So, okay. In the Anime, Nurse Joy is one of a couple of NPC families, probably an in-joke about being based on an RPG. In the original series, they were all identical individuals who were related (through marriage inexplicably sometimes) who shared the same name.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Not only are they physically identical, but they also have regional variants, which honestly are just like clothing style and hairstyle differences as art changes aside, they still look similar enough between regions that a hairstyle change could make them pretty good ringers for one another.
But, then in Diamond Pearl, they delivered this shocker:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
We met Marnie and Page Joy and their father, Karsten. The implication is that
1.) Nurse Joy genes are passed down matrilineally. Anybody can have a child with the Nurse Joy and there is a chance they'll be like a clone of the mother.
2.) Joy is in fact their last name and that too, is passed down matrilineally. Having a living father does not stop them from having the last name Joy.
Tumblr media
Now, Horizons/Pokemon SV gives us a unique specimen. A teenage/young adult delinquent Nurse Joy. Now, the Mossui Town Pokemon Center Lady isn't CONFIRMED to be a Nurse Joy relative and as far as we know, there's no other nurses in her region that resemble her.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In the most recent Japanese episode, we also see a Grandma Joy, confirming in fact that Nurse Joy does age, but also she's a Kanto Nurse Joy with a unique hairstyle compared to even the Joys at the same Pokemon Center.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But, then there's Molly. Molly is the first Pokemon Nurse who's a main character. She's IMPLIED to be a Nurse Joy as she claims to come from a family of Pokemon Doctors and is seen eventually working for Pokemon Centers.
Tumblr media
When she as a young Pokemon Doctor, she bore a passing resemblance to a Galarian Nurse Joy, but notably, has always had a distinct design from the identical Nurse Joy family, which grew more distinct when she became independent and decided to travel the world treating Pokemon rather than stay at a Pokemon Center.
However, despite being a distinct design, she shares the basic physical features of a Nurse Joy as well as the voice actor, implying some manner of relation.

clark shouting "people were going to DIE" in the face of the "think of the consequences of your actions" argument is so fucking important to me bc it really IS that simple you can't look at a genocide and just twiddler your thumbs bc you're a afraid of the consequences ESPECIALLY when you can do something about it and THATS WHAT CLARK DID. WITHOUT HESITATION. WITHOUT CONSIDERING HOW IT COULD HURT HIM. bc hes a good person and in his brain its really just people were going to die so i had to step in bc what else would it be. superman i love you i love you i love you

Only one person died. Only one singular person. In a superhero movie! The type that love to throw around casualty counts like it’s all a big game, waving off 70 people being killed in a handful of days like it’s no big deal, yet only ONE PERSON died.
And he was mourned. Superman cried for him—this stranger who gave him free falafel and, while facing death, told him that he still believed in him. Metamorpho, this cold-seeming man who is being actively blackmailed to do this, breaking down and taking the risk to believe in Superman, too, because seeing someone murdered right in front of him is devastating enough to take the risk. The newspapers run a front page article talking about how they’re going to memorialize him.
The stakes didn’t have to involve real actual loss of life. The threat of it was enough to convey the severity of the situation. Because human life is that important. All life is that important, at least to Superman who goes out of his way to save dogs and squirrels.
(Hawkgirl does kill SHEIN Netanyahu but genocidal dictators don’t count as human beings lol.)

The ableist ass job requirements for the average office jobs are like “you have to be able to lift 15+ pounds and be able to stand, sit for extended periods of time, kneel, hear, reach, speak and see” and the requirements for the presidency are like “can you form a sentence and speak 5 coherent words consecutively? no? how about 4? 4 is okay.”

The thing you gotta understand about Mr. Terrific in the new Superman movie is that he is always the smartest man in the room.
And he HATES it.
It's not that he hates being smart, he just hates how he can never quite predict how dumb everyone else is.
Just when he thinks he knows how low Guy's IQ is: "we are both of the cloth"
No, Lois, we can't repel down there, WHERE WOULD WE GET THE EQUIPMENT?
DO YOU REALLY NOT KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CIRCLES AND SPHERES?!??!?
WHY WOULD YOU BRING YOUR DOG TO THIS TEAR IN THE FABRIC OF REALITY?
And then, when there's someone who actually is intelligent, it's like the intelligence only increases their capacity for dumbassery
Lex, you're supposed to be a super genius so whY WOULD YOU BUILD A GOD DAMN POCKET DIMENSION?!?!!?!

reading the wiki for the american psycho movie every single thing it’s saying about christian bale has me in tears …….. he literally wanted the role so bad he got that buff in two weeks, rejected every other offer for 9 months while the producers tried to get dicaprio to be patrick bateman bc bale knew dicaprio would chicken out, went to dinner with the director and the guy who wrote the novel IN CHARACTER apparently scaring the shit out of the novelist, took the role for $50k, and then made all his costars think he was a giant freak bc he never fucking broke character, and APARENTLY LITERALLY HAS CONTROL OVER HIS SWEAT GLANDS AND USED THIS IN THE BUSINESS CARD SCENE

"Maybe I'll kill that reporter who does all your interviews. Maybe I'll kill Clark Kent."
This is the most important line in the movie. I'm 100% serious. It tells you everything you need to know about Lex Luthor's character. It shows the audience that, despite being almost omnicognizant from the get-go, Luthor clearly has no fucking idea who Superman is, only what he does.
I've never seen anyone go from All-Knowing Evil to Absolute Fucking Loser so fast. In fifteen words he went from unstoppable criminal powerhouse to flailing manchild moron. He gave his Evil Dictator demonstration and then turned around, dropped his pants and showed his entire ass. He proclaimed his manifesto of unrelenting ego, turned around, slipped on a banana peel and landed on a whoopie cushion.
And he was so mired in his own sense of superiority that he never even knew it.
Lex Luthor, folks. Ten out of ten, no notes.

The thing about Lovecraft's work is that he did write about some genuinely fucked up critters, but he doesn't seem to have had a clear picture of which ones those are. "Dog that inhabits right angles" and "sapient colour" are treated as exactly as mind-bending as, like, "guy who looks like a fish" and "big penguin".

darth nihilus being able to eat planets in legends drives me crazy. we know palpatine and dooku were planning the death star as early as AOTC, and palpatine had to have invested a ludicrous amount of resources into the project even before vader's actually, y'know, darth vader. but i'm imagining those early months where vader is absorbing sith history, sith dark magic, and palpatine is a sith as a path to power but vader was lured in specifically by the promise of learning powers that break natural law, y'know? he's a little evil college student hitting the books for his cult midterms, y'know? he also maybe wants to resurrect a couple important people he might have killed, it's whatever. but he's perusing palpatine's acquired sith library while palpatine gloats over the progress of his death star. very domestic for two despots. but vader's reading about darth nihilus. and then, y'know, he looks at the death star plans. and then he looks back at the ancient tome containing the history of darth nihilus. and after five minutes of mentally wringing his hands, he's like, "master, could we not have.... utilized the force..... to achieve this end?" palpatine spends several minutes monologuing about how the empire needs a symbol of strength and something concrete to fear and also he holds stock in the company the project was contracted to so fuck off and vader's just standing there, looking between the death star (that is not on schedule to be completed for nearly twenty years) and his silly little bedtime story about a sith lord who could eat planets for breakfast, convinced he could teach himself how to eat a planet faster than palpatine can get the death star finished. he is kind of irritated palpatine won't even let him try. so in ANH when vader bellows about the power of the force, this is an actual disagreement he's had with his boss, and vader's been annoyed about this for nearly twenty years now, because fuck you, he could totally eat a planet. don't underestimate his power. FUCK you
