We were done so dirty by the show runners that many fans now have developed serious trust issues. We demand to be made whole!
i’m sorry if this has been answered/posted before but what is the material aim of this blog? is it to have the testaments cancelled after season 1? have the series shut down altogether before it’s released? an apology/statement of some kind from an official hulu channel? this seems like a very organised effort and i’m curious to know what your benchmark for progress is if the movement is being discussed as a serious campaign.
📣 What Is the Goal of This Blog?
Thank you for asking this respectfully. It’s a valid question and one we’re happy to clarify.
This blog is part of a serious and organized campaign rooted in truth, accountability, and narrative integrity. We’re not casual fans. Many of us have been with The Handmaid’s Tale for nearly a decade, we’ve rewatched the series, studied the scripts, and read the source material. We invested emotionally and intellectually. And we’ve been met with betrayal.
Let’s be clear:
This is not about shipping. It’s about a fundamental violation of narrative trust, the gaslighting of viewers, and the erasure of one of the show’s most quietly revolutionary characters, Nick Blaine.
🎯 Our Goals Are As Follows:
1. A public acknowledgment from Bruce Miller, Elisabeth Moss, or Hulu that the show strayed from Margaret Atwood’s intended narrative, particularly the deliberate dismantling of Nick’s arc.
2. An apology to the fandom for the misleading PR, narrative contradictions, and character assassinations (especially in Season 6).
3. A clear course correction in The Testaments. We’re not trying to cancel the sequel, we’re asking that it honor canon. Nick Blaine was always a resistor, a Mayday operative. That must be reflected.
4. Amplify support for Max Minghella, whose nuanced portrayal was dismissed and overwritten in favor of sensationalism.
5. Restore the story’s original themes — love as resistance, survival over martyrdom, rebellion over compliance.
🚫 What We’re Not Doing:
We do not support harassment, doxing, or efforts to get anyone fired. This is a peaceful, strategic campaign. Our criticism is directed at creative choices, not personal attacks.
📈 Progress So Far:
• The hashtag #BoycottTheTestaments is gaining traction.
• Elisabeth Moss has turned off tagging on Instagram.
• Writers and staff have blocked fans engaging with this campaign.
These responses speak volumes. It means they’ve noticed.
💬 Who Is Welcome Here?
Anyone who feels betrayed by the show’s final seasons.
You don’t have to ship Nick/June. You just need to believe in accountability, respect the text, and support the integrity of this campaign.
This campaign was born from love, and refusal to be manipulated.
They thought they could rewrite the past and we’d go along. They miscalculated.
We are not disposable.
We remember.
And we will not be gaslit.
Thanks again for the ask.

Why they shouldn't have used the word N*zi in The Handmaid's Tale
I've been quite disturbed for a few weeks about the overusage of that word in the series. It was used once in S5 to described Lawrence (said by Luke), but it seems to have been overused for Nick Blaine this season. But using the word N*zi to describe a character like Nick Blaine is highly loaded, and for a lot of us European audiences, it is actually problematic and offensive.
And here’s why it’s an issue :
- The word N*zi carries immense historical weight
Nazism isn’t just a generic label for someone complicit in a regime, it refers to a very specific, horrifying ideology and genocide. Using the term outside of that exact historical context, especially for shock value or metaphor, is actually deeply insensitive. But who cares I guess, right ?
- Nick Blaine is a morally grey character, not a N*zi
Nick is a complex figure who has helped June, saved lives, and resisted from within Gilead. It's not because the showrunners decided to do a 180 turn in the 11th hour that it is ok to use that word on him. Labeling him a N*zi oversimplifies his role and falsely equates Gilead's fictional authoritarianism with the Holocaust.
- Us, European audiences, are more sensitive to historical accuracy (sorry about that but we care...)
In places like Germany, Poland, France, the Netherlands, and Eastern Europe, comparisons to Nazism are not something we take lightly. In fact, in case you didn't know, many countries have strict laws about misusing Nazi comparisons because of the need to preserve historical truth and memory. And that should be respected everywhere, especially by American showrunners and writers. The viewers of this show are all over the world.
- There's a difference between complicit and N*zi
It’s one thing to critique Nick as someone complicit in a regime, a morally uncomfortable position. But calling him a N*zi erases nuance and inflames rather than informs. There are more accurate and respectful ways to critique his character without resorting to such a charged word.
Using N*zi to describe Nick Blaine, or anyone in The Handmaid’s Tale, is misguided, inflammatory, and offensive. It undermines the very real horrors of Nazi history and shows a lack of sensitivity to how language can distort memory and meaning.
And let's also mention that it is not appropriate to call any characters in The Handmaid’s Tale N*zis, including Lawrence, Serena, Fred, Putnam or anyone in Gilead. The term is historically specific and deeply tied to the Holocaust. Using it loosely to describe fictional villains or authoritarian figures, even in dystopian contexts like Gilead, diminishes the real horror of Nazism and is disrespectful to its victims.
The showrunners should have done better. They could have use fascist, war criminal, oppressor but no, they chose N*zi, and this is not ok. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

