Thank God she was with her son at the time. How it happened, and why, for that matter? Well, she was none-the-wiser. Alas, it didn't particularly matter. Not really. Not as long as she could continue to protect her child, and keep a close watch over him. However, what she hadn't quite anticipated, was locking a target across the street from her, with whom she assumed was still behind bars. Though, that didn't mean much when apparently you had magical transportation, against your will.

"Isaac?" She called out, stood dead in her tracks. Her son locked up in a little place she'd managed to secure herself, away from others she'd clocked had since arrived. There was no telling how people would react, and the last thing she needed was for her kid to be in the line of firm. Tension breeded uncertainty, and not being able to predict her surroundings concerned her. Greatly.

You hadn’t thought about anything except holding Orion in your arms since the moment that jail cell slammed shut behind you. The finality of that echoing crash rang in your ears for weeks. There were moments—brief, fleeting—when you managed to dull the ache in your chest without him, but they were rare. Mostly, they came with the full moon, when distraction replaced the quiet and the loneliness didn’t get the chance to creep in.

Los Angeles felt like a chance. A real one. An opportunity not caged by iron bars or bad choices. “A new life,” you whispered to yourself as you walked the streets, eyes scanning every building, half-expecting him to step out of one and end the search you’d been running on desperation and hope. “A new start.”
