Esther smiled and took a seat next to him. She listened to him explain and she nodded. "I'm so sorry about your accident." She said softly. "But, I will say I don't think you're not smart anymore. I think it's just locked away up here somewhere. All we gotta do is find it." She said, her fingers, gently touching one of his temples.
She looked down at the book. "This is a good one." Esther nodded. She grabbed a piece of paper and a pen and started to write down a few words. "There are all hard words for me. Even though they're really common ones." She put the paper in front of him.
"Wanna try sounding them out?" She asked. "Take your time, I'm here all day." She smiled.

kyle knew he was in the best place to stay safe. the middle of nowhere, where no witches would come looking for him. though it did mean he doesn't have help, he didn't know anyone; he was left to struggle on his own. though he's trying hard to fix himself. return himself back to the man he was before with hopes and big dreams and a bright future. he tried college text books, ones he should know back to front by now but they just made him too frustrated. instead, fiction sits in front of him; lord of the flies. words are softly read out loud, stumbling repeatedly and trying his best to keep his frustration down.
hearing the voice across from him causes a small jump from him, and kyle looks up, almost embarrassed she watched him struggle. he sighs softly at the offer and forces a smile onto his lips. " I used to be... umm pretty smart I suppose. " he explains the best he can before letting out a breath and looking back down. " I had an.. accident, so it's hard to read now. don't really know what will help to be honest. " kyle look back to her, smiling again before making room for her. " not sure i'm the best student anymore, but I think i've tried everything else. " everything except magic, he's never going back to magic.

Esther walking over to the girl who was looking at the memorial for Cecelia. "She was my best friend. Helped me build my first little library on the corner of our street, just a little box that you could take a book or give a book." She smiled fondly.
"She went missing almost seven years ago, but she's out there. I know it. I can feel it."

"Hi, I love your little store. It's so cute." Esther grinned. "I run a library. I was wonderin' if you had any over stock or books I could buy to add to my library. It's small and I just wanna expand a little."

"Well yeah, I can fix the car but it's gonna cost ya." Isaac shrugged. "What did you do anyways? Hit a deer of somethin'?" He had to assess that damage before he truly knew what he was dealing with.

"She had the best laugh." Jeremiah smiled. "She loved music. She had the best voice. Sang in the choir and everything. I bet she'd love a big city with music." He nodded.
Jeremiah sighed. "Still running the church." He said with a frown. "Yeah. We all talked to the cops, the head detective was even sure her dad did it. He could never prove it. They never found her. I think the case haunts him."
Time didn't stop for anyone, Murphy knew that too well. "Seems great. She looks like she had a contagious laugh." And she did. He looked to Jeremiah. "I bet she is. Maybe a big city with lights and music." He tried to offer. He felt for the guy, he really did and he wished that he could offer more reassurance but the less people that knew where she was, the safer she was. That's all he cared about.
"A crooked priest that makes his daughter disappear. That is the making of a terrifying novel." It made the guy shudder slightly. And the fact it was his friend's reality. "And a shitty older brother." He sighed. Murphy was an older brother, if anything happened to his siblings - even by some insane twist it was their parents - he'd make it rain hellfire.
"And they're still around here?" He glanced around. "Have you talked to any authorities about it?"

"Look I'm not bein' an asshole and I'm not bein' sexist. I just don't have the need for an assistant. I'm a cheap mechanic is a small town. I ain't got the money to pay an assistant. I'm sure you can change a tire better than my brother, but you'd be makin' shit money, if any."

"Hi." Esther walked over to the male. "Did you want some help, Darlin'?" She asked. She had over heard him reading out loud to himself and he seemed to be struggling. "You know before I became a librarian I hated readin'." She admitted. "I know weird right? My Daddy is an English teacher so I couldn't just get away with not readin'." She chuckled.
"My words get all mixed up sometimes. I struggle too."
