been a while, and that’s Skeptic’s fault (mf gave me so much trouble with his civilian design), but yeah. here’s some more designs for my Echomirror/Magical Girl AU

AU rambles under the cut

- wanted Smitten’s transformed look to be like a cross between Cupid and Robin Hood.

- Echo purposefully wanted to avoid giving Smitten’s reincarnation any magical powers as he’d knew that’d just be disaster, but unfortunately for him, no one can keep Smitty from his magical girl destiny. He just stumbled into a princess sphere and got his powers from the Princess there after helping her with her troubles, which then caused the sphere to disperse without killing anyone (gee, golly, I sure do wonder who that princess might be). He was horrified when he found out the others magical users are tasked with slaying these princesses instead of helping them, even more so when he found that the one giving out those tasks is a voice in a mirror (don’t they know disembodied voices coming from unsentient objects are often a source of evil???). So he’s something of a ‘rogue’ magical girl, as he refuses to slay the princesses and tries to stop others from doing so.

- Because of the way he got his powers, he doesn’t need Echo’s mirror or even a transformation phrase to transform, he can just do it at will.

- He was horrifie

- In his normal life, he’s a modestly successful romance author. Not a bestseller, but people who know his work are always happy to see his name in a book. Unsure about his names in this AU. Thinking of Arrowrose for his transformed name, and maybe something with ‘Eadán’ (can mean both jealousy and passion in irish) for his normal name.

- Skeptic’s reincarnation is also someone Echo tried to avoid giving powers, but he ended up coming across an echomirror anyway and Echo thought ‘OK, fine. He isn’t as bad as the smitten one, so might as well give this guy a shot–’ (he profusely regrets that decision).

- While not as adamant about his ‘no killing’ policy like Smitten, Skeptic also doesn’t have slaying the princesses as his top priority. He wants to study, so that he can better understand these reality-warping spheres and maybe keep them from happening. Often ends up teaming up with Arrowrose to do that, who’s just glad to see someone isn’t jumping the gun on killing these princesses.

- Not sure about his magical girl name, but his civilian name is Sasha Jah, something of an amateur researcher (his main interests are history, biology, and archaeology) who works in an office job just so he can afford his hobbies.

Re!Razor: You know it's really cute that you're gonna defeat me with the power of self-acceptance but then again I am the "Princess" with razor sharp blades coming out her joints so I don't believe -

*Cuts to Hero making a sad, pathetic face, Contra giving The Look (Cold's Idea), and Cheated pinching the bridge of his nose.

So what are your plans so far with the Re!Greys? I think you mentioned certain details about their concept before, but I can't find them anymore 😅

Okay, okay- I'll try my best to explain them (already kind of had the Prisoner figure out but that's a chapter for another day)

Part 1;

Both Greys will feature a beautiful meadow and the so called "basement" is more a down stairs to an open garden by the cliff side... You know where this is going with;

The Fallen Grey

It was morning when you're on a path in the meadow. Cold taunting Smitten as you continue on, searching for the beloved you've killed. The interior cabin looked like well decorated with empty champagne bottles on a coffee table with letters scattered around, with all the flowers and drapes. Her ghost, a bride, for a minute stood in front of the mirror.

The garden is a wedding. An empty wedding. At the altar is podium... And rings on it. You hear her voice and found her at the distance. Your bride. Beautiful but lifeless with the blade on her chest. As she slowly walks down the aisle, a breeze disturbed the peace. It picked up as it went from flowing curtains to toppling chairs. Soon, you feel yourself pulled by the wind until you are clinging for dear life onto a pole that is supposed to be the arch over the two lovers. The storm gets worse as the sky turns grey.

She reaches you, her hand in yours and unfazed with love and sorrow in her eyes. You begged her to not let go of you and she asked you to let go of the pole. Of everything. You cannot be together in a world that hates you. But you can be together in another life.

Death won't do you apart no longer.

You lose your grip on the pole but the Princess didn't hers on your hand and the wind blow you away off the cliff. You both fall to your death, with everything floating around you, until the hands takes her way and you are once again back here.

The Contrarian wished you never let go. He hated the fall.

The Cold felt the velocity and the rushing wind he never felt before and hates every second of it.

The Smitten finally felt something he longs for after all this time... Joy.

Thinking about potential Damsel angst with both her and Smitten being secretly upset regarding the events of chapter 1 but hiding that to give Quiet the happy ending he deserves

Let's get a rarepair out there: Stubborn/Opportunist. How do you envision their ship?

one is much easier to convince than the other, i'll tell you that for free. i think stubborn would get annoyed at opportunist for always having some devious alternate scheme. i think oppy would like stubborn for not always having some devious alternate scheme.

i'm not very far into Slay the Princess but i think The Narrative is my girlfriend?

After watching the compilation of the new lines from the Leave The Cabin ending---specifically, the ones that get triggered when you apologize to her for hurting her and she responds with "hey, when we first met, I *insert what she did in your very first playthrough,* so we're even"---I decided that it should only be fair to do something similar to that for Slay the Professor...

But it's a little different, of course, because he thinks he deserves your anger. So, when you apologize, it goes a little something like this:

The Wizard: "When we first met, you showed me mercy, and I responded by taking a knife to your chest a thousand times. Now that you know what I did to you, why would you give me that same kindness?"

The Warlock: "You did betray me when we first met, but knowing what you know now, I think we can both agree that I deserved it. Don't waste your time with apologies."

The Creature: "You didn't hesitate to kill me the first time we met, and that was before you knew anything about me. Now that you know what I did to you, why should this time be any different?"

The Scientist: "The first time we met, you were so afraid of me that you didn't even attempt to end me, and I proved you right a thousandfold. Don't waste your time with apologies."

The Academic: "The first time we met, I broke you into pieces with my bare hands out of sheer, stubborn hubris. Now that you know what I did to you, shouldn't you do the same to me?"

The Archivist: "The first time we met, I slit your throat without a second thought. Don't waste your time with apologies."

The Doctor: "The first time we met, we beat each other to death, and I enjoyed it. Now that you know what I did to you, I'm surprised you're not trying to start our fight anew."

The Dragon: "The first time we met, I devoured you. I literally devoured you. That's worse than anything you ever did to me, so don't waste your time with apologies."

The Inventor: "The first time we met, I shot you through the heart, and all you had to defend yourself was a knife. Don't waste your time with apologies."

The Substitute: "You never even gave me a chance the first time. You were so worried about what I could be that your thoughts turned me into every possibility, every outcome all at once. Now that you know what I did to you, why even bother extending a hand?"

thinkin’ about the Princess in Warped AU.

since the main thing about (my version, at least) of this AU is a Construct Reset Gone Wrong, the Princess is a bit more aware of her connection to Quiet, and has some lingering resentment/hurt from the fact she was killed in another lifetime. For the different default princesses, I decided to base them on the Emo and Monster aspects we see in the Stranger route instead of Saft and Harsh. The different dress is more a way to differentiate her from the canon princess, tho I tried to base it in how Quiet might remember the princess’ appearance since he was the one who brought her back.
