I've written and deleted so many angry posts regarding immigration. I just think you don't care about immigrants any more than Republicans do if you loudly proclaimed how moral you were for refusing to vote for the liberal woman against the white supremacist who campaigned on violent xenophobia for 10 years, separated children from their parents at the border, lied that immigrants were eating cats and dogs, promised mass deportations, and has sent innocent men to a prison in El Salvador. I don't think you're being honest about wanting Democrats to improve on immigration when you let such a man into power and make false equivalencies between the parties. I don't think you should be able to scream moral superiority without people pointing at the blood on your hands.

If there’s anything I’ve learned in life it’s that being confident and having self respect will sometimes evoke some of the most irrational obsessive hatred and anger in other people. Particularly if you’re perceived as someone who doesn’t “deserve” to feel that way about yourself there’s a very specific type of anger that comes from people who can’t understand why someone who they think should hate themselves doesn’t
