I've been checking out my D60 chart and omg there are so many insights to be had! The D60 is the final stroke of your karma, the closest chart to your soul energy. It's the karma that pulls the strings in your life that you bring from past lives.
So from how I'm kind of starting to piece it together... the D60 is like the director of the movie, and the D1 is the movie itself. The D1 is how these karmas actually materialize into the world.
For example Marilyn Monroe has exalted Venus in her D60. In her D1 rashi chart it's in Aries. But the reason that she so easily attracted partners and had all consuming romances, was possibly from this Venus in Pisces in her D60. Perhaps she was so caught up in the dreamy, spiritual side of romance and love, that the way it actually manifested was through attracting difficult Aries-like partnerships. The ideal love in her heart didn't map out neatly into the real world. She also could have had her otherworldly beauty from this D60 Venus in Pisces.
In my own D60, the deity that rules my ascendant means "divine protection" and is a form of Lord Indra. In my D1, my ascendant is ruled by Indra, the nakshatra Vishaka! So this Indra energy could be something passed onto me through lifetimes.
Another interesting thing from my D60 is that I have Rahu Moon conjunction, which can denote someone who is psychic, but has poor psychic boundaries. It's interesting that in my D1, I have a very prominent 8th house. So perhaps in past lives, I had a lot of psychic intuition, but in this lifetime I am learning to manage it better...

Something I've noticed about Revati nakshatra. Revati is weird. Just plain weird.
Tumblr media
Like, the 1992 adaptation of Dracula was directed by and starred individuals with prominent Revati. The film has this strange, ethereal, but sexual energy. It uses wide angle camera angles and is just downright bizarre most of the time. Dracula is portrayed as a bizarre man who is basically stuck in limbo (12th house themes) and has to vampirize others to sustain himself.
Tumblr media
Evangelion, directed by a Revati moon native... again... really abstract and famously incomprehensible. Especially towards the second half of the show and the film, End of Evangelion. The show is even about characters and their depression, which comes about from not being attached to anything...
Tumblr media
Jared Leto has Revati moon. Lol. I don't think I need to say much about this one. 😂
Tumblr media
King Kobra JFS, aka Josh Saunders, a famous lolcow, has Revati sun. He's always been an outsider for his odd behavior and demeanor. Always is getting into some antics. Doesn't seem to have many, if any, mundane attachments.

The atmakaraka is so important!!! The planet which holds the highest degree in your birth chart is your SOUL, and the reason you incarnated here. Whichever house it falls into, is where a large portion of your life will be centered.
Julia Child had Mars atmakaraka in the 4th house. Mars is a soldier who knows how to take and carry out orders. The 4th house is the house of the domestic home life and cooking. Put the two together, and she was a warrior of cooking, executing recipes.
Not to mention, her Sun, which is also said to be its own atmakaraka, is gandanta. Gandanta points indicate someone with revolutionary ability. She revolutionized the 4th house! With Leo ruling her 4th, she was a performer on a screen. She was the one who started the trend of the cooking show!

Venus in or aspecting the ascendant does not make one conventionally beautiful. Think about it.
Venus is in exaltation in Pisces. Why? Venus is the planet of love, romance, beauty, and harmony. It is not the planet of competitive superficial attractiveness. That may be more Martian, or even Lunar. Pisces is spiritual, creative, and about the inner experience.
Tumblr media
Rihanna has exalted Venus in the first house, and while she is very beautiful, it isn't the kind of beauty that is a "Victoria's Secret" beauty. It's not a beauty that is precise and calculated. She is free flowing and abundantly creative with her appearance.
Tumblr media
Lana del Rey has Venus aspecting the ascendant. While, again, she is very beautiful, it isn't the kind of beauty that would be model-perfect. She is always experimenting with new looks and modes of physical expression.
Venus makes one express themselves for the sake of expression and pleasure. For Venusians, it has nothing to do with following trends or being on top. For a Venusian, they would simply want to live artistically, for its own sake.

