The Benefits of an IB PYP Education for your child

Choosing the best program for the child can seem daunting, especially in India, where there are so many options to choose from. For school admission enquiry form of leading IB schools, click here!
As parents, we all want the best for our children. When deciding between the best schools, consider the following reasons to choose a school offering the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP):
Learn lots of new things, subjects, and languages
Young children learn lots of information from their environment, and quite quickly. Enrolling the child in a program like the IB PYP ensures that they get the best education possible because of the breadth of the curriculum.
In IB PYP programmes children start expressing themselves creatively, learn different languages, get physically active and learn all of the critical space at an accelerated pace. Moreover, although some non-IB programs might have a similar variety, only the IB Primary Years Programme ensures that the best mentors with extensive qualifications are teaching the child.
The curriculum is engaging and creative
The IB PYP is specifically designed to be as interactive and hands-on as possible, so that children connect with the school learning to the outside world, and participate in engaging activities and discussions. In a regular primary years classroom, students sit back and listen to a teacher for most of the time and just focuses on academics. This is never the case in an IB program, as students' engagement is valued and recognized as a vital part of effective learning.
Emphasizes global and real-world contexts
Children in the IB PYP gain an invaluable intercultural understanding which is not found in other private or public school programs. In addition to that, they are inspired to apply new concepts to the real world, thus making the curriculum more memorable and relatable to them.
Small classes mean extra attention to each child
The IB schools in Mumbai prioritize an individualized approach to learning. For children, especially young children, extra attention can make all the difference in getting a comprehensive and supportive education. The IB PYP teachers are able to give each unique student individual support that is tailored to their needs, thus making different things more digestible to students with different learning styles.
Students are taught essential life skills and interpersonal skills
Unlike many other programs, the IB PYP makes sure to incorporate life skills along with academics. Students who learn more than regular curriculum are equipped with lifelong skills that become second-nature to them. Moreover, they are encouraged to be open-minded and are quite eager to create a better world. The IB schools go far beyond academic subjects as they know the long-term benefits of teaching children life skills and ethical decision-making.
Well known worldwide
The final reason to choose this program is its impressive reputation, being renowned by institutions worldwide. In over 5,000 schools, in 150 countries, the IB education programs flourishes and only continues to grow every school year.

How schools are facilitating schooling from home during lockdown

None of us was prepared for this quarantine, conference calls, and troubleshooting crashed servers as kids are trying to adjust in homeschooling. Nor do parents know how to support the kids as they grapple with no school, no in-real-life friendships, no activities, and no end in sight.
Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, various schools have started schooling from home during lockdown. The schools have informed parents about the modalities of running classes and have also shared the study timetable. The teachers are continuously getting trained to conduct and manage online classes. Videos, PowerPoint presentations, and mark sheets are being shared with the students.
Moreover, for those with poor or no internet connectivity, recorded videos of classes conducted are being sent to the children. It is a difficult challenge for teachers who have been thrown into this situation, but they are accepting the changes and are moving forward continuously.
The schools are also taking into account parents' feedback on these online classes. Furthermore, to make learning and teaching more convenient, teachers are available to clear doubts. Various schools have also made class-wise groups where students can post their assignments and queries if any.
A convenient weekly timetable has been set by teachers who can help students to manage their work efficiently. This is a stressful time for children and teachers should try to keep children stress-free and help them create happy and unforgettable memories.
Parents, teachers, and students are all adjusting as schools across the country closed due to the coronavirus threat. Various schools such as Mount Litera School International in Mumbai are posting quality content on their website and class groups regularly so that students get to learn and engage more.
Even some schools are taking online class lectures on the Zoom App. Principals are in touch with their teachers through video conferencing to receive reports of the progress made and to plan further lessons. The schools are not just focused on only academics but co-scholastic areas as well. Regular appeals are being made to parents, students, and staff to follow government advisory.
Teachers are preparing videos and audios with the help of YouTube and are always in touch with both students and parents. Some parents have informed schools that the children do not have books and copies, but schools have assured them that the notes provided would be sufficient and meanwhile, students can study from the provided material and note them in their old notebooks.
The presence of COVID-19 will directly and permanently change education in the future. And children must be able to adapt to working and studying online for any kind of reasons and situations.
Not anyone but time will tell whether online classes will be a good substitute for normal classes, and if they are, there will be a growth in online educational programs and online universities. If searching for an online school admission form of best IB schools in Mumbai, click here!

COVID-19: Keeping children learning during lockdown
India, like most countries in the world, has ordered all schools to close in order to stop the spread of COVID-19.Keeping that in mind, many schools have asked parents to make sure that learning continues even at home.

