Heard from someone I knew that Sunye and her husband, James, is currently serving as missionaries in Haiti. They are doing very well over there. Her husband is a capable missionary who is very famous in New York. Sunye is good at cooking, she will often cook some dishes for the team in Haiti. The entire family is coping well even under the harsh conditions over there. Although I am not her fan, but I heard it from someone I knew at church. I was happy to hear that so here I am leaving a message.

i was reading this post here. title reads 'i used to hate sunye'.

first and foremost, im not a personal fan, but a group fan i am starting to miss sunye a lot these days with rumors about WG's comeback, i started to wonder what it will be like without sohee but then i thought of the absence of sunye as the main vocal, i cant seemed to breath well to the general public, WG = sohee but WG's songs = sunye without sunye, the songs will never be the same again although the remaining three is able (i hate sunmi but since she joined, then might as well be four...ㅋㅋ) there is always a lingering sense of worry ㅠㅠ if sohee succeeds as an actress, that would be great. i believe she can, no doubt about that ㅋㅋ that sunye, we miss her so much, but she is doing well with her husband and eunyoo... makes me hate her yet envy her. she looked so blissful in that ice bucket video she crushed our hearts, so if she is not blissful, i will hate her even more why not just build a happy family, live well and it would be best if she can participate in the album no matter what, i hope WG success in their comeback!

while i do not hate sunye one bit, gotta agree with this post that sunye is indeed happier now than she was before she got married. im very happy for her because i know the life she is living now is the envy of many idols and non-idols alike.

while our priorities in life change over time, so does sunye. as long as she is doing a good job in what she wants to do now, thats all good, and it proved that her decision is the right one. its her life, not ours.

1. A fan criticized Sunye for going public with her relationship at a fan-signing 'Do you know that you going public with your relationship has caused an inconvenience to the group? I think you were really short on thought with that decision'. Sunye replied calmly 'Can you ask the other members? Because I'm curious myself as to what kind of inconvenience I have made to the group. I don't think that I created an inconvenience to the members, but I do think that I hurt your feelings. I'm sorry about that'.

2. A group of fans were waiting for Wonder Girls at a hotel in Thailand, however, as most of the fans there were Sunye-biased, they mainly shouted Sunye's name when Wonder Girls walked past. Sunye was upset that the fans only shouted her name and was overheard asking her manager 'Why did they only cheer for me?'. Fans later apologised to Sunye on twitter and promised to cheer for all members.

3. At the Korea Music Festival 2010 in Los Angeles, veteren singer Yoon Bok Hee put up a special performance with her brother (non-celebrity). During the finale, while the other idols went to the front to interact with the fans and have fun, Yoon Bok Hee's brother was alone, standing shyly and awkwardly at the back of the stage. Sunye went over and escorted him to the front of the stage to join the rest.

4. A fan told Sunye that she had waited for her in front of the JYP building for six hours. Sunye replied back, "I waited 19 years to be able to meet all of you." 5. A fan from Sokcho was waiting outside the girls' dorm one winter. Sunye came out and gave her an autograph and stuck something in her hands and left. It was a $30 hand warmer. 6. When Wonder Girls got into their car accident, Sunye was said to have pulled Sunmi, who was sleeping in the middle of the van, towards her so that she'd take most of the damage. She has a scar on her knee because of it, which is a complex for her now. Yubin covered Sohee from all of the glass debris with a towel. After Sunye checked everyone was okay outside of the car, she prayed and thanked everyone for being safe. In a later interview, she said she was upset that she couldn't think of the taxi driver who had passed away in the accident because she was too preoccupied with worrying about the members.

7. A BMW honked at Sunye when she was walking into her dorm so Sunye turned around and shouted, "You think you're everything just because you drive a BMW?!" 8. A fan approached Sunye for an autograph when she had her hands full with some luggage and her cellphone. The fan offered to hold one of them for her while she signs the autograph, so Sunye gave her the cellphone instead of her luggage because she didn't want her to carry something heavy. 9. When rumors of Sohee being an outcast in the group started spreading, everyone asked Sunye to close her Cyworld mini-homepage. Sunye refused, saying that if she did, she'd only be acknowledging the rumors. A couple days later, fans started noticing that the hateful replies were disappearing one by one. Sunye was actually reading all of them and deleting them herself.

