There are so many creators, writers, gif makers, artists, themed blogs, etc. That make the fandom fun.

Personally, I'm so happy to have met those I have in the fandom and have become close to so many people. Close enough for weekly game nights, close enough for dnd parties, close enough to basically always have someone to talk to and lean on, to play silly little games on tumblr in our fandom.

That's the point of fandom, to engage, to have fun, to be a community, and to support one another, and that's always been the goal.

Workplace relationships aren’t actually an HR nightmare with the right policies in place! It’s a pretty common situation (I’ve worked with married couples at every single workplace I’ve been at). Heck, most universities have specific procedures for finding a job for a professor’s spouse.

I just assume Anthony has a full image catalogue of Ian on his phone/computer ready at all times for situations like this. Remember that one episode where he just casually pulled up a photo of them as kids that his mom had emailed him? Like, he for sure asked his mom to dig up all their childhood photos once they reconnected. I’d say he also has the photos fully tagged with metadata, but we all know he keeps those details in his memory.

Welcome to Smoshing With The Stars! How this is going to work is I'm going to put my cast (shown here) through a DWTS simulation I found that's going to put them through random song/dance combos, scores, and eliminations until we have one winner! I have it set so there's 11 weeks and 15 teams, and I will probably do one week per day. Feel free to get into it, name the teams, talk about the dances and eliminations, who you're rooting for, etc. because I think this could be really fun if we get invested lmao.

Without any further ado, here's Week 1 of Smoshing With The Stars!

First up we have Ian and Emma dancing an Argentine Tango to the GLEE VERSION of Cell Block Tango and getting a near perfect score on WEEK ONE!! An excellent start to our season and an unexpectedly impressive start for Ian

Next up we have Shayne and Sharna dancing a Samba to Hip Hip Chin Chin. A Samba week one is HARD, but they got a 26/30, so it seemed like it payed off for them. I feel like Shayne was someone who I thought would either be really good or pretty bad lmaoo so I'm happy to see him starting off SO well!

Dancing a Charleston to "Charleston" it's Anthony and Britt! Again, I feel like we don't usually get Charleston's week one (if ever anymore lol). I know this seems like a big dip in scores, but 18/30 is pretty average for week one so I'm excited to see how he improves!

Dancing a Tango to "Dash" we have Amanda and Gleb! I didn't know this song but I listened to the little preview and it's an interesting song for a Tango? but I can see how they could probably make it work. I mean we've had weirder song/dance combos before lmao. Clearly they made it work because a 24/30 is also great for week one!

Dancing a Contemporary to "XO" we have Trevor and Rylee! This sim is really doing some interesting dances for week one lol like I feel like they don't start doing contemporaries until week 5 at the earliest or something. However Trevor dancing to Beyoncé is iconic and I'm so here for this! 22/30 I feel like is realistic for a typical "top of the leaderboard dancer" for week one. They usually don't give 9s and 10s but 7s and 8s is accurate for a good dance I feel like. Although, I think I need to take realism out the window for this simulation lmaoo because Ian started this show out with a near perfect score! I'm really excited for this partnership, so I hope they do well!

Next we have ARASHA AND VAL DANCING A QUICKSTEP TO "WINGS!!" I'm SO excited for this partnership omg and I'm LIVING for the Little Mix inclusion as someone who was a huge Little Mix fan when I was younger! They need to include more Little Mix songs on the show, but that's another topic for another day lol. Again 23/30 is GREAT for week one like everyone is doing so well so far! I'd love to see this dance omg I feel like Arasha and Val would be such a fire pairing!! I really hope they go far too!

Next we have Jackie and Brandon dancing a Foxtrot to "L-O-V-E" Noo this is our first bad dance so far 😭 IT'S JUST A FLUKE I PROMISE!! No because I KNOW Jackie would do soo well on dwts! I have faith in this couple that they will improve! 15/30 is not the best score but it's still early and I believe Jackie will have some good dances!

Dancing a Contemporary to "love again" it's Chanse and Daniella! Noo I had SO much faith in Chanse and Daniella I'm so sad they didn't do that well 😭 We all know Chanse would get to the finales on the real dwts so Chanse better come back and KILL IT next week! This is one of my top couples so I really hope they do well!

Dancing an Argentine Tango to "Quizád, Quizás, Quizás" it's Damien and Witney! Damien doing an Argentine Tango omg I'd DIE. Also very excited for this couple lmao and a 23/30 is veryy good for week one so I hope they do well too! Now I don't know too much about ballroom, but I feel like this song is a little slow for an Argentine Tango based on the preview but clearly they did some editing to the song to make it more upbeat and fit more. At least it's actually a Spanish song and not some random pop song so it's definitely a LOT easier to make it work lol.

Dancing a Tango to "Hurry Up and Save Me" (from A Cinderella Story?? 😭) is Olivia and Sasha! I'm gonna be honest and say this is one of those couples I wouldn't be TOO sad to get eliminated 😅 but they did pretty decent for week one too! Again weird song and dance combos lmaoo but let's see how they do moving forward!

