so the answer to this was somehow less than my other iBook G3, until you lifted the keyboard to get to the RAM, then you got a whiff of biohazard

We've been working on this for the past 2 years...

This weekend at Vintage Computer Festival East @ms-dos5 and I will be celebrating the 30th birthday of Windows 95 with the biggest, most elaborate exhibit either of us have ever done.

18 feet of table space featuring 9 computers running various versions of Windows 95 on a mix of laptops and desktops, with awhat slew of productivity software, games, and goodies to explore.

VCF East is April 4th-6th, at the InfoAge Science Center in Wall, NJ. Exhibits will be open on Saturday and Sunday.

it's 2025 and I just bought an honest to goodness brand new beanie baby (none of that new shit, classic 90s look)

I do not care if it's funny, or it got something "hilariously wrong". Or maybe it got it right -- I genuinely do not care how it came out. I don't want to fucking see it. Text response? Image? Code? Whatever the output, I don't want anything to do with it.

Consider it the same as if you took a dump. I don't want to see it before you flush. It's just as much of a waste of both of our times for you to try to convince me, as it is for me to have to say no every time.

If you're finding that this is you: just get some Windows XP or Windows 7 era shitbox machine and poke around it. Try to install Linux on something. You'll probably fail but it'll teach you a lot about the underpinnings of computers. And most important: if you don't know how something works, or if you're curious, or if you're confused, look it up. Figure out how to formulate a good search engine query and wade through the crap in the results. (Skip any AI generated result entirely: the sources will be further down in the results and it's better to get things from the source).

Just... experiment. Poke around. And, most importantly, remember it's not your fault that you don't know things. The industry is actively hostile to users.
