The Restored Church
5K posts
We are daughters of our Heavenly Father, who loves us, and we love Him. We will “stand as witnesses of God at all times and in all things, and in all places” (Mosiah 18:9) as we strive to live the Young Women values, which are: Faith • Divine Nature • Individual Worth • Knowledge • Choice and Accountability • Good Works • Integrity • and Virtue We believe as we come to accept and act upon these values, we will be prepared to strengthen home and family, make and keep sacred covenants, receive the ordinances of the temple, and enjoy the blessings of exaltation.

Pilate therefore, willing to release Jesus, spake again to them.
But they cried, saying, Crucify him, crucify him.
And he said unto them the third time, Why, what evil hath he done? I have found no cause of death in him: I will therefore chastise him, and let him go.
And they were instant [urging] with loud voices, requiring that he might be crucified. And the voices of them and of the chief priests prevailed.

Reasons Why Everyone thinks Mormonism is Weird:
Polygamy
Temples
Word of Wisdom
Underwear
The Book of Mormon
The Reasons we are Actually Weird:
God is our literal father
there is no such thing a hell but it is understandable why y’all believe in it
Heaven continues family dynamics so like we also got a Mother but we don’t talk about her cause everyone drags God’s name through the mud and God doesn’t want his wife to be disrespected in that way cause its love
God went through some sort of experience similar to ours here on earth and from there we can gather that he probs worshiped a God during his time who was his father so like there’s a pantheon of sorts but we just worry about the one cause he is our dad.
Aliens are totally a thing and they look just like us cause they’re also God’s children.
God created ‘worlds without number’ so like of course he didn’t put all the creatures he made here on just this one.
Earth is like the ‘main’ planet in his entire plan because we are the only ones who ever got ‘wicked’ enough to crucify Christ so like we’re living through the worst of the worst
Back to no Hell, we believe in 3 heavens that are all better than earth so like everyone will be happy cause God is a good father who isn’t going to punish his kids forever cause we fought with our brother.
We like dedicate buildings and stuff, and we have church camps that we dedicate and I know one that we had to ‘rededicate’ because some girls brought a Ouija board and played with it.
Think about it we straight up believe in Ouija boards and that yes, they can be used to communicate with spirits but like…. thats bad and you don’t wanna do that
A fancy spiritual place was contaminated by a thing that is seen as a child’s toy and we took it serious
We fully believe in ghosts and talking with the dead, but like not in the way most people think
God created science so like, yeah, the Big Bang and evolution are legit even if the Bible doesn’t mention them
I’m not exactly sure how but Adam and Eve are actual people who lived and aren’t just some myth
I have no idea how dinosaurs fit into the timeline of creation but there were for sure dinosaurs at some point
The ‘7 days’ it took to create everything weren’t actual days but just periods of time that probs were millions of years and probs did happen how science has figured out the earth was created
The Book of Mormon is a record of history in the Americas, like no it doesn’t cover everything it just covers the fact that they also believed in Christ and that he visited them
Like we don’t know exact locations but through Archaeology and Anthropology you are able to see things where they could very easily inter connect. The built amazing cities that were destroyed or mostly destroyed? Yeah. There’s even record of some of the peoples straight up just disappearing from existence which is an actual thing we have evidence of
Like, it just amazes me that we believe in so much that Science has shown to be true but even we don’t really acknowledge it because we’re trying to fit in with mainstream Christianity. Like yeah I’m a Christian but I fully believe in aliens too

Helaman 13:
24 Yea, wo unto this people, because of this time which has arrived, that ye do cast out the prophets, and do mock them, and cast stones at them, and do slay them, and do all manner of iniquity unto them, even as they did of old time.
25 And now when ye talk, ye say: If our days had been in the days of our fathers of old, we would not have slain the prophets; we would not have stoned them, and cast them out.
26 Behold ye are worse than they; for as the Lord liveth, if a prophet come among you and declareth unto you the word of the Lord, which testifieth of your sins and iniquities, ye are angry with him, and cast him out and seek all manner of ways to destroy him; yea, you will say that he is a false prophet, and that he is a sinner, and of the devil, because he testifieth that your deeds are evil.
27 But behold, if a man shall come among you and shall say: Do this, and there is no iniquity; do that and ye shall not suffer; yea, he will say: Walk after the pride of your own hearts; yea, walk after the pride of your eyes, and do whatsoever your heart desireth—and if a man shall come among you and say this, ye will receive him, and say that he is a prophet.
28 Yea, ye will lift him up, and ye will give unto him of your substance; ye will give unto him of your gold, and of your silver, and ye will clothe him with costly apparel; and because he speaketh flattering words unto you, and he saith that all is well, then ye will not find fault with him.
29 O ye wicked and ye perverse generation; ye hardened and ye stiffnecked people, how long will ye suppose that the Lord will suffer you? Yea, how long will ye suffer yourselves to be led by foolish and blind guides? Yea, how long will ye choose darkness rather than light?

