I actually loved Hawkgirl’s screech every time she went to battle. It’s fun when they’re fighting the kaiju and stuff, but towards the end of the movie you realize how scary it would be to have a winged person weilding a giant mace coming at you with this ear splitting screech, and I love it.

not a good brain day so im thinking about yjs with autistic reader....

autistic reader who has very high sensitivity to noise and has just been unable to handle it lately. could be anything from the way shauna sits outside and sharpens her spear too roughly, could be the way the girls' voices are too loud as they gossip. you lost your earplugs in the cabin fire, so you don't have anything to cover up the noise. your hands can only do so much. thinking of going to lottie because she's the first person on your mind who you think can help. asking her if she could help, maybe make you some earplugs since she's crafty and always knows what to do. she tells you she can help, but you might wanna go to nat since she might still have her headphones you can use. it might not be much, but it'll be helpful until lottie finds something she can make for you. nat's confused when you ask for them, tells you the battery ran out months ago, but she happily gives them to you. she even tells you if you ever need her to use her antler queen authority to make things quiet around camp, she's more than willing to use it for you.

autistic reader x shauna, who always knows how to handle your meltdowns. there are definitely some times when you both just scream at each other, but she always ends up coming back to you and apologizing for being so mean. shauna who goes from hut to hut to shut people up if they're being too loud for your liking, comes back to you and asks so softly if you're okay. shauna who's more than happy just holding you and whispering soft words into your ear when you need it.

tai who walks you to the lake to clean off because you hate when you feel too dirty and grimy. tai who carefully cuts up your shirts during the summer because you hate the feeling of the string rubbing against your skin after you cut them. staying up late with tai and talking about how freeing it is to be able to unmask out here, but you still struggle with it all.

aut4aut with van where you're underexpressive and she's very expressive. you're both awkward and you bond over it!! always talking about how you did something embarrassing in front of the other girls and whatnot, something about them not following the script you had in ur head... always asking her random questions.. "so, do you think...." or "hey, what if...." just because you need to talk or you'll die. also, you just love talking to her and hearing what she has to say.
