Shines’ on ‘Rice’ Young researchers of CHS’ shines bright in this year’ Regional Invention Contests and Exhibits (RICE) conducted by the Department of Science and Technology, at the Technological Institute of the Philippines, Cubao, September 19, Tuesday. Patricia Mae Alfonso (10-Zara), Keeshia Eunice Jewel Closa (10-Zara) and Kim Charlotte Encarnacion represented the team category with their research “Corn (Zea mays) Peelings and Expanded Polystyrene Dissipated in Acetone Plastic Board”, whereas Sebastian Genesis Viduya represented the individual category with his research “Most Suitable Fruiting Substrate of White Oyster Mushroom (Pleurotos ostreatus) from Banana Peel (Musa acuminata) and Used Papers”. Both parties drew attention from different local organizations. Alfonso’s Team drew attention from the people of the Technology Application and Promotion Institute (TAPI), for their research aims to construct a much more concrete material for the production of synthetic products made from plastic. The team will receive a huge amount of P200,000 fund from the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) to further examine its testing’s’, this will help the group to attain a much more better results that can help for further use. On the other hand, Viduya received a TAPI grant that will make his research patent. Mrs. Viola Donato, Research Adviser of both teams, was ecstatic to know how lucky they are for this achievement. “They’ve done so much work for their researches, and I think this is just a fair pay back”, Mrs. Donato says during an interview.

Nito lamang Sabado,(Disyembre 9,2017) ay isinagawa ng paaralan ng Caloocan High School ang inauguration o pagpapasinaya sa bagong building na ipinatayo ng Government Officials ng lungsod ng Caloocan. Naisagawa rin ang ribbon cutting kasama ang mayor ng Caloocan city na si Mayor Oca Malapitan, kasama si Congressman Egay Erice. Ang building na kanilang ipinatayo ay para sa mga estudyante ng Caloocan High School.
