being anti ai is making me feel like in going insane. "you asked for thoughts about your characters backstory and i put it into chat gpt for ideas". studies have proven its making people dumber. "i asked ai to generate this meal plan". its causing water shortages where its data centers are built. "ill generate some pictures for the dnd campaign". its spreading misinformation. "meta, generate an image of this guy doing something stupid". its trained off stolen images, writing, video, audio. "i was talking with my snapchat ai-" theres no way to verify what its doing with the information it collects. "youtube is impletmenting ai based age verification". my work has an entire graphics media department and has still put ai generated motivational posters up everywhere. ai playlists. ai facial verification. google ai microsoft ai meta ai snapchat ai. everyone treats it as a novelty. every treats it as a mandatory part of life. am i the only one who sees it? am i paranoid? am i going insane? jesus fucking christ. if i have to hear one more "well at least-" "but it does-" "but you can-" im about to lose it. i shouldnt have to jump through hoops to avoid the evil machine. have you no principles? no goddamn spine? am i the weird one here?

Really fucking hate doing this. Kind of update from last post, i had to flee my dad’s house because he physically assaulted me during an argument and left me covered in bruises, including a massive fucking handprint on my face, and he tried to physically prevent me from leaving the house after (he screamed at me as i ran away and left a number of abusive text messages afterwards). I left New Mexico Im getting help starting over from friends elsewhere, and my father promised he would help financially and acted as if he was remorseful. He is not, and he has attempted to downplay the severity of what he did to me. I can no longer rely on him for financial support and i do not feel safe accepting his help anymore. My father admitted he has difficulty controlling his anger because i remind him of my mother. He is not healthy to be in contact with, even with distance.

I’m currently taking commissions on ko-fi because im struggling to afford basic shit. I’m trying to get into long term hospitalization (i recently got out of a different hospital, they kind of made things worse instead of better though.) i wont have to worry As much soon but insurance is taking a very long time to process.

I also have a tip jar. I hesitate to advertise my ko-fi too much bc it just Feels bad asking for money online, but with things are the way they are, if you like what i make and want to support me i would appreciate any sort of help a lot. Sorry for asking for help like this but things are kind of fucked rn.

What really ticks me off when talking about ai is when people are like "it's unavoidable" or "you'll have to learn to use it someday" or "its going to be part of the future" like no it's plenty avoidable actually if you have a spine stronger than a dandelion. You simply say "no" and continue to use your own goddamn brain.

I don't usually comment on the things I reblog, because I mostly feel as anything I have to say is simply not important or informative enough to justify, and that it would just distract from the original message, but my older sister died a few weeks ago. I'm holding on pretty well, as we weren't close, nor did we grow up together, but the grief that ripples through my family impacted at such a magnitude that it's postponed and ended several grudges and dni's among family members. That is enough to justify me to care more than I think I do. That being said, my sister dying shouldn't mean my family has to go broke to top the grief off.

Nobody should have to pay for a natural process of life. Everyone dies. Everyone has loved ones that will die. And more, people die in completely stupid ways, that can sometimes be their fault, and can sometimes be in a way that hurts others, but that doesn't mean they don't deserve a burial.

(By the way, if you think that someone being a bad person or doing bad things means that they should be treated as less than human, then you're sharing the same mindset as war criminals and bigots, for they justified the same thing to themselves, nobody is entitled enough to pick and choose who is worthy of the grace we offer humans, even if they are the fucking worst, doing otherwise is unconsciously stating that they aren't human, therefore humans cannot do what they did.)

Our government can afford free funeral and mortuary services, any government can, we live in a society where it is illegal to just ask for your loved ones body so you can bury them yourselves due to laws that although were enforced to prevent bad things from happening, cannot prevent those bad things from happening in different circumstances.

truly just as we have universal health care we need to have universal death care. dying is not optional and funerals should not be a financial burden for families.

Hello, I'm Ola, a graduate student from the faculty of science - Al-Azhar University in Gaza Palestine. I truly appreciate you taking a moment to read my story. As you reading my message, myself and my family, “my mother, father, three sisters, and my little brother,” are fighting death in northern Gaza and trying to survive under all kinds of suffering including but not limited to destruction, fear, and instability, starvation, thirst, and poverty.

Since 471 days until now, we have been struggling to get proper food after prices increased by 15 to 20 times, struggling to have clean water for use and drinking.

After a long and tiring effort, my Tumblr account @olasfamily has been disabled, and I have to start over. I feel sad and lost, but I don’t want to face this journey alone. I kindly ask you to share and support us; every donation and every share means a lot to me in this difficult time. Please don’t leave me to face this challenge on my own.

I am writing to you as we struggle through very difficult conditions with winter approaching. The cold is becoming harsher by the day, and we lack the warm clothing needed to endure this freezing weather. We cannot afford to buy new clothes due to the steep rise in prices, and most of what we have is old and worn out.

Some friends and I have been helping Farah, a Palestinian girl who has been through some heartbreaking family tragedy, leave the country using a student visa. She now has a scholarship to continue her nursing studies in a French university, but we've reached a roadblock: the embassy is asking for 8400€ for her to be able to even leave the country.

So we are putting together a fundraiser to cover this and, if possible, some expenses so she can live in France and help her family! Please help us reach this goal if you have a little bit to spare!

Any little bit helps, and if you can't help right now, sharing this would be kindly appreciated! I know there are a lot of these fundraisers, and it's easy to become desensitized, but helping out here could really change a life! Thank you! <3

It literally makes me feel like I'm losing my mind that almost no one in the global north on here will speak about, or even react to, the fact that the US is literally funding Israeli owned death traps for starving families.

The United States and Israel have made it impossible for all actual aid to enter Gaza. Then, private contractors from the United States created the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), with Israeli support, to "take over" aid distribution. They are preventing aid distribution by all humanitarian groups in Gaza that distribute aid in coordination with the U.N., and replacing them with GHF. These GHF sites are set up in collaboration with Israeli military to lure in starving families and gun them down.
