senses are off the charts, she can sense a lot of things. Storms, accidents, Zoey burning her hand while running with a cup of ramyeon. She often redirects their drivers when she senses something off and what do you know it later in the news the road they were supposed to take met with an accident.

She has a tendency to be ominous sometimes, especially when she senses death. Something deep inside her just awakens and she's just aware that it's coming. When she was younger she ended up predicting the deaths of a few animals on a farm, Celine was deeply unnerved.

She sometimes ends up guiding souls of the dead along, she didn't really realize it as a kid but once she got conscious enough she realized it wasn't normal. Whenever she spots a soul wandering she gently guides them in the right direction and goes on with her day, she's become quite good at doing it discreetly.

I think Demon!Rumi HCs in the fandom tend too much towards the bestial and don't take advantage of the fact she's the daughter of a Jeosung Saja, the psychopomps who carry the names of the dead on crimson cloth.

She's always just a little cold. Not corpse cold, but just a little cool. She doesn't overheat easily, and she's fine at temperatures most people would find uncomfortable (Helps with the long sleeves in summer. She's genuinely fine with it) (She has definitely shocked Zoey and Mira awake by surprising them with cold feet)

When she goes "full demon" she doesn't have horns or a tail, but her lips turn the blue of hypothermia, her extremities turn the purple of frostbite, and her gums recede ever so slightly, making her fangs ever more noticeable.

When she wants to be, she can become very, very quiet. Part of this is undoubtedly her hunter training, but sometimes it's as if she simply doesn't create noise.

The teleportation does not help this.

She finds that she always has an inkling of when someone near her is going to die. Sometimes it's a cold sensation in her gut, sometimes it's an unnatural shadow dogging their feet, sometimes it's a series of Final Destination style omens only she can make sense of.

And this isn't even accounting for how her Demon heritage interacts with her Hunter heritage (See how I didn't even mention her patterns)
