regulus is NOT the sensible one when he's in a trio with rosekiller. i firmly believe that they are dumb, dumber and dumbest; half a brain cell between the 3 of them when they are together. you'd have either pandora or dorcas wondering where rosekiller have gone off to and the person they're talking to be all, "they're fine, regulus is with them." and they'd immediately scramble bc that's way worse!!

“Just what the doctor ordered,” James smiled as he tugged an unsuspecting Regulus onto his lap.

James had been lounging on a chair in the library dreading continuing with the mountain of homework in front of him (NEWTs were no joke). Regulus, pacing nearby with a Transfiguration book in one hand and the other frantically running through his hair, landed roughly in his boyfriend’s arms.

“James, I’ve lost my place!” he whined making very little effort to retrieve the text from the floor where it had fallen. 

“Just give me a minute,” James replied, nuzzling his nose into the nape of the younger boy’s neck. The scent of lavender was a pleasant reminder to James that this was real and happening and that Regulus Black was his. 

Regulus, twisting in James’ lap to face him, leaned forward to give him a quick peck on the cheek. James, who had anticipated this, turned his face with expert timing, meeting Regulus’ lips with his own.

“Jamie!” Reg let out an exasperated smile but couldn’t help lean back in toward the older boy for more. 

“Is the Heir of the Noble House of Black blushing?” Barty questioned, slamming his bag into the chair opposite the pair. 

A scowl now replacing the adoration there seconds before, Regulus replied, “Must’ve been a trick of the light, Barty, I don’t blush.” James chuckled lightly at this statement he knew to be false and rested his face on Regulus’ shoulder.