More thoughts on Mrigasirsa nakshatra. The Sun, Mercury, and Venus are currently here. And I've had a couple dreams help me understand this energy.
Tumblr media
A deer is sort of like a mythical creature. At least in my own experience, whenever I see one in the woods, it's akin to having a mystical experience. They appear as soon as they disappear, and are hard to pin down. No wonder hunters see catching them as a trophy.
Vic Dicara mentioned this gentle, misty nature of Mrigasirsa. It's not a harsh nakshatra that likes to be defined -- just like a deer doesn't like to be out in the open. If this happens, it could greatly risk being shot and killed.
Tumblr media
Mrigasirsa natives are prophetesses and priestesses -- they are ruled by the moon God, Chandra. They are able to ride the waves of intuition and channel messages, because of their close relationship to the mind's waxing and waning.
Mrigasirsa is not meant to take on everything around it and distill it down into a single idea. Mrigasirsa is the explorer, the one who pops into a situation to give the much needed messages, and goes on to the next thing.
Tumblr media
If Mrigasirsa loses its ability to be in tune with nature, they can easily become stuck in their own mind forest. Trying desperately to grasp onto something, and when they do, it alludes them. I.e., Ben Shapiro (Mrigasirsa moon) desperately trying to debate people for no real reason, and just becoming annoying.
I think this ties into Mrigasirsa's moksha nature, and why it can be so spiritual.

So much Jyestha energy coming up right now. Evil eye, energy protection, things of that nature. I'm wondering if it is because the Sun, Mercury, Venus, and Jupiter are making an aspect onto my Jyestha Mars. 😂

The Arudha lagna is your crafted image that you portray to others. It is different from the lagna, which is how you actually are. Arudha means "illusory".
Tumblr media
Jimi Hendrix's Arudha Lagna was Aquarius. So his image that he wanted to convey was someone who was ahead of his time, a man of the people. It's interesting because Ketu sat in his Arudha, so he also had this sort of detached, spiritual aura about him. Like, he wasn't too interested in the mundane world.
His actual lagna was Sagittarius so he could have been a definite spiritual seeker. His lagna lord goes into the 8th, so there was perhaps a darkness and introversion that others didn't see. His lagna lord is also exalted in the honest sign of Jupiter, so perhaps he didn't feel the need to play a role for people.
Tumblr media
David Bowie's Arudha Lagna was Libra. So he was seen as someone who was always put together, knew how to rub elbows, and collaborated well with others. Libra makes someone quite pleasing, so even though he did crazy stunts and looked extreme at times, his Libra Arudha made people think well of him regardless.
His actual lagna was Capricorn. He also had Saturn conjunct Moon. So he himself, despite coming off as good natured, fashionable, and colorful, may have been very work oriented, stern, and serious. Perhaps even falling into bouts of depression. Saturn can make someone quite sloppy, too, at least early in life.
But, he knew to play into the Libra vibrations -- he made people think he was balanced and clean.
Tumblr media
Despite Marilyn Monroe's actual lagna being quiet and reserved Cancer, her Arudha is Venus in Aries. So she was seen as quite sexual, beautiful, full of energy, and maybe even a bit arrogant. With the Arudha being Aries, a large emphasis is placed on her body. She knew how to use her Arudha.
So, the Arudha Lagna is the image that others see you as. Regardless of who you actually are, this is how the public will view you. A good celebrity knows how to use their Arudha and take advantage of its illusions, even if their actual persona is very different.

Another thing i am learning with astrology is confluence. You don't need to overcomplicate it with generational planets and asteroids.
I have found that the conclusions you would come to with the generational planets and asteroids, you already would have come to with basic traditional techniques.
A lot of modern astrology to me is unfocused, vague, and convoluted. Call me old fashioned, but imo the sages knew what they were doing, and the stars have been here as long as we have. Nothing new under the sun...

In coming to my own understanding of how nakshatras work. I have come to new realizations.
The planetary dasha lords and rashis are separate from the nakshatras.
It doesn't make logical sense. For example, Jyestha is not the way it is because of Scorpio. That specific part of Scorpio acts the way it does because of Jyestha. The stereotypes of Scorpio being jealous, insecure, and mystical, come from Jyestha. However Scorpio in Jyestha acts very differently from say, Scorpio in Anuradha.
In terms of planetary rulership, it's just illogical. Purva Bhadrapada is not the way it is because of Jupiter. If that were the case, Punarvasu would be more like Purva Bhadrapada. But this isn't the case. The only Jupiter influence would come from the dasha period.
The lunar mansions precede the signs and planets. The lunar mansions are the fixed star backdrop to the planets and signs. The nakshatras have deities and symbols that live in the constellations, which color the planets and signs. The planet that the nakshatra falls in does not color the nakshatra, although it may change what expression that nakshatra may have.
Blue is blue. You can wear a scarf that is blue, but the scarf is not inherent to the blue. The blue may look different in the sunlight versus in the shade, but it is still blue.

