i really like this specific kind of tumblr post when someone posts a picture of something like a small animal doing a stupid thing and then everyone loves the stupid thing. and then someone is like "i think this is actually Bad."

then my favorite part happens, someone jumps in and is all like "hi hello! this is actually a very exciting post for me because i am an expert on stupid things AND animals!" and then they put their eight months of petsmart experience to good hard work and say just the dumbest most obvious stuff you ever did hear. i love that.

sometimes i think about how when i was a kid and aave was just called ebonics and it was suggested that it be adapted into schools in areas where kids were growing up speaking it and it was first being considered as an area of linguistic research and i dunno lol

i just remember how angry everyone* was over it lol. and now it's kind of rad that it's finally getting somewhere where it's being recognized as an actual vernacular and really a MORE SOPHISTICATED and efficacious way of speaking english

*most people who were angry were white, of course. there were others not happy about it but not my place to speak on that tbh

i homeschool my kids and sometimes i think "oh it might be fun to connect with other groups that homeschool" so i will make the mistake of looking up groups on fb or reddit and it's always the worst mistake. it's just either full of influencer tradwives who micromanage their kids' education for content, manic dumpster fires who are having to wrestle their turdy kids who hate homeschooling to get them to do anything, or negligent unschooling hippies who think it's totally fine that mackkenzeigh is 9 and can't read. there's no in-between.
