A Year Ago Today...
I graduated college. Today: I wrote this long retrospective post on my year and all the life lessons I've learned, blah blah blah. Then I accidentally pressed the back button and deleted it all.
To sum up what was said: cliche's exist for a reason - and I feel like I'm getting old. Youth is truly wasted on the young. After a long day at my full time job, I'm simply too tired to journey too deep into thought for a second time. So for tonight...I'm grateful for the experiences of the last year, but tired as hell. Goodnight.

Crisp. Clean. A deep breath in and out. The feeling you get after a long shower on a hard day. When you come home and you can see the lines from the vacuum still fresh in the carpet...okay that may be just my mom and I. The point is, this is not just a vanity, not just a closet, it's organization at its finest. Its peace of mind.
Enter my new obsession: Home Organization. Am I the only one who watched The Amandas or Million Dollar Closets? When your home is clean, you feel better, wake up easier, and sleep happier. I know you think I'm being dramatic, but I dare you to try it! I built a closet system a few weeks ago, and made a commitment to make my bed and hang my clothes everyday. It. Is. Amazing. There are still some days its just not going to happen...lets be real, but the principal still stands. Discipline is key. TRY IT! :)

It's important to self-identify. The basis on which people judge you (and everyone does, at some level) is determined by the number of assumptions one can make in an instance. While most claim freedom from their disapproval, it doesn't remove the layers of inadequencies and experiences that you buy and keep tucked away.
What if we let them show? All the things that make us original and intricate instead of fresh out of the box. What if instead we lived simply and reflected the things most important to us. If along the way our originality happens to sparkle or cause a double take so be it :) Vintage chic.
