Hi! So, I've never seen the Terastal phenomenon in person but a friend of mine in the academy has sent me a few videos and there's one thing I can't figure out.

Do Pokemon go transparent when they Terastallize or are they just highly reflective? My friend won't answer because they like to mess with me and the environments in the videos they send make it hard to tell.

they're reflective! when pokemon terastallize, they're surrounded by terastal energy, which in its physical form has a very crystalline structure. similarly, the jewels that form on top of their heads aren't heavy because they're really just energy! they just look like jewels because terastal energy forms into that kind of structure.

fun fact, down in area zero, the reflections from tera crystals are so bright that even at night it's very easy to see down there! the air has a sort of, eh, glittery appearance to it? honestly there are some concerns about how safe breathing the air down there is, but it's going to take a lot more research into terastal energy to figure out whether or not it's a potential danger.

Every now and then I see a little group of Snover and an Abomasnow wander around near the edge of the forest I live near, and I've noticed that the Snover seem to stop at random trees and give them a hug. The Abomasnow seems to be perfectly fine with them doing it so I'm wondering if that's normal behavior for Snover? Maybe they think the tree is another Abomasnow?

that's an adorable mental image, but they're probably just scenting/investigating those trees! snover are able to tell the difference between an abomasnow and a regular tree, since being able to do so is important for sticking with their group. they also secrete a saplike oil that allows them to mark where they've been, and they rub this oil on trees and rocks in their territory. smelling the oil thats on the trees and leaving their own is kinda like social media for snover!

Sometimes when I walk Kermit, she'll go under my jacket if there's a sudden noise or something similar. It probably is a safety/shelter thing

i thought shuppets under eaves were a myth. do they float there? why eaves and not following people around? before houses did they hide under rocks?

have you never seen one near a house? they do indeed float up there. i imagine it's because it gives them some protection from other pokemon while also keeping them from getting chased away. most people aren't going to tolerate a shuppet following them around! it's more about ease of access without being noticed by the people in the house.

they don't NEED to be in eaves, though. just a convenient spot to be. you can also find them just out in the open, and sometimes lingering under trees.