"He reaped what he sowed. He lived a violent & dishonest life"
" He’s so deep underground he needs a breathing tube.” - Margaret Atwood
Each and every one of those scenes represent a moment where Nick fought against Gilead, in his own way. By becoming an eye after the suicide of the Handmaid at the Waterford's. By denouncing the actions of commander Guthrie. By working underground with Mayday, supplying the women trapped in Jezebel's. He got the letters out of Gilead, giving credit to Luke. He killed Putnam. Pointed a gun on Fred's head to allow June and Holly / Nichole to escape. Helped Serena against Cushing. Delivered Fred to June. Organised with Mayday the first attempt of June's escape. Collected informations about Hannah for June. Punched Lawrence in the face in front of every other commanders. Made a deal with Tuello to keep June and his daughter safe. Killed two guardians to save Luke and Moira. And so much more...
So, would a true believer, a nazi, a villain have done any of it? Nick was smart, smarter than most. He knew that in order to survive, he had to keep a low profile. He fought in the shadows. But fought nevertheless. He just didn't expect to be betrayed by the woman he loved, the woman he tried so hard to save for so many years... She had a choice. And she made it.

Reblogging for the shippers and haters..NNN-Nicks’ No Nazi
I’m sure I’ve already said this, but I just can’t not say it again.
I keep seeing this take: “Yes, Nick loved June, but he was a villain (because he was a Commander in Gilead, and all Commanders are Nazis).”
the writers shoved this idea down our throats using Luke as their insightful narrator (lol)
“All he cared about was you, and that’s why you think he’s some kind of hero?”
And some people ate it up. I keep seeing posts with that exact message:
“He loved June, but he was evil.”
And I NEED to unpack this because WHAT A LOAD OF BULLSHIT.
If someone is chasing power, if they enjoy control, being above others like Nazis do, if they lack empathy then they are literally incapable of selfless, sacrificial love. Like Nick loved June.
Evil doesn’t love like that. Evil tries to own and control.
Especially when we’re talking about a system where every Commander has patriarchal garbage in their heads, how could Nick give June so much freedom? So much choice? So much emotional support even when he himself was hurting? He’s not “like them” not even close. If he were truly a “Nazi,” his ego would’ve snapped in half multiple times in this story.
If a man is a Nazi meaning he believes in oppression, hierarchy, control, and dominance, then he is incapable of truly loving. Because real love isn’t about power, or control, or domination. Real love is about seeing the other person, accepting them, giving them freedom of choice, even when that choice isn’t you.
Nazi “love” isn’t love. It’s possession. It’s the need to keep someone beneath you. Men like that only “love” when their partner submits. The moment a woman shows independence, says no, or leaves they turn on her. She becomes the enemy.
But Nick didn’t just tolerate June’s freedom, he supported it. He encouraged it. He didn’t use their child to manipulate her, didn’t threaten her, didn’t stalk her. He didn’t retaliate when she rejected him. He endured the pain, stayed silent, waited without asking for anything in return.
(On top of that, Nick was repeatedly shown being empathetic towards others but let’s not even get into all that right now, because the point here is: you can’t love like that and still be a villain)
This whole narrative they’re trying to sell us? Absolute nonsense. A villain doesn’t pick and choose when to have a soul.
You can’t live a double life with two different moral codes, two different sets of emotional instincts. That’s not how human psychology works.
The writers forgot their own show and think we did too.
And, yeah, it worked on some people (the ones watching the show with their ass), But Jesus Christ, we have the scenes. The episodes exist.
How laaazyyyy
I can’t deal with it
Or do the writers seriously believe you can be a Nazi and still love like that? What absolute idiots.
It’s basic psychology. Don’t write a show about people if you don’t understand how people work.

