The Government Wants To Ban Your NSFW

We all knew it was coming, and now it's finally here. As of 5/8/2025, Senator Mike Lee of Utah and Congresswoman Mary E Miller of Illinois have introduced to both the Senate and House what they are calling the "Interstate Obscenity Definition Act". To put it shortly, it's legislation intended to ban all forms of visual pornography and other NSFW content from the internet by amending the Communications Act of 1934.

This legislation has been introduced twice before, and both times it didn't progress very far. But with Age Verification bills and a war on NSFW content on the rise, this is not one to leave alone and hope it doesn't progress like the last times it was introduced.

The text of the prior bills as to how they intend to do this are to modify the Communications Act to disallow all forms of "obscenity" by defining it as follows:

"(38) OBSCENE; OBSCENITY.—

“(A) IN GENERAL.—The term ‘obscene’ or ‘obscenity’, when used in a manner or context that explicitly refers to, or could apply to, a picture, image, graphic image file, film, videotape, or other visual depiction, includes a picture, image, graphic image file, film, videotape, or other visual depiction that—

“(i) taken as a whole, appeals to the prurient interest in nudity, sex, or excretion;

“(ii) depicts, describes, or represents, an actual or simulated sexual act or sexual contact, actual or simulated normal or perverted sexual acts, or lewd exhibition of the genitals, with the objective intent to arouse, titillate, or gratify the sexual desires of a person; and

“(iii) taken as a whole, lacks serious literary, artistic, political, or scientific value."

This is a massive overreach and an attack on First Amendment rights of free speech and exchange of information on a scale that cannot be allowed in this current political climate. So I recommend that we get ahead of this while it's still in its infancy and let your representatives know without a shadow of a doubt that we will not stand for this.

"This Bill [insert House/Senate bill number here] is a grave attack on our rights as American citizens to access content and speech which is guaranteed to us under the First Amendment. Whatever your opinion on prurient content or pornography is, it is a vast overreach of the government to try and take away our rights as American adults to access lawful content. A blanket ban will do nothing to solve the issues related to it, and trying to ban it outright will only drive the industry further underground and give more power to those who would try to continue the industry illegally.

The better option is regulation so that this content can remain lawful and observed to ensure that it only reaches those who are allowed to access it and ensure that those who produce it are both safe and fairly compensated. Rather than criminalizing those who produce and share it when the exchange is between legal and consenting adults.

I encourage you to vote NO on [insert House/Senate bill number here]."

Final Goji's Head (AKA My bizarre obsession with measurements continues)

A handful might remember a post I made going into detail about the length of Godzilla's tail in Godzilla Final. At the end, I came to the conclusion that while the tail is 150 meters from base to tip, Godzilla's full-body length excludes 50 of those meters, making his full body length 200 meters. HOWEVER, something else that comes to mind is his head.

Just how big IS Godzilla's head in Godzilla Final Wars? A video on Youtube lists the size as 13 meters (42.6 feet.)

Using the comparing heights tool found here, I found that while that measurement is correct, it is the HEIGHT of Godzilla's head. I'm looking for the LENGTH of Godzilla's head (from back to snout). So I came up with my own estimation of 18 meters (60 feet.)

And after some cropping, flipping, rotating and resizing, I found that I was correct. Godzilla's head, at least in Final Wars, is about 18 meters (60 feet) long.

Sooo, if we were to include the length of Godzilla's head in his full body length, that length would come up to 218 meters.

Is my data flawed? Is there a detail I missed? I invite anyone who knows more about measurements and the metric system than I do to (civilly) discuss this with me, and if necessary, point out where I might have went wrong and show me how to properly find proper measurements.

