Blanket Fort
The Princess sniffled. Bear could feel her tears soaking his fur. She sniffled again and wiped her eyes. Bear loved the Princess, and he didn't like when she had to be punished. "I was a bad girl, Bear." the Princess sat up and wiped her eyes again. She gave Bear a squeeze.
"Princess?" Daddy called for her, "come out here."
"I hope it's not more trouble, Bear." The Princess picked him up and slowly walked out...
To see the prettiest blanket fort ever. Blankets were hanging in a circle around a pile of them on the floor, and a string of lights circled the inside. The only other light she could see was a lamp inside the fort. She hugged Bear, "it's so pretty, Bear!" She pulled a blanket to the side and went in. There was a stack of coloring books, some drawing paper, her iPad, and Daddy holding a big box of crayons.
He patted the spot beside him, "come sit, babygirl."
Bear looked up to see the biggest smile on the Princess. She quickly sat down and sat Bear beside her. Daddy set a coloring book in front of her and put the crayons between them.
"Daddy, when did you get new crayons?" She chose one and started coloring.
Daddy chose a crayon and started on the other page. "When I saw how old the others were getting, and I thought you could use more colors too."
The princess squealed, "thank you so much, daddy!"
While the princess colored, daddy picked up the tablet and started Beauty and the Beast for her.
"Ohmigod, Daddy!" Princess saw the movie playing, "this is perfect!"
Daddy put his arms around her shoulders and have her a squeeze, "you're a good girl. You deserve this."
"But I'm in trouble, Daddy." Princess set the coloring book aside, closer to daddy, and took a sheet of paper to start drawing.
"Not anymore." Daddy kissed her forehead and resumed his coloring. "Your punishment is all done. And even when you're in trouble, you're still my precious princess."
"Aww, Daddy!" Princess started on her picture.
The movie played, and they sat quietly and drew pictures for a bit. Bear watched, feeling so happy for the princess.
When she finished her drawing, she held it up, "look, daddy. I drew this just for you." A man and a girl standing under a rainbow with the words, "daddy and his princess" in it.
"That is so pretty, babygirl." Daddy took the picture, "I'm going to put it in my bedroom."
"Really?" Princess had a huge smile. Bear couldn't be more proud.
"Definitely, sweetie." He set it on his lap.
"Daddy, you're the sweetest!" An alarm beeped on her phone. "Oh no. Daddy?"
"Time to get ready for sleeps, princess." Daddy started to get up.
"But we're having so much fun!" Princess reluctantly stood up and picked up Bear.
"Plenty of time for more fun tomorrow, sweetie." Daddy took her hand and led her to the bathroom. "Take your meds and brush your teeth, sweetie."
The princess sighed and set Bear on the counter, "okay, daddy." She started brushing her teeth while Daddy got her PJs for her.
After Princess took her pills, she got out of her clothes and dropped them in the clothes basket. Daddy was sitting on the edge of her bed. "Come here, babygirl." Daddy took Bear and set him on the bed, then helped her get her PJs on, first the pants, then the shirt. He handed Bear back to her and pulled back the covers, "Time to lay down."
Princess got under the covers. "Daddy?"
Daddy leaned down and kissed her forehead, "yes, sweetie?"
"Can I have butt rubs? I'm still sore." The princess rolled over on her belly.
Daddy smiled and started rubbing, "better, sweetie?"
"Much better, daddy." She hugged Bear, making him feel all warm and cozy. Bear watched as daddy's butt rubs relaxed her. After a while, she rolled over onto her back. "Thank you, daddy. I can sleep now."
Daddy pulled the covers up over her and gave her a soft kiss on her lips, "daddy loves his princess."
The princess kissed Daddy and hugged Bear tight, "Princess loves her daddy."
Daddy turned on the night light and brushed some hair out of her face, "sweet dreams, babygirl." Daddy turned off her bedroom light. She blew him one last kiss before he closed the door.

Dream Protector
One night, while the Princess was sleeping, Bear sat beside her, keeping watch. Daddy was very clear, "You keep the nightmares away from our little girl, Bear." So that's what he was going to do.
The Princess had a good day and was sleeping peacefully, so tonight she had some pleasant dreams. Bear liked getting caught up in her good dreams. This one was nice. She was playing with him in a large field of flowers. The dream was especially nice for Bear because he got to be a real puppy. She picked up a ball and threw it. Bear ran through the flowers, smiling the whole way. He picked up the ball and ran back. When he got to her to drop the ball for another throw, the Princess was scooting fast away from a bunch of spiders. Bear, being the good little doggie that he was, remembered what Daddy told him and ran to protect her. He got between the Princess and the spiders and growled his fiercest growl, baring his teeth at all the spiders. Those spiders knew better than to try anything with Bear, and they all ran away. Bear turned to check on the princess, when he saw her crying, he ran over and laid his head on her lap. The Princess smiled through her tears and softly scratched behind his ear, just the way Bear liked. He laid there, cuddling the princess like a good doggie, until he heard a weird noise. He lifted his head from her lap and perked up his ears, then looked up at the princess. She patted his head and softly kissed his nose, "you're such a good dog, Bear." Then, in a flash, he was his old self again. He could still hear the sound, the alarm waking the princess from her sleep. He saw daddy come into the room and kiss his babygirl on her forehead. And Bear, knowing he did a good job protecting the Princess, let Daddy have his turn taking care of their good girl. The Princess gave Bear a kiss on his head, "thank you for protecting me, Bear. You're a good boy." Then she got up and went with Daddy to eat breakfast and get dressed.