Reblogging for general awareness.
In a normal circumstance, I hate Netflix. However, they struck a deal to produce new episodes of Sesame Street and will ensure that the episodes remain free and accessible on PBS for all kids and for that, they deserve gratitude.
Additionally, unlike the deal previous struck with HBO, this one with Netflix also makes its so new episodes are simultaneously available via Netflix, PBS, and the PBS Kids app.
Please continue to support Sesame Street and all the other PBS programming via donations to ensure everyone, kids and adults alike, continue to have access to educational viewing.

Okay, so they’re trying to convince us that June had no other choice. That there was truly nothing she could do in that empty hangar… okay…
But what if, I don’t know, she had arranged beforehand for a message to get to Nick, telling him not to come to the airport? Huh?
She always found a way to reach him when she needed something… but when she could’ve done something for him, suddenly there were no other options?
Why do they think we're idiots?
Finally say it out loud that you are a bunch of hypocrites!

Nick 💔
Tumblr media
- He died thinking he was a monster to the woman he loved. And yet, his last thought was for her.
- He will never have the chance to see and hold his daughter ever again. To tell her that he loves her. So much.
- He will never meet his unborn child. His baby boy.
- He died thinking he wasn't enough. Thinking he wasn't worthy.
- He died feeling alone, and trapped, and sad.
Max, thank you for portraying this amazing character for the past 9 years. You did a wonderful job. They betrayed you, and they betrayed us, the fans. 💔
GoodBye, Nick Blaine. You will be missed. 💔 You deserved so much better...

I honestly have a lot of reasons to believe they planned this a long time ago because they started acting really strange around season 3.
The thing is, they completely cut Nick out of the entire season, even though we know they filmed scenes with him. And then, after the season aired, they gave all these weird interviews, saying they “just didn’t have time” to show Nick. Which was complete bullshit because they did have time for Aunt Lydia, for example. She got a whole ass dedicated episode that season!!!
They also said some really bizarre things in interviews back then like how Nick somehow influenced June’s dark arc, and how that was why she was behaving the way she did in S3. And that pissed me off, even back then. It was already showing a very annoying pattern: “We won’t show it on screen, but we’ll explain it to you later in an interview.”
The only actual scene that even hinted at Nick being anything close to a villain, any real foreshadowing was in episode 6 of season 3, when he walks through the soldiers and they salute him. That’s it. That one scene, shot in a very dramatic, revealing way. That’s the only time they tried to build tension around his power and status.
Maybe they were planting seeds. But even if they were, they executed it so poorly.
Because beyond that? All the so-called “foreshadowing” only came from other characters characters who weren’t speaking the truth, but just projecting their own fears, agendas, or insecurities. It was never shown to us directly through Nick’s actions.
And what’s more: they always fed Nick’s haters through interviews. They were weirdly consistent with that, constantly pushing this idea that “he’s not who you think,” “he’s a mystery,” “he helped build Gilead,” and so on.
But again, they did it badly.
Good storytelling means you show, not tell. Especially not in a fucking post-season interview.
And most importantly in their obsession with “keeping the mystery,” they went way too far. They made Nick look so incredibly good on screen that it’s just not believable he was living some kind of double life or wearing a mask all along.
You simply can’t sell that twist with a character who has shown such deep, selfless love who gives freedom instead of control, who never manipulates, who respects boundaries, who risks himself over and over again. That level of emotional maturity doesn’t coexist with the kind of darkness they suddenly want us to believe he had.
So even if the idea of this twist might have had some narrative potential even if I could’ve accepted a properly developed villain arc the execution was not there 🤮
PS: I actually started to feel something was off back in Season 3 but I interpreted it completely differently. I thought the reason they were holding back with Nick was because he was supposed to be the endgame for June, so they didn’t want to taint him. That’s why they didn’t “drag him down” like the others.
But in reality, it turns out they were just setting up this “big twist” all along that he was a piece of sh*t and we just didn’t know it. And their logic? “Well, if we show it during the series, you’ll see it coming, so let’s not show it at all until the final punch.” 🤡
Which is honestly one of the dumbest narrative strategies imaginable. I couldn’t even conceive they’d go down that route. Because it’s just… bad storytelling.