More doe-eyed Mrigasirsa. I also notice Mrigasirsa has a seductive snake-like quality. But they are always youthful and playful to some degree.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
On the lagna especially the women tend to have wild, long hair. They can actually look quite unkempt. Which may have something to do with Mrigasirsa's non committal, untamed nature.

Jyestha is Rohini's counterpart, in mid sidereal Scorpio. While Rohini is the moon's favorite wife, Jyestha is his least favorite.
It is said that one of its deities, Alakshmi, the goddess of misfortune, cursed Rohini, for she was jealous of her beauty and natural ease of life.
Tumblr media
The moon is debilitated in Jyestha. It is dry and harsh. Jyestha people themselves may struggle with their own jealousy, but people may also be jealous of them.
The actual presiding deity of this Nakshatra is the powerful king of the gods, Indra. Jyestha natives have a commanding presence that often attracts negative energies towards them.
Tumblr media
Nicki Minaj, Jyestha sun.
Jyestha natives learn from a young age that they must work and strive for their own success. The nurturing of their upbringing is not granted to them, so they must learn to fend for themselves, in the dark caverns of the 8th house.
Its symbol is an umbrella. To me, this signifies psychic self defense. Which, when you are a king in the perilous world, and making a name for yourself, you need protection. So they can tend to be into psychological self development, the occult, energy work, etc.
Stephen Hillenberg, who made the original Spongebob series, had Jyestha moon. Spongebob is a happy go lucky, cheerful individual. He naturally attracts things into his life because of his confidence. However, he also attracts jealousy, greed, and hatred from others. The whole show's main theme is pretty much centered around the theme of jealousy and work ethic.
Tumblr media
They can be targets for abuse and scapegoating. People feel threatened by their auras and try to suppress them. They are also quite introspective people, and many do not understand their depth, only perceiving them as self centered.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Britney Spears, Jyestha sun. Worked since a child as an actress and singer. Mocked by the public for a very long time and was under a conservatorship.
Kesha, Jyestha ascendant. Abused by her producer and went through a big legal battle. She also has a podcast where she talks about the occult and paranormal.
Damien Echols, Jyestha sun. Was put on death row for 18 years and framed for murder. Learned the art of ceremonial magick and energy work while in prison, and now practices martial arts and self development.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And a couple more Jyestha natives, Paris Hilton and Patti Smith.
Paris Hilton, Jyestha sun, played up the "bimbo" aesthetic and was mocked relentlessly, despite being very intelligent and a self made business woman.
Patti Smith, Jyestha ascendant, worked from a very young age and suffered much "8th house"-esque hardship. Including homelessness, and losing loved ones. One lyric of hers from Piss Factory, "I had to earn my dough, had to earn my dough".

The moon is in Shatabhisha today and I had an insight into this lunar mansion.
Shatabhisha is the closed circle, which can also have manifestations in symbols like the ourobouros.
Tumblr media
It also reminds me of the Change card in the Thoth deck.
Tumblr media
I've been ruminating over a pattern that has been sort of plaguing me for a while. This issue I've had has felt like a snake eating its own tail, a closed circle, something I can't break. It reminds me also of how a lot of Shatabhisha natives struggle with substance and addiction issues. It is that circle that keeps you trapped in the wheel of karma. You sort of make changes to your life, try to put band aids on your wounds, but they ultimately still run your life.
It reminds me so much of Vertigo by Alfred Hitchcock, a Shatabhisha native himself.
Tumblr media
The film is about obsessive patterns that the main character can't break, that tie him down, and hold him back. The movie itself has a cyclical nature.
I think this is how Shatabhisha natives become such good artists and healers. They have the consciousness to deeply understand their own issues, and the underlying energies of reality. The question then becomes, how does one break these cycles?

Sun in the 8th house causes someone to become very energetically perceptive. This is where the hardship comes from as well as the immense power, later in life. The sun lighting up the dark caverns of the 8th house acts like a plumber putting a flashlight on a backed up drain. Uncomfortable truths surface, but they must be rooted out in order to function. Ignoring your 8th house is like letting your sink become plugged and not fixing the issue.
It rules secrecy, because the 8th house is the 12th from the 9th -- it is the loss of things taught to you by your teachers and your father. It deals with things that you simply cannot put into words, and thus are beyond your control. The sun is in an odd place here, because he doesn't shine where anyone can see him. Unless they themselves journey to that dark cavern. This can make an 8th house sun person seem like an independent loner.
But an 8th house sun person reaches a depth of experience that others cannot see. It may seem like they are not doing much on the outside, but deep down inside, they are intensely feeling every emotion. The good, bad, the ugly, and a lot of times, energies that are not even their own. This also makes them great therapists.
The 8th house is also a moksha house. Meaning that when the sun falls here, part of the person's soul desire is to attain freedom and liberation. This can be strengthened depending on the aim of its nakshatra. This factor can add to the self-sufficient nature of sun in the 8th house. And this can also make them scapegoats to others who sense this energy that is almost like an unpredictable wild animal, and wish to control them.

