HAPPY HATCH DAY REY! 🎉🐧

This lovely lady turned four today! We sea-lebrated this morning with a special hatch day waddle and an ice cake with four fish candles! 

Rey is one of the penguins hatched at the Aquarium as a part of The Association of Zoos and Aquariums Species Survival Plan for the critically endangered African penguin, in partnership with SANCCOB saves seabirds in South Africa.

But anyway, back to Rey. She’s the best.

Penguins have been known to push a fellow penguin into the water to check to see if the area is safe and free of predators.
