The thing that is really funny about Kiritsugu's role in Fate/Zero is that he is, quintessentially, the guy who brings a gun to a magic fight, but in doing so he also betrays a fundamental flaw in the expected behaviors of mages. His focus on deception and subterfuge and long-range tactics makes him invariably lethal to mages who aren't expecting him, and difficult to deal with otherwise.

He is perfectly designed to lay bare the rigidness and flaws of the magic system that Nasu created.

Me? Making a Fate fanart in 2024? Impossible.

For real though, my friend got convinced to watch it with me and I felt the old brainworms wriggling in. Also I’d been thinking on redrawing some very old piece to see how far I’ve gotten. Diarmuid just so happened to be on my very first Fate fanart four years ago, so here he is! I don’t think it counts as a redraw however. More like a full blown remaster, since now I possess both skill and confidence to put a character in the exact scene I want. (here’s a 2020 old art jumpscare for your own comparison)

since the new gudaguda has okita alter in it im once again thinking about how funny it is to compare the counterforce guardians we have. archer was so traumatized and embittered by his duties that he made it everyones problem in fsn and continued to do so in most subsequent appearances because emiya was never truly prepared for the amount of blood that would be on his hands for his duties as a "hero" and comparatively okita loves killing and bloodshed and violence so being a counterforce guardian ruled for her and she did it for so impossibly long that shes all but forgotten why she even started in the first place and somehow ended up becoming sakura saber mysterious heroine xx.
