"The finest knight I ever saw was Ser Arthur Dayne, who fought with a blade called Dawn, forged from the heart of a fallen star. They called him the Sword of the Morning, and he would have killed me but for Howland Reed and his shotgun. Howland put two rounds of buckshot into that motherfucker's back and saved my ass." Father had gotten sad then, and he would say no more. Bran wished he had asked him what he meant.

i wonder what happens on the feast days of the seven. presumably they each have their own. we only know about maiden's day, where unmarried girls are the only ones allowed in the sept to pray. crone's day could be the same. i think on warrior's day it would be a lucky day to say your vows to become a knight, so maybe lots of men become knights and boys become squires and pages on that day. stranger's day could be a solemn day, a day to remember the dead. mother's and father's day could be like our own mother's and father's days where you bring gifts to your parents. maybe on smith's day you are encouraged to make things, it could also be considered a lucky day for apprenticeships to start or for apprentices to become journeymen.

“She reached up with both hands and grabbed the blade with all her strength, pulling it away from her throat. She heard him cursing into her ear. Her fingers were slippery with blood, but she would not let go of the dagger.”
“Let him grow taller, she asked the gods. Let him know sixteen, and twenty, and fifty. Let him grow as tall as his father, and hold his own son in his arms. Please, please, please. As she watched him, this tall young man with the new beard and the direwolf prowling at his heels, all she could see was the babe they had laid at her breast at Riverrun, so long ago.”

New illustrations of F&B and we got an hazy looking 80s style fantasy drawing of a pale, beaked nose, frizzy haired Rhaenyra with bloodied hands holding a sword. I won but also nobody tell the yassified Rhaenyra art fans or Reddit men. But other than that we won

The pretty dresses she thought would bring her joy and the ones that actually did
Wanted to upload high res copies so you can see the little details I put into her face. Kind of a ‘you didn’t know what you had until it was gone’ kind of piece that made me feel very emotional.
