He watched her. He watched a delicate flower be plucked straight from the pampered garden it had spent its entire life in. How sad. How terribly, horribly common. Yet she would cause an irregular pattern in his heart, a foreign stirring caused by something that usually brought about only numbness. The sincerity of a get mass well card sent by a church to sufferers of the plague.
Pupils narrowed as the setting sun draped over their figures, giving the blood a morbid hue of rose and poppy. A mirage of their blooming could almost unfold upon his very eyes if not for the wilting priestess near his side. She was such a distraction.
Now, if only he could distract her from the sight that distressed her to the very bones of her foundation.

Her hiccups and tears nearly smothered the words she was managing to choke out, but Lutz understood them well enough. Casually, as if it were the simplest thing to do in the world, he reached his thumb to caress her cheek, catching a stray tear that had fallen from her misty hues. It was wiped away with a hue of unknown intimacy they may never know, yet its presence would be placed here none the less.
When the spell left her lips, he quite nearly stopped her—someone of her color, of her unmistakable hue, would surely- Though, this time, she would surprise him. Her intentions had never read into that of resurrection, -something reserved for only, as of now, Asha Rahiro- but instead of a somehow kinder desire...
A heart string was strung like a single cord off a banjo, ringing in his ears near painfully.
“Yes,” His voice is hushed, as though attending the funeral. “I am sure Yama would welcome her in no finer a state.” Clear, and laced with the slightest drop of emotion.
Before the priestess could properly register, the stone-like sleeping beauty was lifted away from her into the arms of the creation priest. He carried the corpse as gently as he would a small child, the thoughtless head laying against his shoulder as though it could stir at any moment.
As though it ever would.
His eyes were cast upon the setting sun, winds rustling their clothes form as though to gesture them back towards the city confines.
“Perhaps it is best we head back, and get her to the proper company.”

For the first time in forever, she felt so… What was that word again? Ah, yes.. Hopeless. Just outside of her city, where she had gone to take a quiet stroll away from prying eyes, she had found a beaten, bloody Yaksha half. They were meant to be one of the stronger ones out there, weren’t they? How could this happen- just outside of her city no less?  Even hunters came through these parts, she supposed, but never had she thought they could harm one to such a brutal extent. Appendages wrapped around the limp body of the unknown Yaksha half while they trembled violently.
Tears poured from shut scarlet eyes while muffled sobs escaped her clamped mouth. The rustle of branches snapping and leaves moving in the presence of the priest’s steps signaled his arrival. A dull crimson fluid flowed out of the fresh corpse onto her clothes, nearly staining them red again much like her older attire. Lutz’s voice, albeit tense, calmed the instability in her arms ever so slightly. “I-I don’t know what happened.. I only f-found her… Here……. Like this…” The tears which rushed down the side of her cheeks would not cease, however, as she lifted her head to reveal the distraught look laced in expression. “… H……… How could anyone do this…?” It was too cruel, for anyone, to have done such a thing. To inflict such harm on another couldn’t be forgiven.
Lavender eyes focused on her trembling, the concern rising within his chest becoming apparent to himself. Usually, such a sight would not have turned him cold. Even with the yaksha relation, the cataclysm had numbed such feelings to a near complete extent. The thought of the unnerved feeling coming from the priestess’s distress was entirely missed, it not even passing through his clouded thoughts.
Her tears sent him into an internal frenzy, although on the outside he merely fumbled slightly with removing a striped handkerchief from his suit pocket. It was neatly folded with violet and crimson stripes; to many, the colors would appear somewhat atrocious to the eye. He offered the cloth gently, discomfort vaguely displayed across his features. If one took the time to study them, they might have realized it was more so directed to the priestess rather than the corpse displayed across her now blood soaked dress.

“I… Have come to understand, People can be very cruel.”
His words sounded confident, but the hesitance of which he said them betrayed his uncertainty. Looking down the battered corpse, he glanced away for a small portion of a passing moment. Grief would drown the kindest of souls, and revive them as the most grotesque of monsters. The anger of which they struck with was one he could imagine himself aligned with, but never was it reality.

It’s finished. At least the Major Arcana is!
A few other people did the tarot for Kubera, which made me want to do my own because I have a few tarot decks myself and the interpretations are endless in Kubera.
also: 1 2 (The other major arcanas made, yaay! Go check em’ out!)
The rest are below the cut.

“Life is so damned hard… so damned hard, so damned hard,” he repeated aimlessly. “It just hurts people and hurts people, until finally it hurts them so that they can’t be hurt ever any more. That’s the last and worst thing it does.”
