Penny almost corrected him; She had told him that he needed to test his strength, she hadn't volunteered to be yeeted. But he moved so fast to go prep things and it was sweet that he thought of extra padding. He didn't even seem winded from carrying his mattress out to them. "Uh yeah. Sure." She gave him a thumbs up. "Chuck at will."

"You want me to throw you?" He quirked a perfectly groomed eyebrow, playful grin playing over his features. "Okay let's test it." Sheldon went into the other room to grab his mattress off his bed then drug it into the living room. "This is for extra padding. In case I hurt you." He set it up against the wall adjacent to the window, moved the couch out of the way and took Penny by the hand. "You sure about this?" He needed consent before he touched her or threw her or anything. He wasn't entirely sure how she would react.

Merlin was poking the fire in the fireplace into something sustainable when Arthur came back. Sitting back, he watched Arthur try to puzzle out the door. "Oh. I've got that." He stood up and went to the door, an angled small block of wood in hand. He jammed it under the bottom of the door and propped it against the stone floor. Turning to look at Arthur, he smiled triumphantly. "Safer than the heart of the citadel." Well. He would make sure it was. Even if he had to wait up and magic it sealed like glue, no one would come in without Arthur wanting them to.

Settling down at the table, he poured himself into his plate, eating quickly. It was already late and he was anxious. Sleeping in Arthur's room wasn't common but he saw it as a good sign. Maybe Arthur was more open to this than he'd said.

He shook his head, chuckling softly. "No, not at all..." It hadn't felt at all like that when he was on the other end and he honestly wondered how Merlin managed to keep his wits about him earlier. Arthur noticed something flash in Merlin's eyes when he asked him to stay, but Merlin agreed rather quickly. He nodded to the plan, pulling away from Merlin and readjusting his clothing before heading down to the kitchens.

Arthur knew that he was being confusing, but he was honestly a little confused himself. He wanted to keep Merlin close, but he also knew just how risky it was to be doing this with Merlin. It wasn't fair for him to ask Merlin to give him something that they weren't supposed to be doing. Arthur quickly collected the food, hurrying back. He put the food on the table, turning and staring at the door as he tried to solve their problem. "There's got to be a way to make this door not open without being obvious." He'd been locked in his room plenty of times, but he'd never actively tried to lock himself inside so nobody could bother him.

Merlin swallowed all of Arthur's release down, smiling like the cat that got the canary when he collapsed in front of him. He set his hands on Arthur's cheeks when he kissed him, rubbing his nose against Arthur's. "It's alright. I don't mind." He stroked his hand through Arthur's hair comfortingly. "Besides, I didn't give you much chance, did I?" He laughed.

It was Arthur asking him to stay that threw him. Earlier he hadn't been able to get away quickly enough and now he wanted Merlin to stay the night? "Alright. If it's what you want." He didn't think he'd ever be able to deny Arthur again. Not that he was good at it to begin with. "You run go get us our suppers. When you come back, I'll rebandage your hand. How does that sound?" He leaned back, studying Arthur's face.

Arthur was a whimpering, quivering mess. He ran his hands through Merlin's hair, not daring to move more than that. It felt like it hit him all at once, pushing back against the door as Merlin simply chased after him. Arthur finished, face warm and hands clenching against Merlin's hair. "Merlin..." He held out until Merlin pulled back, but not a moment longer. His legs finally just gave out, dropping him down on his knees in front of Merlin. He looked up, grabbing Merlin's cheeks and kissing him hard. When he pulled back, his eyes were the size of the moon as he stared at Merlin. "I'm sorry... I was trying to move back, but... I didn't mean to... I should have used a rag like you did." He remembered that Merlin had pulled away, but he'd been pressed against the door and Merlin had been moving so fast.

Arthur wasn't looking away now, eyes absolutely searching Merlin's. He was searching for anger, expecting this to have been wrong. But, again, he was just looking at Merlin. "Stay with me. Don't go, Merlin. I'll lock the door." His father had a key to his chambers, so Arthur paused. "Prop something in front to bar it from the inside... Just don't go." He felt sensitive and vulnerable, but he didn't want to feel alone. There was a part of him that wanted Merlin and all of these wild emotions pushed away. He didn't like the small, pleading quality to his voice. It made him think of when he'd begged Uther to stay when he was younger. He'd pleaded, absolutely hysterical. But, that had been met with silence if he was lucky. Anger if he was not. But, this was Merlin. Merlin felt safe. Merlin didn't get angry when he dropped his outer shell. Honestly, Merlin seemed to prefer when he dropped the well-crafted act. He was just afraid to do that. The act protected him so well. But, he'd started dropping formal posture when he was with Merlin. He slouched and Merlin said nothing. He held a knee to his chest while at the table and Merlin said nothing.
