This is my tree, when I was 3 years old and I still lived in California, my parents got me this tree, it was a "Barbie" tree and came with lights, ornaments, etc. I put it up every year, even when I went through 5 years of boycotting pink, this was my only exception and acceptable thing to own in pink. Over the years the ornaments have broke, the lights disappeared, the star crumpled, and the tree branches tangled but still I protest my mother encouraging me to at least spray paint it something else. The original symbol of the evergreen tree was to resemble Christ's never-ending and unconditional love and open arms to ask everyone to come unto him and use his gift. This is my Christmas tree, and this year I untangled the branches, bought new decorations, and realized that I will use this tree until I die because I accidentally created a tradition out of a tradition:) Kerry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and just enjoy winter because, let's admit it, no matter how much capitalism has screwed it up, its still the best time of the year! 💛