“Perhaps it is no wonder that the women were first at the Cradle and last at the Cross. They had never known a man like this Man - there never has been such another. A prophet and teacher who never nagged at them, never flattered or coaxed or patronised; who never made arch jokes about them, never treated them either as “The women, God help us!” or “The ladies, God bless them!”; who rebuked without querulousness and praised without condescension; who took their questions and arguments seriously; who never mapped out their sphere for them, never urged them to be feminine or jeered at them for being female; who had no axe to grind and no uneasy male dignity to defend; who took them as he found them and was completely unselfconscious.” // Dorothy L. Sayers

The Last Supper
Matthew 26:17-30 NLT
17 On the first day of the Festival of Unleavened Bread, the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Where do you want us to prepare the Passover meal for you?”
18 “As you go into the city,” he told them, “you will see a certain man. Tell him, ‘The Teacher says: My time has come, and I will eat the Passover meal with my disciples at your house.’” 19 So the disciples did as Jesus told them and prepared the Passover meal there.
20 When it was evening, Jesus sat down at the table with the Twelve. 21 While they were eating, he said, “I tell you the truth, one of you will betray me.”
22 Greatly distressed, each one asked in turn, “Am I the one, Lord?”
23 He replied, “One of you who has just eaten from this bowl with me will betray me. 24 For the Son of Man must die, as the Scriptures declared long ago. But how terrible it will be for the one who betrays him. It would be far better for that man if he had never been born!”
25 Judas, the one who would betray him, also asked, “Rabbi, am I the one?”
And Jesus told him, “You have said it.”
26 As they were eating, Jesus took some bread and blessed it. Then he broke it in pieces and gave it to the disciples, saying, “Take this and eat it, for this is my body.”
27 And he took a cup of wine and gave thanks to God for it. He gave it to them and said, “Each of you drink from it, 28 for this is my blood, which confirms the covenant between God and his people. It is poured out as a sacrifice to forgive the sins of many. 29 Mark my words—I will not drink wine again until the day I drink it new with you in my Father’s Kingdom.”
30 Then they sang a hymn and went out to the Mount of Olives.

Good Friday
This is where it was heading.
Remember all of the wonderful stuff at Christmas? Angels, shepherds, wisemen, a newborn king?
This is where it was going the whole time. Good Friday.
All that “God with us” stuff? It sounded so sentimental, so warm and fuzzy back then.
This is what it really means.
God with us, when we can’t see a way out.
God with us, when we did it to ourselves.
God with us, at our worst.
God with us.
God with us, carrying our load.
God with us, though we don’t deserve it.
God with us, doing what we could never do on our own.
In everything, especially the worst things, we are never alone. God will never abandon us.
Even if we can’t feel it in the moment. Even when it hurts too much to feel much of anything. Even when we’re angry with God. Even when we doubt God.
That changes nothing.
God loves us too much to abandon us.
There’s this idea that too many of us have, that Faith means nothing ever goes wrong. That if you believe hard enough. That if you’re good enough. That if you’re holy enough, nothing bad will happen to you.
I don’t know where that idea comes from. It certainly wasn’t Good Friday.
Because today, we see the perfect person. Sinless. Someone who raises the dead, heals the sick. Fully God and fully man. Someone who is literally as good as it gets, as holy as it gets.
Murdered. In the public spectacle of a government-sponsored torture killing.
And here’s the thing – being fully God and being aware that all of that was going to happen. Being fully human and being terrified by all of the suffering that would entail.
He went through with it anyway.
This is why I say, this is how I know that God loves us too much to abandon us.
One more thing.
All of this is personal. He did this just for me. He did this just for you.
If everyone else was sinless. If you or I were the only person who ever needed saving in all of history.
Good Friday would still have happened.
Because God loves you too much to abandon you.
