how did you know you were a city representation?

“This was a very, very long time ago, so most of it was told to me by others, and the stories passed down over time.

Supposedly, much like かぐや姫 from 竹取物語, I was born from a bamboo stalk-- a child of the land. From that point, I was treated like a deity, taking the aforementioned tale as a means to believe I was as such. I aged very slowly, which was odd, and not much like かぐや姫, but still I was treated very well, what else were they to believe at that time? Nothing like ‘representatives’ had really been realized yet, and we lived on a tiny island, so information traveled slowly.

As time went on, and means of communication between the mainland and Japan became easier, the knowledge of representatives became widespread, and common. Soon, my ‘deity’ status waned once they realized what I was, and I was treated nothing better than a glorified city official, and then like a citizen-- only the country representatives truly had importance, after all. I got myself into trouble after that, and after a lot of shit, I now happily reside in a secluded house where I spend my days kissing my fiance, and yelling at kids to get off my flowerbeds.”

Standing at a rather nonthreatening 5′8″, while sporting a very lean frame, Sunao wasn’t exactly the most tough looking man. Paired with the Asian gift of a baby face, he straight up looked like the kind of man who probably smelled like flowers and liked baking.... and he did. However, there was something a tad... off. 

“Excuse me, would you happen to be Toris...? Toris Laurinaitis?” he asked, his voice soft and kind as he approached the taller male and gently tapped his shoulder. Sunao was holding a suitcase in one hand, and his thick Japanese accent made it obvious he was certainly not a local.  “My name is Sunao, I am sorry to bother you, but I have a question.”