10. On the Come to Play girl group leader special, while everyone was reaching out for the fruits on the table, Instead of taking one for herself, Sunye pushed a plate of fruit towards f(x) Victoria who said she had been eyeing the fruits on the table for a long time.

11. At a China interview, the reporter asked the girls if there were any memorable experiences from their Jonas Brother tour. Yubin replied "Because there weren't enough beds on the tour bus, one of us had to sleep upright on the couch. Because Sunye only slept on the couch during the tour, I am very grateful to her". Fans in the audience shouted and expressed sympathy for Sunye. Sunye replied "It was very comfortable".

12. Sunye gave up her own chair to Sohee in exchanged for Sohee's faulty chair.

13. Sunye accidentally posted a photo of her baby daughter on her personal Facebook publicly. She deleted it right away but some fans managed to save it in time and post it on twitter. Sunye dm the fan on twitter and politely asked her to delete "Sorry to ask you this but just letting you know that I uploaded Hailey's picture on fb by accident on public. Hope you understand that I don't want my baby's picture on public news. Could you be able to delete the tweet of her picture asap? Thank U". The fan promptly deleted it from twitter and tweeted Sunye a 'sorry', to which Sunye thanked the fan for her understanding.

The truth about Sunye's 'sponsorship'

I don't get how Sunye-tweeting-a-photo-of-a-product can become a sponsorship controversy in Korea.

There are people (it started with WG fans tho) commenting that Sunye is becoming a sponsorship queen despite not being an active celebrity. They are citing her honeymoon, drinks at her wedding, baby jewelry, breathing pillow, party decor, soccer octopus restaurant etc. tweets as sponsorship tweets. They are mad at her for receiving sponsored items and generally being happy with her life.

Yes, she does tweet a lot of 'advertising' type of tweets, but that doesn't mean she is receiving sponsorship. 90% of her so-called advertising tweets are actually gifts from friends, especially church friends. Do you count gifts from your friends as a sponsorship? No. Will you help your friend to promote their products/brand out of friendship? Probably yes.

Just to clarify some of the examples raised by Korean netizens.

- Comesta baby jewelry: The Comesta guy is a friend of James and part of their profits actually goes towards helping Haiti children.

- CHERISH breathing pillow: The owner is a church friend of Sunye/James and he also promote his company on the church website.

- Party With Chloe party decor: The lady owner at Part With Chloe is a church friend of Sunye and James in Canada. They engaged this party planner for Sunye's baby shower which was later digged out by fans. This friend later helped Sunye out for a friend's after-wedding party which Sunye tweeted about.

- Soccer Octopus restaurant: A church friend of Sunye's. This restaurant was also used as a venue for one of Wonder Girls' comeback interview.

- Maldives' honeymoon: They were in Maldives for more than a week, while the ELLE team were there only for 2-3 days (as indicated by photographer Genius Oh on his twitter). If you read the ELLE interview, Genius Oh was the one who suggested photoshoot in Maldives to capture these precious memories but some netizens make it sound as if Sunye asked for her trip to be sponsored in exchange for the photoshoot.

- Spa the El: The owner tweeted about how nice Sunye was and posted a photo of Sunye at Spa the El. It became a big news. Netizens start slamming Sunye for sponsorship. What about the numerous top celebrities who also took photo at Spa the El? Lee Mina, a former broadcaster, is a staunch Christian and friend of Sunye's. You can see most of the top celebrities she posted photos with are Christians.

Korean netizens also have that double-standards against Sunye. They said she's no longer a celebrity so get off twitter. How absurd, then those netizens should be the first to get off twitter. If she's no longer a celebrity to you, then why are you so concern with what an ordinary person tweets? 

What annoys me most if that Korean WG fans are the ones who started this nonsense. Sunye has fans who want to see her tweeting, even if it is about a product or a brand. Who are those netizens/WG fans to deprive others just because they themselves do not like it?