Dancing a Viennese Waltz to "happier" it's Courney and Jenna! Wuh uh wuh!! Unfortunately they did so bad for some reason 😭 This had so much potential to do well so idk what happened to them omg. Courtney just had stage fright or something I SWEAR COURTNEY WOULD KILL 😭 I love you please don't explode get eliminated

Dancing an Argentine Tango to "Castle Walls" it's Angela and Pasha! Angela was another one like Shayne where I was like "she'd do incredible or flop" 💀 and she seems to be doing incredible!! Very excited to see where this goes and hope that Pasha doesn't get eliminated by week 3 like he usually does 😭

Dancing a Viennese Waltz to "So Close" it's Tommy and Alan! Ok this is actually seems like a good song for a Viennese Waltz so I'm so here for this! Also first mlm couple on dwts wooo!!! They did pretty mid but hopefully they have a chance to show their growth!

Dancing a Jive to "good 4 u" it's Kimmy and Ezra! This song would kill as a Jive actually omg! They'll probably do this at some point irl lmao. Again pretty mid but I feel like they have potential to do really well! Ezra is a new pro so I can't say too much about his teaching skills, but I think Kimmy has potential to be a good dancer so I'm excited!

Last but not least! Dancing an Argentine Tango to "Partition" we have Spencer and Koko! This is a CRAZY image omggg!! He kinda ate for week one so imagine Spencer unexpectedly crushing an Argentine Tango to PARTITION?!? Actually SO excited for them now omg! (Also bring Koko back as a pro PLEASE 🙏)

We have finished all our dances and have our scores, but before we get into our first elimination, let's take a look at our final leaderboard!

Now on to our first elimination *cue dramatic music and lights* It's... Courney and Jenna 😭 NOOOO!! MY SHAYLAS!! Homophobia at its finest smh 🙄 They deserved better!! They did have the lowest scores so I guess it makes sense but I'm SO sad 😭

So there is a tipping point in most successful companies where employees stop being a generalist and specialize in a specific job function. This is usually do to the typical reasons: to improve quality of your product, reduce reliance on one person that support a ton of projects, and to make a better work/life balance. Other reasons may include creating a distinct job title to retain talent, changing job titles to align to the industry, or to hire ahead of anticipated growth or expansion.

literally why does smosh need SO many people. i actually think they could do way better if they hired less people. i worked at a web media company similar to a smosh type of thing in a different country tho so maybe my experience is different but I dont understand why they need to have so many people. I look in descriptions and see these titles which are so unnecessary evp of production, evp of programming, director of production, production coordinator, operations and production coordinator, director of programming ...they have a SOCIAL MEDIA STRATEGIST. A "SOCIAL CREATIGE PRODUCER". A SOCIAL MEDIA COORDINATOR??? Like do we avtuallt need all these people. I understand the directors, camera men, art people, it, hr, office manager and like a couple of producers for the different channels who could very well be someone from the cast and obviously editors and it. I understand a lot of people should oversee the content before it goes out but this is actually like crazy to me. I remember in a video shane mentioned there was a person who handles JUST. THE BRAND DEALS. Like their entire job was just the brand deals.

Getting brand deals, vetting them, making sure they're fair, and working out all of the logistics is a full time job. Most companies have someone who just handles deals like that because it takes a level of expertise that the average person does not have.

Yes, they need those people. Smosh would not run the way it does without them. Everyone has the job they have for a reason.

One of the reasons why I’m fascinated by Smosh is that a lot of “old” turn of the web has disappeared. The company’s digital footprint has endured and that’s inspiring.

Even though nobody cares, I’m back with another Ianthony lore post with another bit of old Smosh/Ianthony lore that most people in this fandom likely don’t know about. There was this flash animation that was posted to the Smosh.com website in 2003 that Ian and Anthony both made, and it’s called wheelchair boy.

And of course, the credits that play the end of it that show that Ian and Anthony did in fact create this animation together because both of their names are there. This could very well be one of, if not, the first video that they made together in any way, even if it is just in the form of a flash animation, (just click on the left picture above to see the full image of the credits, I’m not risking ruining this post by accidentally sizing that image wrong) and that is why this piece of lore with this flash animation is so interesting to me, especially since no one else is actually talking about this or mentioning it, so I figured that I would just share this here myself. Ian and Anthony even voice some of the characters in this animation, which is also pretty interesting because Anthony sounds almost the exact same as he does now while Ian sounds noticeably different in comparison.

This animation was lost for years due to the shutdown of the Smosh flash portal section that this was on, but someone did find it a couple years ago and they reuploaded it onto YouTube, so you can watch it right here ⬇️. I hope you enjoyed this post and learned something new, I might do more posts on old Smosh lore in the future if I feel any motivation for it, so stay tuned :)

I do hope Ian and Anthony find something creatively fulfilling for themselves one day. I keep thinking about how Rhett and Link made Wonderhole to tell the stories they want to tell, outside the limitations of GMM and the Mythical machine. It’s not as profitable but it feels more personal, more authentic, more loved. I hope Ian and Anthony find that too.

not that i ever thought lunchtime with smosh was coming back after they removed it from the smoshcast channel banner, but the main channel devoting itself to sitcoms now with erin dougal being the showrunner just made it clear to me that this is most probably the reason why it could never come back. erin’s too busy and i don’t think there’s anyone else left to produce another podcast, unless they hire a new person specifically to do it. which is very unlikely.

rest in peace to my little podcast that was my only trace of ianthony content after the sketches ended. you deserved so much more.