Final Goji's Tail (AKA my bizarre obsession with measurements and stats)

So the official stats for Godzilla Final Wars (one of my favorite Goji films) lists Godzilla as 100 meters tall and that his tail is 100 meters long, according to Wikizilla. Now I mean no disrespect to the folks who came up with these measurements, and do not claim to be an expert in numbers or measurements, and especially not the metric system, but that tail length sounds a little too short to me. Especially when you look at his tail in certain shots

Now, I understand that perspective can play a part in how big or small something can seem, and I will note that three different goji suits were used for the movie, but still, I felt the need to do a bit of research and take some measurements myself.

SO I DID!!!

I had found some gifs of from some deleted scenes (original post here)

I took a still of Final Goji standing upright.

Then I took a still of him bending so his tail was out for its entire length.

I did what I could to resize everything as best I could so everything was the right size. Then, after some cropping and rotating, I was able to find this.

In Final Wars, Godzilla's official height is 100 meters (328 feet). Looking at his tail, we can see it is significantly longer than that. Take the extra length of the tail, and you get a segment of tail that reaches the middle of Goji's body, which would be 50 meters. Take that 50 meters and put it with the remaining 100 meters, and you get a tail that is 150 meters long.

Am I wrong? Maybe. Like I said, I'm not an expert in measurements, numbers, or the metric system.

Is this important? Not really? But it's been bugging me, and I felt the need to discuss it.

I invite anyone who knows more about measurements and the metric system than I do to (civilly) discuss this with me, and if necessary, point out where I might have went wrong and show me how to properly find proper measurements.

Now, let's meet the kids.

Here we have Dagnar II and Hertha. Dag Jr. wants fancies himself a warrior, and hopes to be like his father some day. He's brave and disciplined, but also a bit arrogant. Hertha smart, somewhat cynical, and usually there to pull Dag Jr's tail out of the fire if he gets in over his head. Being the oldest of the bunch, these two act as the de-facto leaders in the absence of their parents.

Here is Kirk and Meya. Kirk is tough, courageous, and always ready for a fight, but being the middle child, he's also a teensy bit insecure and temperamental, sometimes butting heads with Dag Jr. Meya is the glamorous one. She loves shining her scales and showing off her colors. She can be a tad dramatic, but she makes up for it with a deep sense of compassion for others, especially her siblings.

Next is Garth and Gyda. Garth loves humor and can often be found laughing or making others laugh with his jokes and antics. Gyda has a deep love for life. She loves to explore and experience nature. She's also very outgoing and loves to meet new people. However, she can be a bit of a chatterbox and has a hard time knowing when to stop talking.

And here we have the youngest of the bunch, Pyrite. An OC I made as a gift for my friend, @nightshadowsdomain. Pyrite is a cross between a Mountain Dragon and a Crystal Dragon. She was abandoned as an egg, but was found and hatched by Dagnar and Dina. She has dazzling patches of bright, shining scales all over her body, but unlike Meya, she's not interested in looks. She's feisty, enjoying a good wrestling match with her siblings, and is not one to take kindly to back-talk or disrespect. She can sometimes be a bit cocky and headstrong, much like her adopted father at her age.

Now for a bonus, here's Dagnar's younger sister, Dagnia. Unlike her brother, Dagnar, who was the pick of the litter, poor Dagnia was the runt. However, despite this, she and Dag have always been very close, always looking out for each other. Nia here is bold, snarky, and confident, some would argue a little TOO confident, and even as an adult, she can be caught getting into mischief. Thankfully she's also resourceful, able to talk or weasel her way out of trouble if Dag's not around to pull her tail out of the fire. Sometimes Dag and Dina worry that she might be a bad influence on the kids, but it's not the dragon way to turn your back on family, not matter what kind of trouble they cause.

Meet Dagnar and Dina, a mated pair of Mountain Dragons. I'm still working on what their personalities are like, but one thing is certain.

They're in love, and plan to be together until the end of their days.

I've even given them some offspring, all of whom are teenagers by dragon standards. Dagnar II, Hertha, Kirk, Meya, Garth, Gyda, and their adopted daughter, Pyrite.

And of course, they have a home. An abandoned castle with a massive hoard of gold and jewels.
