Hi. Welcome to Aperture Science. Earth 1 if you came from the multiverse device. I'm Greg, assistant to the CEO Cave Johnson. Try not to mess around too much without supervision. Some of the stuff here isn't exactly up to safety standards. [[RP blog for Greg from the Portal 2 Perpetual Testing Initiative. Check the links for more info. A lot of this is based in headcanon.]]

The only edible substance he had on him was a shrink-wrapped cookie he'd grabbed from the cafeteria. Each time the deer went near that pocket he turned away. Until of course it spoke, which was when he froze up. There were two explanations for this. One, the deer was from the genetics department. Two, he needed to borrow some of Doug's medication. He was reasonably sure he was still sane, and to keep that frame of mind he told himself the animal was from genetics. Still, it was incredibly awkward.
"Uh... No. The department didn't feed you?"
@atinydeer
Tail wagging in excitement, the young deer was already walking in circles around his new friend, sniffing the human’s pockets and legs for any traces of edible things. “What do you mean? Do you have food? I’m hungry.”

Greg blinked. Surprise would have been the normal reaction, but this was Aperture -aka Craziness Inc.- so a deer in the facility was more of a 'why' than a 'how' situation. After letting a moment of silent staring pass he exhaled and let his shoulders fall. "So genetics finally made something normal or someone left the surface door open again. Either way, you're going to be a pain."

The way she worded her response made it seem like she was another orphan who had wandered in and claimed the place as home. With Cari and Kevin, this girl would make three orphans being taken care of. Aperture really needed some kind of mini daycare center.
"And I'm just here to help." She'd backed away from him so that was his response. Don't get snippy with kids now, Greg. How to get a child to like you? He was horrible at it with his daughter... "Nice dragon. What's its name?" If he could get her to not be so nervous around him, then getting her to the offices would be easier. From there he could contact Maria down in HR and see what she had done to get Cari and Kevin acclimated.
She looked up at him in surprise as he approached her, nervously backing away from him. "N-nuh... I d-don't... I don't have... those..." she muttered awkwardly, looking quickly back to the ground. "I'm j-just... I l-live here..."
The android held a small black dragon plushie to her chest, shivering as her hood fell over her face and hid her face from view. She'd only been activated for a few days now and it was taking her a while to get used to things.

No more excuses from me. My college quarter has come to an end and I'm taking the Summer off from classes. Gonna be available all Summer, woohoo!
And with that the mun finally gets her ass in gear and bids you good day. If a reply does not come, please do bother me about it. Seriously, I welcome reminders. They are wonderful.
I promise to not abandon this wonderful fandom again.

Reluctant footsteps echoed down the path GLaDOS had laid out for him. The testing track wouldn't be safe if she was in charge but Greg wasn't going to risk irritating her any more than he already had. Maybe he should get in the habit of having back-up plans... Having finally gotten to the last door, he paused for a brief moment and stepped inside. Fear had been shown previously and hadn't gotten him anywhere. Abiding by that observation, this time he would act as if this were standard protocol. See if that made a difference. "Ready for testing, miss GLaDOS. Will I be given the appropriate equipment?"

Not knowing that she'd been in control of the doors was a poor excuse for a terrible plan, but on the bright side now he knew. If the cameras could pick up sound as well as video several profanities would be coming through. "Assume whatever you like." was muttered as he tried to pry open the access keypad. "Whose bright idea was it to give you override codes to the door mainframes?"

"Hi Wheatley." Greg wasn't the type to go around memorizing what every employee was like (that would be impossible even if he wanted to), but he was fairly certain Wheatley was the type who was constantly trying to prove himself. AKA working solo until something went wrong. This knowledge coupled with the fact that Wheatley was in the doorway to his office was worrying. "Do you need something?"

"I'll try and talk Mr. Johnson into opening more areas to the test subjects. For all his 'testing is the backbone of this facility' speeches he doesn't seem to care much for them outside the chambers. And unless you want to keep talking to me I should probably let you get back to your break." he finished, placing the clipboard under his arm and taking a step toward the direction of his office. If John actually did want to spend his time talking with him that was fine and he'd stay, but Greg wasn't going to keep the test subject any longer if that wasn't the case.

Greg was running into unexpected things at nearly every turn but this was an unexpected he wasn't expecting. Usually at Aperture 'unexpected' meant things like a lab exploding or experiments gone missing. Or that one incident when the twins had gotten into the testing track.
This was different. He blinked in surprise and knelt down to talk to the little girl. Unfamiliar, which was strange. He thought he knew all the Aperture kids. If not by name then at least by appearance. "Hi." A soft smile as he spoke. "Did you get separated from your parent? Or are you just exploring?"

-Can't blame the other for leaving.- See that's what I meant by the morale thing, sir.

That wasn’t me. That was a different Greg…

She hands him a cookie with a note, -Seeing you happy is infectious. Your smile makes others smile. Thank you.-
So you’re supposed to read the note first but his eyes went straight to the cookie. Sweets were a weakness. Self-control was asserted however and he managed to read the message with the cookie still intact. It’s funny, a note about smiling made him do so. “You’ve got to be one of the kindest people I’ve met. I should be the one thanking you.”

"Greg Williams, Assistant CEO." he answered, returning the smile. "If that's intimidating though you can forget the position. I just help out with whatever Mr. Johnson needs. If I'm free I wander like now." There was a pause as he considered what to say next. Introductions, check. What then? "If you ever need something that the test associates can't help with I'm usually available." Semi-pathetic attempt but he ran with it. "Are you doing all right outside of testing?"

"Thank you." A friendly AI. That was a nice change of pace. "Can I get my location? That would be a good start." He wasn't sure where he was but he did know where he wasn't; Aperture. He was also reasonably sure it wasn't Black Mesa.
@daedalus-icarus-helios
This traveler seemed genuine enough… It seemed other AIs were more likely to be malicious that humans, ironically.
“Ah, welcome then. If you require any assistance at all, do not hesitate to ask.”

A roll of his eyes was the only response as he exited the room, seemingly going to the testing track. Once around the corner however, he bolted. This wasn't the brightest idea -she could easily find him via the cameras plus he wasn't a good runner- but it was all he had for now.
