It wasn't as if Daphne was unaware that Cricket didn't understand Infernal, but she so often used it as a language of comfort; she knew not many people besides tieflings had that connection, though. So, as he spoke of how he couldn't understand her, she smiled softly. "Sorry, my dear. Sweet nothings, I suppose, just telling you that all is well, that you're safe. That sort of thing," she replied softly, a small fanged smile on her face.

She smelled nice. The warlock couldn't help but laugh softly at that as he leaned into her and put his head on her shoulder. "Thank you. My perfume oil hasn't been overpowered by the musk and blood of a fight yet today. A bit of a rare occasion for people in our position."

       Of  course  Cricket  didn't  understand  a  single  word  Daphne  uttered.      It  sounded,  despite  the  hard  sound  of  her  vocabulary,  soothing.  He  dearly  hoped,  wanted  to  believe,  she  said  something  nice.