Schools such as Mount Litera School International in Mumbai, have started online lessons, and their teachers are constantly helping students by sending content, videos, worksheets, and solved questions.
Moreover, in many schools, to make learning more convenient, teachers are available to clear doubts.
Class-wise groups are made where students can post their assignments and queries if any. All this is done by various schools so that children can study at home during lockdown; however, there can be additional challenges for parents that can include connectivity problems, limited data access, and power blackouts. But there are resources online that can make home learning a little more comfortable and more fun. For those with limited connectivity, could consider buying night time bulk data options for off-peak downloads.
Stay Calm
This is an unusual situation, and no one really knows how long it will be before schools reopen. Parents should try different approaches and be prepared to learn along with their kids, take a break when children need to – and have fun. Above all, try to stay calm and help children to stay calm.Parents who have access to open-source school learning materials can share with others using Google Drive with Google suits applications on the free service. Google Meets, Google Hangouts, Zoom, and Skype, are also great platforms for live group learning or tutoring. Parents can take advantage of this by engaging their children with their friends, so they all can learn together.
Holistic Approach
Parents shouldn’t expect their children to study all day. Parents should try to mix it up with physical and creative learning. Home learning can be challenging, and parents should follow a holistic approach. It is advisable to not rely on computers for everything and make sure to engage children in lots of physical exercises as part of the learning day to help strengthen children’s minds and keep them interested.
Be Flexible
While most parents may think they need to run a set timetable, this is not the time to be strict; it is time to be flexible in dealing with things properly. These are tough times.
Children can get disturbed as they have to sit the whole day at home and not meet their friends and play with them. Not only that parents can also get irritated during this lockdown period which can lead to emotional disturbance of the whole family. And making the routine strict can add to that. The process of home learning can feel isolating, especially with children who are not usually homeschooled and are used to being with other children.
Be prepared to play traditional physical games at home or play board games as an alternative to online activities.
With their regular weekday routines gone, children will be finding it hard to have mom and dad as teachers suddenly, but it is the time to support children. Want to know the online school admission process of leading schools in India, click here!

For every parent, the initial years of their children’s growth are vital for their overall development. Thus, to be sure about that, an excellent academic base becomes the key. And, to fulfil the purpose, a good educational board is a must.
Today in a world full of competition, we all have myriad choices of educational boards such as ICSE, CBSE, IB, among many others. But how to choose one, among so many, and how we will know that the school is contributing to fulfilling our dreams? Today we have a varied choice of educational boards like CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education)and ICSE (Indian Certificate of Secondary Education) IB (International Baccalaureate), among others.
All of these boards contribute to our child’s growth and our dreams in different ways. Although an international baccalaureate top international school in Mumbai will be able to provide kids with the exposure they need in today’s competitive world. This article will help to get to know how IB education helps to fulfil the child’s dream:
So here are various reasons that we have jotted down explaining why enrolling children in the best international school in Mumbai is the right decision:
Exceptional Experience
The IB schools are less in numbers, and one must only take admission in a certified international baccalaureate school to be able to enjoy that exclusivity. Some of the best IB board schools are located in Mumbai. These schools never stuff children in a class. Then only children will get the required amount of care and attention. Also, the international school’s admission procedure is quite challenging yet exciting. They will face academic challenges with full confidence, and this relative uniqueness of the schools is an advantage for children.
Holistic Education
The comprehensive education is the reason that makes IB schools stand out from the plethora of other schools. IB curriculum provides exposure to a lot of subjects as compared to the curriculum of other boards. Moreover, children will have the option to choose from a wide range of subjects. However, one should not confuse holistic education with the phrase” Jack of all trades, master of none”. Whatever subject the child will have an interest in he is taught to bring mastery in that particular field and then will focus on other subjects.
Personal Development
IB make sure that their students grow as a good human being. IB schools in Mumbai aim to create a more peaceful environment by creating more socially conscious learners who will go on to make meaningful contributions to society even after they’ve completed their education. These international board schools in Mumbai believe in a balanced approach between studies and extracurricular activities. They do not believe in giving children only textbook knowledge but provide them with moral life lessons as well. These schools’ vision is to build potential leaders for tomorrow who will take on life challenges in full swing and with full confidence.
Global Recognition
The international aspect of IB board schools is the best part. All leading universities recognize the IB Diploma Program, IB Primary Program, IB Middle Years Programme, and IB Career-Related Program, thereby ultimately putting the child on a world stage. On the other side, country-specific programs don’t have the same global reach, so it’s harder for international universities to understand the results and compare the child somewhat to other candidates.
Through global exposure, children get the opportunity to meet other students from different cultures and lifestyles. This helps children to raise their interest in the new aspects which they will never get to know from anywhere else. Enhanced knowledge of different cultures and people will boost their confidence and will help them to grow in a better way.
University Preparation
The IB schools in Mumbai prepare the child for higher studies at the university level. So when in college the child will be asked to make a four thousand word research paper, he/she will not feel the need to refer to the help-books and will be able to do the whole research by himself.
Now the question arises how will we get to know that the school is contributing in the right manner. For that, Mount Litera School International, Mumbai is arranging an event for the parents to experience schools and classrooms, and how their school treats their children, what facilities they provide, among many others. Details about the events are as follows:
Back to School — with a PYP Twist

Lastly, IB schools make children get into good study habits and also helps them to learn proper time management. These skills are fundamental to a kid’s growth. Once the kid acquires these necessary skills, they will be able to take charge of their learning. Over some time, this transition will become more natural. And, they will not face the difficulty in shifting from a school environment to the university level, and then to the next level.

