the insane experience of missing a fictional character . like you can always go back and reread the book , replay the game , rewatch the show or movie , you can always go back & see them , but you can never experience them & their story for the first time again . its absurd to miss them because they'll always be there , but you'll miss when there were still new things for them to say .

for a small time they were real & growing and changing and you hung onto every new word, but now all they can do is repeat the same story forever&ever & they're not real anymore because you know everything they're going to do. & you miss them. its fucked man...

Fandom theory: The reason that women find sad/injured fictional men attractive is because we are fundamentally attracted to the combination of strength and vulnerability. A fictional guy who collapses into a puddle of angst at the slightest provocation gets tiring because he is all vulnerability and no strength. A fictional guy who is a perfect stoic is admirable but not as attractive, because he is all strength and no vulnerability. The man who has demonstrated his strength by enduring the vicissitudes of the plot and now is in need of comfort is catnip to fans because he has proved his ability to protect, but is not so strong as to not need someone to love and care for him.

Fandom terms have to sound silly, like blorbo or squick, because fandom needs humbling. Not a lot. But just every so often you need a good grounding reminder that all of this is literally made up nonsense for fun.

If you take a fictional thing so seriously that silly words genuinely annoy you, you've gone too far and you need to dial it back.

something that bugs me abt autistic and autistic-coded characters is how often they are mocked not just by the source material but by the fandom, including other autistic people. its people calling ishimaru a stupid idiot baby who doesnt even know what sex is, its people making murky out to be a toddler when she's 8, its people writing mob without emotions, its people laughing at laios for not knowing when other characters dont like him. how can you claim to love and support living autistics when you can't even interact with fictional ones normally? yeah yeah they're not real but the people watching you say and do this shit sure are.