Ok some more interesting Purva Bhadrapada manifestations in pop culture.
Tumblr media
Serge Gainsbourg, Purva Bhadrapada ascendant. Famously started his music career by sneaking sexual innuendos onto songs of his that got radio play. Had taboo relationships like his famous romance with Jane Birkin, who was underage at the time. He then wrote Histoire de Melody Nelson which featured a topless photo of her as the cover, and was a grody, dirty album about an old man's romance with a 15 year old. He also had a strange incestuous relationship with his daughter, Charlotte. The use of persuasive language and fully embracing taboo is very Purva Bhadrapada. He reaped very bad karma for his actions at the end of his life, dying divorced, penniless, and an addict. I have seen that the nakshatra punishes its natives very badly when they accumulate bad karma. It is an ugra, or fierce, nakshatra.
I've also noticed music made by Purva Bhadrapada natives is very language heavy.
He also had sun in Revati which can also denote "forbidden" sexuality.
Tumblr media
Jonathan Van Ness, moon in Purva Bhadrapada. Imo he perfectly encapsulates the "two-faced man" extremity that this nakshatra can take on, especially when it is the moon sign.
He's the hairstylist on Queer Eye. On screen, he is bubby, generous, and supportive (to an extreme and bordering on uncomfortable degree). Recently things came out about how behind the scenes, he was terrible to work with. Very abusive to everyone involved with the show. Again... the two faced man, and playing out the savage ugra quality of this nakshatra.
I also notice he is the most overly progressive and odd person on the Queer Eye cast. Which reminds me of Purva Bhadrapada's extreme boundless quality, totally embracing of everything, even taboos and impurities. And this quality is also reminiscent of its deity, Aja Ekapada, who himself is a very strange entity.
I notice Purva Bhadrapada natives are so extremely open minded and generous that they suppress their anger, and it comes out in extremely inappropriate ways. Hence, the ugra quality.
Tumblr media
Jon Taffer, Purva Bhadrapada moon. He's the Bar Rescue guy, lol. But man does he really perfectly display PB energies.
First off, he himself kind of displays this "mobster" quality (I've seen many people link Purva Bhadrapada energies to the Mafia and general gang behavior).
He also helps out bars that are dirty and nasty, and on the fringes of society. (I've worked in the restaurant business and have noticed that lots of PB people tend to work those jobs. Restaurant work gives you a lot more freedom than most other jobs which I think is appealing to PB natives.) He also really displays the savage, over the top PB nature. He has a very fiery anger that he lets everyone know about... lol. And isn't afraid to tell people the most naked truth, in a very ferocious manner.

Rohini is the moon's exaltation point, in mid Taurus. Its symbol is a cart that carries goods, and its deity is Brahma, the creator god.
Tumblr media
Another one of its symbols is a beautiful scarlet woman dancing.
I have found that just because the moon is exalted, does not mean it is a perfect placement at all. I have actually found, with exalted planets, that means the planet gets to roam free with no boundaries.
With Rohini being extreme lunar energy, its natives can become delusional and ungrounded quite easily. They like to stay comfortable and easily can rally others to support them.
Tumblr media
E.g., GG Allin, Rohini moon.
The moon signifies one's popularity, and when it comes into exaltation, they can easily amass a following. People often accuse Rohini natives of having things handed to them because of their beauty and magnetic quality.
Tumblr media
With the moon being the mind, Rohini natives can often do crazy public stunts because their minds are so fertile with creativity. They like to accumulate attention and other peoples' energy, often provoking them. They don't have to labor and toil as much as say, someone with a debilitated Jyestha moon. So they get bored, and want to stir up controversy.
Tumblr media
E.g., Sexy Vegan, Rohini moon. Has a wealthy mother who excessively provides for him materially. Literally changed his name to Sexy Vegan, got face tattoos, and has been arrested constantly for inappropriate public stunts he constantly pulls.
Because the deity is Brahma the creator, they themselves love to create and play with aesthetics. Rohini was also the moon's favorite wife, so you can see them act and dress quite colorfully and strangely, to set themselves apart from others.
