😭😭😭😭😭A heavy thunderstorm hit Agra on Friday night causing damage to the world famous Taj Mahal. A small portion of marble and red sandstone railings behind the Taj Mahal’s main mausoleum on the side of Yamuna river were damaged after an iron scaffolding fell on them. Archeological Survey of India (ASI) has estimated that it will require around Rs 20 lakh to repair the damaged parts. According to ASI officials, "The damage to the nine-foot-long marble and six-foot-long two panels of red sandstone railings was caused by iron pipes, which fell from the top due to heavy winds". “The wooden main gate of west side entry had also tilted a bit because of the thrust of high-speed wind, which was assessed at 124 kilometres per hour. A thunderstorm that swept through Agra Friday night damaged the marble railings of the pulse of nation – the Taj Mahal. The storm also damaged the main wooden main gate of the monument. The wind speed was assessed at 124 kilometers per hour and brought down trees and walls. “There has been damage to the Taj Mahal’s premises due to rains and thunderstorm. Part of the marble railing at the back of the main mausoleum towards river Yamuna fell. A red sandstone railing fell on the floor. “The wooden main gate has tilted because of the thrust of high speed winds which uprooted the false ceiling outside the monument and damaged a turnstile gate at Taj Mahal.
