Also tho too, Reggie was the one who gave her their CD AND their band shirt. Without the CD Julie wouldn’t have found it, played it and brought them to her. The shirt though is what really ties that link to her mom and them like Julie walking in with this Sunset Curve shirt and the boys being like 👁️👄👁️

Luke’s reaction to Bobby only being alive bc of him flirting with his girlfriends mom is pure gold BUT the bigger reaction would be the realization that Reggie also did it too

“YOU TOLD HER ‘Heres a t-shirt, size beautiful.’” And Reggie insisting he was just being nice and to not hold it against him. They just have a moment of like “omg, we met your mom. I think about the fact that Bobby/Trevor flirting with Julies mom is the whole reason he’s still alive and the guys are dead like

The way too that Luke had trouble poofing in bc he flickered and it was only when he looked back at Julie he was able to fully poof in.

In the myth of Eurydice and Orpheus they’re allowed to leave the Underworld as long as they don’t look back but when he approaches sunlight and goes to share in the light with her and he looks at her she then disappears bc he looked back

BUT when Luke looks at Julie he disappeared from the Hollywood Ghost Club and instead appears at the Orpheum, he was rewarded for looking back

ITS THE DETAILS IN PERFORMANCES LIKE IN EDGE OF GREAT 😩🤌

Like from Luke’s perspective, every other performance Julie and him have such great chemistry and then in that performance he is so confused bc something clearly changed from last time (which is the conversation that Julie has with Flynn but he doesn’t know that) but he doesn’t know that, he just sees how Julie seems to be avoiding him the boy is DESPERATE for her to look at him

Bc I feel like after Finally Free (you can see the moment when Julie holds the note at the end of the song) HE IS IN LOVE and it’s after his friends tell him “hey you and Julie 👀” like they’re just having this normal conversation that friends would have with one another about that topic (just like the crush conversation Julie and Flynn have about Luke like it’s such a natural and relatable conversation to have with a friend)

You can also see the change too in Edge of Great a lot where Luke before this point is really just focused on like the performance and music aspect of it but during Edge of Great he’s not focused on that rather he’s focused on Julie bc Julie has became his music (he was head empty only thought is music but then Julie comes into his life and it’s just head empty Julie lives rent free) like he only does that guitar solo to make Julie look at him like he sings with her with his guitar, he’s not looking at the audience or anything he just is looking at her bc that is what he wants DESPERATELY THE BOY IS SMITTEN

if you re watch or watch the edge of great scene in Julie and the phantoms, you will notice that Julie DOES try to take Flynn's advice and tries to avoid staring at Luke. You can see in the first verse that she turns to Reggie, then to Alex, but not Luke. Luke notices this and kind of turns to Alex , almost questioning why she didn't look at him. then straight after, he turns right back to Julie.

Then in the second verse, Julie and Luke make eye contact, then after Luke sings the line, "It's never straight, no", he tilts his head to Julie, trying to get her to come over. Then Julie ignores it, and carries on singing to the audience. It's so clear on Luke's face that he's confused. Then for the whole second verse he carries on staring at her. Also when Reggie came over to the same mic as Luke, he gave a confused expression to Reggie.

Then, at the bridge of the song, Luke is STILL staring at Julie. And, as we ALL know, he plays that guitar solo, which is pretty clearly to get Julie's attention.

AND FINALLY AS WE ALL KNOW, the iconic scene when they both stare into each others eyes and sing the last part of the song together. THAT BIT LITERALLY MELTS MY HEART EVERY TIME I WATCH IT!!!!

I have a problem I hope someone can help with, there is this urge to watch the Finally Free episode (Luke’s birthday episode ya know bc- my birthday today or whateva heheheeh 😆) but then I will have to watch the entire rest of Jatp bc I mean once you rewatch one of the episode you just HAVE to watch the rest bc obviously, but I have college student responsibilities I still need to do so we see my dilemma here 😩

I HAVE THOUGHT ABOUT THIS SAME EXACT THING TOO like has he just worn them so much he’s built up Vans pain endurance or yeah ghosts clearly don’t feel any sort of pain (also tho if he is a sock wearer he would most definitely own dinosaur socks bc Luke Patterson is a dinosaur nerd, just look at his wallet)

Or also Reggie’s dress shoes 👀 like those things are not meant to be worn for everyday activities, the soles (at least for like woman’s dress shoes) get so uncomfortable in like point two seconds

clearly ghosts dont feel pain because how tf is luke wearing his vans with no socks/no show socks and not getting blisters LMAO

As someone who works at a pet store I feel like Reggie would specifically get a long haired hamster and one that has that coloring he’d be like “Luke! Definitely getting him.” He’d get a little cat brush to brush him with even though they groom themselves.

Also if we ever get a hamster that looks like that I will now just picture it in an orange beanie and think of hamster!Luke

Bc with Caleb’s deal (he appeals to Luke’s weakness) of being able to play for a crowd forever if the boys join him, they can play music forever if they join him, but by the last episode they are turning that down bc joining Caleb means no music with Julie

So, everybody (rightly so) talks about how brilliant the Unsaid Emily scene is in Julie and the Phantoms s1e8, but rewatching it has made me appreciate the moments before the song begins 🥺 Charlie smashes it as Luke even in the scene where he and Julie talk to Luke's father, and he lets them inside the house - the uncertainty, worry, and even fear when he realises that Julie's plan is to show his parents the song that he poured his heart into writing for so long is everything 💔 The thought of letting Julie into such a painful, personal part of his life - one that isn't the fun, happy-go-lucky, passionate Luke that he tries so hard to show to the outside world 🥺 Even the hesitation when his father invites Julie inside is so well done 🥺