DP is an extremely rigorous programme, but it is purposeful hard work, and the skills that students develop are useful and lasting.
It’s scope
The six subject groups combined with the core components- CAS, the theory of knowledge TOK, and EE, which means that students are exposed to all the main academic streams and more. Students get a chance to experience the different educational possibilities available to them.
Creating a sense of ownership
The structure and implementation of the IB diploma programme are such that students have to take ownership of their understanding of each subject. The term independent learner is used quite often in IB schools. And, this is what IB is all about- the student is at the centre of the process of learning, with the teacher acting as a guide and facilitator.
Its openness to teacher input
The syllabus of the diploma programme is broad and flexible. This allows teachers to tap into student’s expertise, hobbies, interests and academic specialisations. Effective classroom instruction depends on a teacher’s enthusiasm and opinion about the material being taught. When teachers become an active part of deciding teaching material, they automatically become been an active and convinced and this is a sure way to inspire students.
It’s multifacetedness
Just as the six subject groups allow for academic diversity, the inclusion of the creativity, activity, service (CAS) component enable students to gain holistic education. Students cannot ignore sports, arts, and others which are important part of one’s personality. IB programmes aim to produce well-rounded individuals.
It’s relevance
The IB diploma programme aims to provide an education that is relevant to the modern world. Given the speed of change, this is not a very easy task. Yet, the efforts that are being made are commendable. This shows that students are working within frameworks that are familiar to them and that they can use it in future.
It’s international-ness
While many qualifications carry the word “international” in their title, very few of them reflect this in them. The IB however, has international-mindedness at the core of its courses. This involves the inclusion of divergent cultures, which means that a student has access to material from so many different parts of the world. This creates a better sense of appreciation and understanding of different cultures.
It’s fun
Yes, the diploma programme can be a lot of fun. When the deadlines are there and the work piles up, perhaps it’s not always easy to see the fun side of it. But, at the end of the day, most IB teachers and students will tell how much fun it has been!

Why More And More Parents Are Opting For International Baccalaureate?
In a rapidly changing world, an individual must be equipped with the skills to thrive. As the world merges into a global village, the need to embed future-ready skills and proficiencies in the pedagogy becomes inevitable. An increasing number of parents are now choosing International Baccalaureate (IB) programs over other boards such as CBSE, ICSE, especially in Mumbai.
But what it is about IB that makes it such an appealing option for parents? And how it is different from existing state-based curricula and certificate?
So here are various reasons why more and more parents are opting for Mumbai international schools:

Broad approach towards education
The diversity that the IB curriculum has is incomparable to any national curriculum. IB schools in Mumbai offer students great exposure with a wide range of subject choices. While students of other boards have to choose between regular commerce and science streams, IB curriculum offers psychology, global politics, philosophy, film, among other subjects which are not generally provided in traditional schools.
Practical teaching methodology
The most common problem among students is understanding and retaining what they are taught. The international schools in Mumbai follow concept-based learning, where the students are taught the concepts rather than memorising facts without really understanding the concept.
Holistic development for future
While preparing students to be globally competent, it is equally essential to ensure their holistic development. This cannot be achieved with a rote-centric teaching process and obsolete textbooks. The IB curriculum helps students in developing emotional intelligence as they inquire into the world around them. IB curriculum helps students fuel their passion. The flexibility of the IB program allows students to sample a wide variety of topics and make an informed choice for their major.
Global Skills Development
The IB curriculum encourages a spirit of inquiry and helps students develop research skills and critical thinking. Schools in Mumbai help students to think globally within a complex and hyper-connected world. Through this, students can take responsibility for their learning and understanding. This is important for their studies after schooling.
International recognition
The IB curriculum is recognised by top international universities due to the unique programmes it offers. These programmes encourage students of all ages to consider both local and global contexts to appreciate diverse cultures. Due to the unique approach they follow, to train their students the board is recognised internationally.
Global opportunities
IB success means not only admission to global universities but also scholarships and even the course credits. But beyond the rates of college admissions, it seems that the IB program prepares its students for the world of tomorrow, which is a better way as compared to many other programs.
The points mentioned above shows why more and more parents are choosing top international schools in India. Considering the challenges, one is facing today; parents need to appreciate an educational framework that is holistic, global in outlook, transformational and timeless.

The problem with parenting is that one doesn’t get any preparation time, such as for exams. One learns it while doing it. Parents are always on stage, performing for an audience that observes and responds to every thought or action. As soon as one master a situation, it’s replaced with a different situation or challenge.
