Appearance::

Malik's appearance typically consists of wearing a purple hooded robe, long purple cape with a gold chain at the front.

He wears golden earrings, three bands of neckwear, an armband on either arm, and five bracelets on each arm starting from close to his elbows and leading down to his wrists. He has dark skin, violet eyes, and white-gold hair that will on occassion appear more light especially depending on lighting.

He alternatively wears a sleeveless light purple hoodie with two gold chains on the front, black pants, and black shoes. A dark colored tank top is usually worn underneath the hoodie.

PERSONALITY:

When Malik was a boy he was rather innocent, and desired to see the outside world, despite his clan's laws forbidding him from doing so, and was willing to sneak out to fulfill his desire. He cared for his siblings, Ishizu and Rishid very much, and even considered the latter to be his brother despite not being related by blood.

Malik bore a grudge towards the Pharaoh because he was forced by his own father to undergo the Tombkeeper's ritual which consisted of having the family's carving etched into his back through a scarification ritual.

The ritual brought intense pain during and after the ritual and robbed him of his freedom, which made him grow resentful and hateful towards the Pharaoh.

This intense pain and hatred helped him to spawn his alter personality in order to comparmentalize and deal with the trauma.

A year later when his father brutally tortured Rishid for helping Malik and Ishizu to sneak up to the surface, his alter took over as Malik was unconscious.

His alter murdered his father, and Malik woke up with no recollection of his father's murder.

Immediately afterward, he sees Shadi, a loyalist to the Pharaoh whom had come to warn him about the dangerous path he had taken. Malik thought that Shadi had murdered his father, leading to Malik's betrayal against the Pharaoh.

While leading the Ghouls in his quest for world domination and freedom, Malik became cruel, and uncaring, willing to brainwash people to do his bidding, force them to cheat, use cruelty on his behalf, the victims included Bandit Keith and Strings.

He was not above using death to punish his subordinates for failure, nor did he care about sacrificing Ghouls to test the fake "Winged Dragon of Ra" cards which produced severe injuries and death. He even threatened his sister Ishizu with the Millennium Rod for interfering, and ordered Rishid to use the fake Ra card against his will.

Despite his mistreatment he still retains love for his family.

BIO:

Malik was the leader and founder of the organization known as Ghouls. He led the Ghouls up until entering Battle City, whereupon his alter ego took over once Rishid was defeated in his duel.

His alter ego, Yami no Mariku took over his body and replaced him as the one in control of the body.

After the Ceremonial Duel where he finally fulfilled his destiny, Malik gradually becomes more calm, albeit still retaining some of his past characteristics every now and again.

He helps out his sister, Ishizu and Rishid with duties every now and again while trying to live out the life of freedom he desired when he was younger.

Malik is still somewhat emotionally distant thanks to his past trauma, but he genuinely hopes to develop some kind of relationship with the Pharaoh, and his friends.
