I love explaining Metroid lore to someone who has never played the games. The Metroids you see everywhere are just the larval stage, with their final form being a bipedal fire-breathing monster. Metroids also are manmade (well, chozomade) organisms created to prey on x parasites, which assimilate the dna of their hosts and would probably eradicate all other life if left alone. Samus has human, 2 different tribes of chozo, and Metroid dna. She’s the last surviving Metroid, after she eradicated them all on federation orders. Metroid Prime doesn’t mean the first Metroid; it’s the name of the final boss of the game. Metroid Prime is also Dark Samus. Any questions.
