Men of St. Joseph Outback Spots
Twice a year, the Men of St. Joseph host a retreat weekend focused on husband/wife and parent/teen pairs. It is a fantastic opportunity for family members to get together, grow in love and faith, all while having a bunch of fun.
Since Fall 2015, we’ve had the honor of documenting the Outback weekends in their entirety to help tell the story of the weekend for future attendees. In anticipation of the upcoming Fall weekend, we wanted to create a series of quick, simple videos to help market the retreat and encourage attendance. Each video had a different target audience--1) General 2) Parents/Teens 2) Husbands/Wives 4) General. You can view the videos here:
1) The Opportunity of a Lifetime
2) Grow Your Relationship with Your Teenager
3) A Weekend of Fun, Relaxation, and So Much More
4) One Week Left!

Droning
We knew we were going to get into drone photography and videography at some point, and this Summer we finally made that happen. We’re happy to introduce the DJI Phantom 4 as one of the latest tools we’ve acquired to step up our game.
After playing...*ahem*...we mean, practicing with it for hours on end in an empty field nearby, we felt comfortable taking it to flight for one of our clients. The images were stunning and the video...well, we’re working on that right now and can’t wait to share. Stay posted, we’ll be sharing some beautiful shots from our beautiful, new drone very soon!

Starla + Samuel Wedding (4.16.16)
Back in April, we had the joy of shooting the wedding of Starla and Samuel. The day was filled with plenty of joy-filled moments, family, and lots of love. We had a lot of fun capturing some of the couple’s most memorable moments and had even more fun sharing with them the final product!

“The Visitation” - Coming Soon
I moved down to Mobile, AL with my wife just over a year ago. Soon after making the move, we went on a Men of St. Joseph’s Outback weekend retreat. Even if they’ve never attended, many locals would be familiar with this event, or at the very least, with the beautiful grounds where the event is held bi-annually.
Out on a beautiful piece of land with a man-made lake, next to a horse farm/riding school, with cabins for couples and groups, away from the sounds of the city (or suburbs really), Camp Grace hosts these two events for literally hundreds every year. To make a long story short, it’s a retreat where you focus on your relationship with the person you came with (spouse, child, parent) and spend the weekend working on your relationship wherever you’re at in it.
On the second night, I was introduced to a painting by local artist, Stephanie Morris, and the story told with the painting struck a chord with me. By chance, since that event, I have become friends with the artist, which isn’t very difficult seeing as how nice both her and her husband are. (They pretty much sum up what I think of when I hear the phrase: Southern hospitality.)
While talking one day, I told Stephanie the effect her painting had on me, (and, I imagine, many others) and asked if we could tell its story. She humbly agreed.
We’re still working on the project as I write this, but hope to be able to share with you and the rest of the world, the story of “The Visitation” this Summer. Stay tuned for more details!

All Smiles:D - Making a commercial for an orthodontist
When Dr. Donaghey called me into his office to discuss a video project, I was a bit nervous. It’s that not I didn’t think I could do it, it’s just that there’s only so much you can can do at a doctor’s office to show that it’s a safe, friendly, clean space where you’d feel comfortable sending your child.
As soon as I stepped in the doors, however, my apprehension was left outside.
The project: Create a 1-minute video for Donaghey Orthodontics that showcases the staff, the setting, and the friendly atmosphere. Needs to be ever green and usable online, as well as at events. (The project came about due to the sponsorship of an event.)
Timeline: 3 weeks (film, edit, deliver)
The shoot took place over the course of 2 business days and during a staff only day and was easily the most fun I’ve ever had at a doctor’s office. The facilities were clean and modern--very appealing to the first timer walking in. The staff was professional, friendly, and a hoot (yeah, I said ‘a hoot’). This was going to be easier than I thought...
Leaving on my third day, I felt like I had become a part of the staff there, they had made me feel that welcome. At the end of the project, I was able to deliver a final video that showed off what an enjoyable place and experience a visit to the orthodontist can be, and I think the staff and patients were nicely surprised.
A big thank you to the staff at Donaghey Orthodontics for their time, patience, and professionality. They truly live out their tagline: Your smile. Our Passion. One Goal.
