Mukul Madhav Foundation - A Charitable Trust in Pune and India

Mukul Madhav Foundation (MMF) is an India-based charitable trust that has been spreading hope and happiness since 1998, registered in 1999, with an overseas office in London, UK (CIO: 1182723), started in 2018.

We are primarily engaged at the grassroots level with vulnerable, marginalised communities and individuals. Working dedicatedly to give access to the resources they need to flourish, to feel empowered and cherished.

We do this through collaborations with like-minded corporates, individuals, organizations, on-ground partners, and since 2014 also as CSR partner to Finolex Industries.

Our work encompasses healthcare, education, social welfare, water and environmental conservation, sanitation, women’s empowerment, disaster relief, promotion of sports and skill development. This accounts for 17 of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and 15 of the 16 CSR Mandates put forward by the Indian Government in 2014. With a determined focus to empower people with hope and happiness. To give them a foundation on which they can then fulfill their true potential. Setting them up for life. Mukul Madhav Foundation (MMF) was established in 1999 as a Public Charitable Trust, and is well known today for its charitable activities in the fields of Healthcare, Social Welfare and Education. We gives donations in the form of financial assistance and equipment to hospitals and institutions, such as orphanages and homes for the destitute and handicapped children. We also help schools in rural areas with their infrastructure and provide students with books, uniforms, shoes and other material. Support for the Differently-Abled - NGO for Handicapped In India

Whatever their abilities, everybody has something to contribute to the world. What one person is good at, another might not be. Finding out what your abilities are, and how they can impact the world is at the crux of all our work with the differently abled. Not just facilitating their search for purpose, but facilitating a sense of dignity.

Those living with Cerebral Palsy, the hearing and visually impaired, the mobility impaired – we at MMF are dedicated to empowering them with opportunities and resources, therapy and training. Through individualised support and advocacy, we strive to break down barriers, change perceptions, and create an environment where each one can shine.

One of the initiatives close to our hearts is Mission Cerebral Palsy. To see hope kindled in the eyes of parents. To see the look of triumph in the eyes of each of the 1,300 children when they take their first independent steps. When they begin to communicate with words. When they are able to fend for themselves. Those moments encourage us to expand our work further with 250 prosthetics and 75 surgeries, physiotherapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy and the provision of wheelchairs.

We have also created employment opportunities for the visually impaired through collaborations with organisations like Finolex Industries and the Pune Blind Men’s Association. Our support extends to institutes for the visually impaired and the differently abled in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka, Assam and Leh Ladakh, offering monthly groceries, educational aid and infrastructural development. Whatever the initiative, the objective will always be to create a more inclusive and supportive environment that embraces the unique abilities of each person. Giving each person access to dignity.

MOTHER NATURE DESERVES DIGNITY TOO

Guided by the principle of returning love a hundred-fold, we have been diligently working to repay the generosity of our planet. Our mission revolves around collaborating with nature to combat erosion, replenish water tables, and provide shelter and sustenance for all living beings in its care.

As our world faces the threats of rising population, urbanisation and climate change, safeguarding our ecosystem has become an urgent priority. Recognising that humans often deplete natural resources faster than they can be restored, we are committed to environmental conservation.

We have forged partnerships with various organisations to drive gradual change. Our efforts extend to supporting water conservation projects in and around Maharashtra. We engage in activities such as restoring and constructing cement nala bunds, installing water pumps, laying pipelines for remote access, and promoting initiatives like rainwater harvesting, river rejuvenation, and desilting water bodies. Additionally, we conduct extensive tree plantation drives to foster environmental protection. Through collective action, we have achieved significant transformations in regions grappling with water scarcity. By deepening reservoirs, increasing water levels, and reviving old rivers and lakes, we have made a meaningful impact. We firmly believe that through unity, we can make informed decisions that save our planet from the imminent crisis it faces. Therefore, we persistently strive to bring about an ocean of change, one drop at a time.

Health is truly wealth - Healthcare NGO in India

Medical science has progressed by leaps and bounds over the last few decades, and so has life expectancy. But this progress has not been universal. In parts of the world and India, there are vulnerable individuals and communities who have been left far behind by these new advances. Their income or geography, mostly both, restrict their access to even basic healthcare. There are people who dread disease and illness, not because it is incurable or terminal, but due to the burden it will put on their finances. Even if they are cured, the illness will leave their lives devastated. Tough choices are usually made in families – either they rely on affordable local remedies to be cured and maybe live through the illness. Or get a new lease on life through expensive cures, and henceforth have a poor quality of life for the entire family. Along with government organisations and NGOs, we at Mukul Madhav Foundation are working hard so that these people don’t have to make these tough choices.

We have been working on-ground for the last two decades to reverse healthcare neglect in any small way we can. With a focused agenda of updating, upgrading and uplifting infrastructure that has deteriorated with neglect.

Whether it is facilitating advanced medical treatments for individuals, installing state-of-the-art medical equipment in government hospitals or contributing to the salaries of top technicians, doctors, specialists and surgeons, we have actively sought to impact health starting right at the roots. Extending our empathy beyond just the medical, we have created play areas and reading corners in children’s wards, adding aesthetic touches to their surroundings. We have supported the well-being of the relatives of patients with waiting rooms, water and sanitation facilities, and food. We have gone to great lengths to put in place small things that bring big comfort. Doing the same for doctors, nurses and hospital staff – creating staff rooms with thoughtful facilities that ensure that the ones that care for others, are cared for too.
