These are my Chuang Yi editions of Pokémon Gold & Silver: The Golden Boys, oftenly abbreviated to Pokémon Golden Boys. This is probably my all-time favourite Pokémon manga and the rarest piece of my English Pokémon manga collection. It's a really good adaption of the Pokémon Gold and Silver games. However, Pokémon Golden Boys is infamous for getting a rushed ending in Cianwood City. Silver is named Black in this manga, but it's not an error on Chuang Yi's side, he is named Black in the original Japanese edition as well.
It's pretty much impossible to get the Chuang Yi edition these days, since it has been out of print for years. I highly recommend that you try this manga if you get the chance to read it. There are scans and scanlations of some chapters that are easily findable by Googling. Pokémon Golden Boys has a rating of 7.49 on MyAnimeList right now (Pokémon Special has a rating of 8.32 there at the moment as comparison).
Pokémon Golden Boys used to be one of the more dicussed Pokémon manga series on the manga sections of popular Pokémon forums back in the day. Today it is pretty much forgotten by the majority of the fanbase, (which happens with most Pokémon manga series that aren't published by VIZ and in print).
VIZ, please publish this! More people need to read it, there's never any discussion around this manga nowadays.

Here is my copy of Pokémon Zensho. I imported it from Japan a while ago. Pokémon Zensho is commonly known to be the Pokémon manga that is the closest adaptation of any Pokémon game. It summarizes Pokémon Red and Green in just one volume (10 chapters, to be specific). The main characters are named Satoshi (Ash) and Shigeru (Gary). There are two possible explanations for this. Either it is bacause the second name in the default player and rival name lists in Red and Green are Ash and Gary, or it is because of the anime's huge popularity at the time. I think the first explanation makes more sense since it's supposed to follow the games closely.

Look what I got from Japan yesterday. It's Pokémon the Comic, which is chock-full of Pokémon manga. The pages are in this magazine are quite fragile and feel like they tear easily.
This magazine contains The Mt. Silver Training chapter (aka the Red flashback chapter / the Red anniversary chapter), 64 pages of Pokémon BW: Good Partners and some other Pokémon Special chapters.
The story about The Mt. Silver Training chapter is that in 2011 Netkun had a popularity poll between all the dex holders. The winner would get a special chapter dedicated to them. Big surprise: Red won.

For my first post I thought that I would start with the most well-known and internationally popular Pokémon manga, Pokémon Adventures.
In the first picture are my Pokémon Adventures VIZ 2nd edition volumes. I have ordered volume 17, but I haven't gotten it yet.
Since I hate censorship I also got the Chuang Yi editions, shown in the second picture, of volumes that VIZ has censored parts of. I have also ordered the Chuang Yi edition of volume 17, but I haven’t got it yet either.
Here are scenes that have been censored by VIZ:
Volume 3, chapter 32
Volume 11, chapter 133
Volume 15 (CY) / 14 (VIZ), chapter 180: CY (uncensored) | VIZ (censored)
Volume 17, chapter 209: CY (uncensored) | VIZ (censored)
In the third picture you can see my The Best of Pokémon Adventures volumes. VIZ basically chose a bunch of random chapters from the flipped VIZ 1st editions of the Red, Green, Blue and Yellow arcs and put them into two volumes. Some people think that these volumes are a nice summary. I think that the volumes are pretty worthless. The only Gym battle featured in these volumes is Red’s battle against Brock, for example. When I got this when I was younger and didn’t know anything about Pokémon manga I was pretty confused and thought that the whole thing seemed rushed, but I still really liked the chapters, even if there were enormous gaps between them. The success of these volumes led to that VIZ decided to start publishing the 2nd editions.
