"Hangin' in there, babygirl?"❤️

"Norm, don't you have shit to do?"
"Research, Jake. I'm capturing the Mighty Toruk Makto in his natural form. Which is adorable."
"Uh-huh. Kiss the dark side of my blue -"

Hold up: Payakan.... if he was Navi.
I was trying to stay true to his color palette, because that made him the most recognizable. Metkayina colors didn't look right. So let's pretend he can keep his tulkun colors. His missing fin translated to a missing arm and scars all up the left side.

Thinking about how that one trailer line,
"Alien! That's all they see!" "I see you."
would hit maybe even harder in Na'vi because it imo almost certainly would be something along the lines of
"Ketuwong pak! Längu tsaw ‘u a fol tse’a nì’aw!" "Oel ngati kameie."
which contrasts the literal “see,” tse’a, with the deeper, spiritual “See,” kame - bringing a bonus layer of “I see deeper than they do” to the text that’s present in the subtext of the English but a little less explicitly than it would be in the Na'vi

Yellow with crutches
Sillysadduck has inspired this and now I've absorbed it into my design and will continue to spread the yellow with mobility aids propaganda 😌
I saw this on my feed and I thought it was so cool!!
Not sure if I should at the og but I will just in case @sillysadduck , for the cute idea!

Narlora nekre anarlor!

I find the hairstyles of the Na'vi to be a little uninspired (or rather not diverse), so I designed some more hairstyles inspired by various indigenous African and American peoples (primarily African because I am African American).
Some reference photos I used are below and some cultures I took inspiration from are Wadaabe, Himba, etc.

I included a sheath on the queue for some designs because I figured that since the queue is a very important organ, it would be extra protected in cultural senses, like individuality, and practical senses, like when hunting or playing.
This time I was just trying my hand at drawing any sort of design incorperating long braids and various reference designs from the photos. Next time I'll get more inspiration from Pandoran flora and fauna, and culturally significant items to the Omaticaya, like weaving tools, baskets, and instruments. That'll be a challenge!
